I'd been wanting to try this place for a while! The grilled cheese suspended over a pot of tomato soup had me intrigued. There are a couple of locations, but I knew I'd be in the area of this one, so I made a 5 pm reservation. The reservation process was easy, and when I arrived (slightly behind schedule), it was no problem. Our servers were patient and friendly throughout the meal. They offer picnic-style tables, high-tops, and bar seating. We were seated in a little side area near some lawn games, and there were plenty of outlets for my friends' dying phones. Our table even had a Jenga tower already set up, with random sayings and prompts written on the blocks, which was a fun touch. I ordered water and what I'd been waiting for: the doughnut grilled cheese and tomato soup. It comes with a side, and I chose the onion rings. My friends ordered the kale chicken salad and the chicken sandwich. Both looked great, and they enjoyed their meals. The grilled cheese hanging over the little yellow pot was adorable and incredibly cheesy. The soup was thick and flavorful. My only complaint was that neither the grilled cheese nor the soup was very hot. That said, the cheese pull was wild, and when all that cheese fell into the soup? Delicious. The onion were were big and crispy. I know some reviews mention the prices, but I thought they were reasonable for the amount of food. We all had leftovers. Stopped in for the lunch special. I cannot believe the quality of the cheeseburger I received for just $10. The burger was fresh ground beef, I could tell because of how soft the patty is. Cooked perfectly with caramelized onions and melted cheddar cheese. Often when a burger comes on a pretzel roll, the role is on the harder side and is very dough-ey. Not here. Nice soft fresh pretzel roll. And it didn't overpower the beef at all. Excellent, friendly service and food arrived promptly. Bar and restaurant is clean and well kept. I'm somewhat familiar with this spot as they have several other locations, including one in the Bronx which is the one I had been to previously. It's been several years though, so I was looking forward to re-discovering this spot. This specific Clinton Hall location is located on 36th between 5th and 6th. Walking in, I was greeted by a large open space - it has a modern aesthetic with high ceilings, a dark color scheme, and rows of benches where you can sit. There are also a few games along the back wall which add to the overall play aesthetic; the bar on the left wall completes the look. The menu mostly consists of casual fare and bites; they have an good drink selection as well. We noticed a small cocktail menu at the tables, so we decided to primarily look there. We had a few rounds - all the cocktails were pretty good and fit well with the season. We also decided to get a few bites - we noticed they had $8 apps for happy hour and went with their Korean fried chicken tender and the mozz sticks. The tenders were good - crispy and paired with two sauces. The mozz sticks were pretty good - not as unique but they were fried well and had a decent cheese pull. Service was great - drinks and food were served promptly and everyone was friendly. Overall, I had a great time at Clinton Hall - they provided a fun, comfortable environment to connect with my colleagues outside the office with good food and drinks. It was my first time going here for a watch party. It was a sports event for the next. I went with a couple of friends, and my cousin and the ambience was very lively, which was great. The service the bartender Mo I had he was very attentive very nice very polite and the drinks that he was making were on point the food was good. The wind could've been a little bit better. Came here a few days ago for a casual gathering and it was a good pick! The venue is quite large and had tables available when we were there. Granted, we were there on a rainy Tuesday night before a holiday so maybe less customer traffic than usual - but ideal for our group of 10-15 to hang! Regarding food, there's plenty of options on the menu and I would say better than your average bar's food items. I would recommend the Korean fried chicken sandwich and onion rings but I think you can't really go wrong with most fried item choices. The food's mid but it's great enough for a big group with varying palettes. They also have a generous assortment of games to play and is very accessible in Manhattan, since all of us live in varying corners of NYC. I've also come here with smaller crowds and it's fun to sit there with your friends and passively play games, while getting a slight drink on. I hosted my birthday party for about 20 people at Clinton Hall 36th St this past weekend and had a wonderful experience! Reeves and Tara helped me arrange the event about a month in advance and were very communicative, helpful, and accommodating to all of my requests which were all executed excellently on the day. On site on the day, Michael welcomed us and was very helpful and attentive to our group. The hostesses, waiters (special shoutout to Mo!), and bartenders were also friendly with great service especially given that it was a very busy sports weekend with the NFL playoffs! My group was very well taken care of and I appreciate the wonderful service so much! They had many NFL drink and food specials that day which were very enjoyable and helpful for my group. I ordered a party platter that included sliders, nachos, and wings - all of which were delicious! Overall, I had such a positive experience and I would highly recommend Clinton Hall for your next event! Service was absolute garbage. Went in an hour after they opened and there were zero tables or patrons in there. On A SATURDAY!! Our server was super nice! But she literally dropped off the pitchers of mimosas/ Bellinis, took our order and then NEVER CAME BACK. Eventually there ended up being 5 more tables in there so we understood her being away, but we had to go get her attention at the bar, while she was on her phone to order another drink and get items for our meals because she was absent. The food was decent and we felt the price was worth the item, however if management wanted a full restaurant they should focus on service. Also we saw the manager on the floor helping seat guests and clear tables however in a restaurant that has at least 8 tables that seat 6+ and 10 that seat 4+ the priority on a Saturday with 6 tables in your whole restaurant should be the tables that have people not the empty ones. Given the availability of restaurant I probably would not plan to go back. Just wasn't worth our money given the poor service. Again. Food was fine. read more

Came here for the first time 2 years ago and had the absolute best fondue burger, we just had to come back for it. The result was extremely disappointing by the comparison. First photo was 2025, second was 2023. Easy to see how much smaller the burger is and how little fondue you receive. This visit completely destroyed the fantastic experience we were once given. Bartenders here are friendly, conversational, great service and best of all, there are so many board games available in the back that you never have to buy another board game again! After 5:30pm, the place is regularly packed with finance and tech bros dressed in corporate attire. Somehow, I've still never had to wait too long to get in! They have a large selection (20+) of craft beers, and provide a brief description of each one to help you decide. There's also a small cocktail menu. Drinks are reasonably priced, food is standard bar food, and there's lots of games and activities around the large space. I came here to meet with up with a group to celebrate one of my friends' birthday. The place was spacious and comfortable, with all sorts of games, such as Jenga, Connect 4, Uno, Foosball, and a cool lit up life size Chess board. There was also a pretty varied menu, and we ended up having the fried calamari and chicken nachos to share. The fried calamari was unique and slightly elevated, as it contained bonita flakes, black and white sesame seeds, crunchy jalapeños, along with yuzu aioli. I stayed away from the jalapeños because I have low tolerance to spicy foods. The calamari itself were shaped in little rings, which were perfectly crispy and very tasty. The nachos were loaded with melted queso, cherry peppers, pico de gallo, sour cream, and guacamole. There was an ample amount of tender, well seasoned grilled chicken distributed throughout. All the ingredients worked together to create mouthwatering bites. For my main course, I ordered the Bacon Bacon Bacon Burger, which was served with fries. The burger was on the smaller side, but expertly cooked and still satisfyingly filling. The burger came with half bacon and half beef patty, candied Nueske's bacon, and finally, tomato bacon jam. In addition to all that, there was delightfully melty Gouda cheese and watercress. The star of the meal was that candied bacon... Wonderfully crunchy, just the right amount of sweetness, and an explosion of flavor. The meat was also amazingly succulent and juicy, while the bacon jam tied everything up nicely. There were plenty of yummy skinny fries, which were kind of addicting. Of course, we wanted to get the extravagant Birthday Cake Waffle dessert, which was supposed to be $25. We were informed it would take awhile to create, and later were told due to demand, they wouldn't be able to make it for us, so the manager let us choose another dessert at no charge. Imagine our surprise when we were indeed served the Birthday Cake Waffle with a lit up sparkler, consisting of Fruit Loops waffles, topped with a slice of rainbow cake / lollipops and Fruit Loops ice cream with an ube cone. As a base and in between the waffles was frosting overflowing with Lucky Charms marshmallows, edible confetti, as well as Fruit Loops. This was quite an impressive and colorful display. I enjoyed the rainbow cake, which was moist with deliciously creamy smooth white frosting. The Fruit Loops ice cream was also good - Milky and incredibly sweet in a good way. The Fruit Loops waffles were decent, but didn't taste that strongly of the cereal. The rest of it was overly sweet. The staff also brought out 2 additional desserts: Churro Ice Cream Sundae and a trio of Ice Cream Sandwiches. The Churro Sundae came with horchata ice cream, which was a lovely blend of milk with cinnamon. The churros were also pretty good and still warm, with a generous dusting of cinnamony sugar. I wasn't that impressed with the ice cream sandwiches though. The cookies were kind of dry and bland, while the ice cream inside tasted plain. Service was excellent throughout. The staff were friendly, patient, and on top of everything - even the confusion with the dessert, was resolved with grace. I've been to Clinton Hall before but never this specific location. Always a fan because they usually have an enormous beer menu with a selection of beers I've never even heard of before (that's a tough mission to accomplish). So I was eager to check this out with my friend and a small gathering of folks she knew. I ended up having a great stout and a creamy sour from Watercolors that was strawberry, cherry, tangerine, pomegranate gingerbread marshmallow flavored. Wrap your head around that one. It was amazing. I'm craving this like a month later. We had a few appetizers of sliders, a variety of fries (waffle fries in this case are superior), and nachos. And to top it off it was someone's birthday so there was wait for it - Milk bar freaking birthday cake. I think the birthday cakes are a limited time option that the bar/restaurant have available.
