Integrity is something that Sean Wilson severely lacks. Now add being a smooth talking liar to that, you got yourself one heck of a combination. Sean reached out to be through Thumbtack for a project that I posted for in April 2024. His cost was good, didn't have to negotiate with him at all, gave me details of what he will be doing, backed it with three (3) years of (verbal) warranty for his work, so what was there to not like? Right? So, he sent the guy, the guy did his work and finished up on time and left. Sean reached back to me to arrange for payment, which we did, I sent him payment through Zelle, all well and good, until, October 2024. In late September, early October, I noticed that the mortar/concrete started to come off from between my stairs and the side walk, should not have been doing that in less than 6-months. I reached out to Sean via Thumbtack, he gave me a long sob-story of how he was going through some tough time, so he is taking a little break. I understood, because life happens. So I backed off and did not bother him and waited for him to get back to me on his terms. But the call never came. In March 2025 when I noticed that more of the mortar/concrete started to lift up, and also cracking. So, I tried to contact him via Thumbtack again, just to find out his account was not there anymore. Luckily, I had his cellphone number so I messaged him there, he went "oh yeah, you have that issue between the stair and the side walk right?" I went ahead and told him that its more than that now. Sent him pictures of the issue from every angle and told him what the issue was, he told me that he will look in to it, and that shamelessly tried to sell me his other services. Like, seriously? Anywho, I told him that I will think about it, but let me know when he can come and fix my current issue, he never did. I messaged him again a month later, in April, he checked my message and ignored it, never replied. I messaged him again a week ago, still no response, so here I am. Now, fun story, he has a Facebook Page where he posts his work. In October, when he was going through some "tough time" he posted some pictures of a major project we was working on in someone's deck. He posted some more pictures in November of another project as well. So, in other words, he was sick to come and fix stuff, but not sick for high dollar jobs. So, I personally think that he does not do anything himself, nothing grabbing projects, finding some random guy(s) off Home Depot/Lowe's parking lot, collecting money and then paying those laborers chump change, and pocketing the big chunk. Which is why, he does not want to be bothered with any follow-up repairs. He will give you verbal "warranty" but when the time comes, he will just simply ignore you, hoping that you will go away. I bet he got loads of negative feedbacks on Thumbtack in the final days, which is why he closed down his account there, but claims that "he does not need Thumbtack because he got many other leads". So in simple words, Sean has no integrity, he does not stand behind his work, he does not do a good quality work. He will lie to your face, and once he collects the paycheck, he will be out. If you still decide to go with him, make sure you have everything in writing so that you can take him to the cleaners if he tries to pull a fast one on you. So I hired this company to grade soil away from my garage after I had finished waterproofing the foundation. I hired them in early July and gave them about 1/3 the total cost. The company did a horrific job and actually made the situation worse than before they started. Now I have a visible decline towards the corner of the garage where water in heavy rain will accumulate. The company also strung me a long for about 3 weeks saying they were coming out to complete the service and fix the mess they made. They came out once lifted a little of the sod, through some topsoil under it and left. They did this when I was never there even though I asked for a time that we could be there to witness what was going on. After that first pathetic attempt they came up with excuses on why they could not come out finally just ignoring my request. I would stay clear of this company. read more

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE REVIEW, THOUGH LONG. I started working with Clor-Pro for landscape services in Southern Howard County several months ago after meeting with the owner and being impressed with him. I neglected to determine if a permit for these services is required in Howard County and, if so, if Clor-Pro has one. The work was done in 3 phases and consisted of planting a tree, removing shrubbery and plants, and replacing them with new shrubs/plants I purchased. Making minor repairs to the fence was also part of the scope of work. It started well. They scheduled a date and sent two people and kept this commitment. They were unable to complete all of the work in 1 day and sent one of the two original persons later that week who did most of the remaining work. He was a very pleasant man and did his best, though he planted several too close together that later needed to be moved. For Phase 2, the contractor and I ultimately agreed on a price increase to plant additional plants - $325 - and I thought it too high, and said so, yet nonetheless I authorized the work. The work was nicely completed by a new employee in only about 1 hour - leading me to conclude that the price I agreed to was too high. Nevertheless, I agreed to it and paid the bill that day. We agreed on Phase 3 work that I thoroughly detailed in writing, including a few smaller tasks from earlier phases that still needed to be completed - these at no charge. We incorporated my detailed list in the contract. It was a challenge to agree on a start date, with the weather partially, NOT wholly, responsible. I found myself chasing the owner and, eventually, he sent 1 person out who started the work. The next day he called and asked for an increase the price by $200, because of what he stated was an increase in scope of work. I told him I was unaware of an increase and could he tell me what new work was added. The owner could not identify any new work. I then said I was willing to add money when the scope increased, yet not at this stage, offering him the option to get back to me with a delineation of the new work of which he spoke. I never heard more. After this is when the biggest problem then started. I called and emailed the owner to schedule additional day(s) to complete the Phase 3 work and rarely received a response. Admittedly, my frustration grew. When I ultimately reached the owner, he either suggested a specific date, weather permitting, OR suggested some alternate dates depending on how long it took to start and/or complete work already booked. I did not understand why he did not care about completing my work, as he did with other customers. I am still waiting for the work to be completed, as well as a return phone call. Around this time, the owner called me on a Saturday and asked if he could come by. I said sure and asked when he expected to arrive - he said 7 minutes. His clear intent was to be paid. The owner asked if I would pay the entire amount, despite only partial completion of the work. His stated policy was to be paid the complete amount within a few days of work completion, though preferably on the day of completion. The owner assured me if I paid the full amount, there was no risk, since his landscaper was scheduled to complete the work the following Monday. This never happened and he did not call to tell me that the person would not be coming. I told the owner I never pay for work not done and offered a partial payment of approximately 80% of the full cost for Phase 3. Seven-ten days later, the owner told me that he contracted COVID, and I understood, and demonstrated understanding and forbearance. We agreed on 3 possible days that week and - no one came and no one called to explain and commit to another day. His tendency to either not answer the phone, not return emails, and not return phone calls just worsened. I left a detailed phone message telling the owner of my intent to publish a negative Yelp review and contact the BBB and the Office of Consumer Affairs, if no one came by the end of this week. Well, it is now 4 pm on Friday and no one came and the owner did not call. [Interestingly, someone showed up, without my knowledge, last week - for a partial day - and planted about 20 plants.] Though delighted with some progress, the owner was told that I wanted to be home when the work was done. Common courtesy toward customers is to notify them before their worker(s) cannot come on an agreed to date. I mentioned this to the owner and asked for this courtesy. Never happened. Consequently, I stayed home many days expecting worker(s) that never arrived. Though their work is, for the most part good, their ability to manage the job and keep me informed of schedule changes, as well as return calls or emails, is abysmal. I, in good conscience, cannot recommend this company for landscape services. read more
