It's another cheap clothing store for those young ladies who just can't afford to shop at Neiman Marcus yet. There are plenty of stores like this. They are useful because they have cheap cute-esque clothes in mass quantities. It is hard to find something unique here, but given the large selection, you should be able to find something of interest. I would recommend going to Closet if you have the items that you want to purchase already in mind before you go to the store. Going through all the apparel can be overwhelming -- you can begin to forget what you think is fashionable and what is not. This Closet is similar to the one PB. It is useful because of it's location and because the clothes are pretty inexpensive. But shopping there can take a lot of time because the store just carries way too much crap. read more

SOO much better than the Closet in PB. I came to the OB location for my first time this past Saturday night with my sister in law after we decided to go on an impromtu night shopping trip before our Winston's outting. I was afraid of getting there too late since it was almost 8, but they closed at 9 so we had plenty of time to shop around. Great selection of summer dresses and rompers! Huge selection of shoes, I seriously stood in front of the shoe wall for a good 20 minutes trying to figure out which ones I wanted to try on. I ended up buying a cute pair of sandals for $12. I saw the exact same pair at Reflection for $25! What a steal! In the end, sis' and I walked out with a full bag of clothes, shoes and accessories. Although, I detest shopping....I love getting new clothes. I don't care if I have a similar style already sitting in my closet, on a hanger with the tags still on them, if I find something I fancy and if its on sale..it will be mine! I think women are lucky because we can get literally a ton of clothing-lots of different pieces-for the same price as what a man may pay for a great pair of pants and a nice shirt. I wholeheartedly believe that in some way deep discounted sales is the cosmo's karmic thank you for all the hell that sometimes comes with being a woman. The Closet has a great variety of clothing, shoes, jewelry and purses for cheap! Some pieces are better in quality than others. It can be hit of miss so you absolutely must try everything on...Consistency isn't their strong suit so I've tried on several items and the fit has been different with the same items and sizes. I like to call it disposable clothing... The Closet has clothes that I like to compare to some very recent boyfriends. Great because I can indulge a bit in some pieces that make me feel hot and sexy but not really expecting to keep for a lifetime, but it'll do for the time being. read more

This place is good if you're looking for something super-fab, super quick and only got a buck to spare (which has been me a lot lately). Just prepare to toss out after a handful of washes. I'm weirdly obsessed with Closet. Dresses are absurdly cheap here, and at $15.00 each, you don't really care that they fall apart after one wash. Much of the clothing is poorly made, so don't feel awful if you spend an hour here and find that nothing fits, or that things just look weird on - I'm guessing most of it was made without having ever taken measurements on a human female. Oh, and the percentage of clothing here that is flat-out unacceptable to wear in public (tube tops, see-through dresses, mini skirts, and skin tight jeans) is HIGH. That being said, it's kind of fun to dig through the racks, and when you finally find that gem of a dress or top for $9.99, you feel like you've won some sort of fashion lottery. I'm totally in love with this store. Most of the clothing stores in Ocean Beach are really expensive, with limited selections, but The Closet has GREAT prices and tons of stuff to choose from. I don't like super flashy stuff, so this stuff works perfect for me. I have this really warm, cute black jacket from them that I always wear. I also love their shoes- these really cute grey boots and pink lace-y flats are in my top favorite footwear stuff. The best thing there though are their panties. They have all styles, and great deals! their panties are 4 for $10 I think, or something like that- soooo cheap (but not poorly made). I also have earrings, tights, funky pink suspenders, scarves, tight jeans, lace-y wife beater tops, and a sexy cut off shirt that I really love from them. The two things I don't like as much about this store are the fact their tank tops are soooooo long they look kind of awkward (they're longer than most of my dresses!). I understand I'm kind of small (5' 3"), but their Smalls are only a teeny bit shorter than their Mediums & Larges. The other thing is that their staff is kind of distracted, and don't seem to go out of their way to be helpful. But anyways, the benefits FAR outweigh the annoyances. read more

I am a life long lover of The Closet. I have been shopping there since I was a teenager and I probably still have some items from those golden days. You'd think because of the great prices it would be "fast fashion" and would fall apart, but I can attest that the materials and look withstand the test of time. I get tons of compliments on my stuff from The Closet and I always feel extra chuffed because I know how I got a great deal. I never walk out of this place without purchasing at least 1...or 10 items. They have a great selection to accommodate or freshen up your wardrobe. Everything in the store is ultra cheap (meaning price and quality) so if you are looking for a deal and not a total snob about quality, this is the place for you. Oh yeah they even have a "sale" section, the items on the sale racks are so ridiculously cheap, they might as well give the stuff away. The sales associates do not bother you AT ALL. If you need anything, you will have to go hunt them down. They are more or less there to check you out at the register or let you into the dressing rooms. I do not mind this myself, I actually hate when sales associates breathe down your neck - not the case here. I agree with some of the other reviews by mentioning that you need to try-on everything. Sizes are very unpredictable and return policy is strict. A bunch of the items are FINAL sale and the rest is in-store credit or exchanges only (no refunds). apt moniker...it's a little like my closet...trying for a semblance of pants with pants and tank tops with tank tops, but because we're all in a hurry winds up a bunch of stuff squished on a rack half off the hanger... i don't care...basically...i can even get my gentleman to roll in here with me...mostly because he gets a free peep show at the fitting room...not always just from me...but also cuz i get to pick out salaciously scanty little numbers that generally require a free-the-titties no bra approach...(and if your more modest...you can pick up a pair of those chicken-breast-strapless-numbers)... basically, there's tons of cute, affordable accoutrements...if you know your stuff, you can actually pick something that is cheap but won't make you look as such...and they have a frequent shopper program discount card... and it's the ultimate place to curb an accessory emergency...enough earring trees to mistake them for a sparkly forest and scads of shelves and racks galore of bangles and baubles and hats and scarves and belts and glasses and glove and bags and...you get the point... girls go here...you will be happy... read more

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this store!!! My girlfriends and I were visiting SD for her birthday and we walking around doing some shopping and drinking. When I walked in here I was in heaven!!! The clothes are adorable, cheap and I wish I had hundreds of dollars to blow in here!!! I bought a bunch of lace shirts that are so cute and I haven't been able to find here in the OC. My only problem was that the sizes run small, but I guess that means I just have to hurry up and lose the rest of my weight so I can fit into them better! I'm kind of sad to write this review, because I actually am ok with this store to buy basics (like undershirts and tanks and things) and it was for those items that I just went to this store. I work nearby and have run in on my lunch break on quite a few occasions---it's a nice break. I'm so sad to report on this occasion, as in about 20 minutes ago, I went in, zeroed in on the tanks I needed and began to search for size and colors. I kid you not, one of the associates (bright blue/green hair in case owners are curious) said to the other "hang on a sec, I need to go keep an eye on something." And proceeded to my section, and started to fold clothes on a stand that was a few steps away from me. Now, being as how there was only myself and maybe 1 other shopper in the store (who was nowhere near me), and the fact that they post pics of their latest shoplifters in their window and on this occasion it was a black woman that maybe she thought looked like me, it's more than obvious what she was doing. I've never shoplifted in my life, and at 30 it's not something I plan on picking up---no pun intended. I would have liked to shop more but was so offended I just grabbed my good old basics, and left. I'm happy to report I didn't TAKE anything except for what I put on my credit card. So whaddaya know, some of us do pay for our things..... So, Closet, I want you to know that I will happily be picking up my basics elsewhere and maybe time to train your employees on some tact. read more

This place is the mecca of cute clothes shopping on a budget. I dont think anything in the store cost more then 20 bucks. The clothes are way cuter and cheaper then anything Ive ever found at Forever 21. Granted, the quality isn't great, but seriously, what do you expect when paying 3 bucks for a tank top. Ok, so if you have the shoppies and don't want to spend alot of money on trendy stuff this place is great. Very cute trendy clothes, shoes, jewelry, belts and handbags. Quality not so great. Customer service not so great. Dressing room mirrors are fat mirrors and the colors painted in there with the floresent light doesn't help flatter your skin and body at ALL. All in all they have a great selection and they have a punch card that gives you a $20 reward when you fill it up. I have filled it up about 4 times. I love me some Closet. Basically they carry cheap versions of trendy "right now" clothes. I always stock up on stretchy tank tops (4 for $10) and headbands ($1). I love their dresses, and they're always getting new stuff in stock. I think I have their 'suede' slouchy boots in every color ($17). So many cute little trendy tops for clubbing. The quality isn't the best, but what do want out of a $15 dress? I get sick of my clothes so fast that I don't really wear them out anyway. read more

This place is great - lots of cute clothes (well, most of them are cute... I recommend staying towards the front half of the store), and they are really really cheap! The downside is, cheap clothes often aren't the best quality, but this is a great place to stock up on essentials such as tank tops to wear underneath better-quality tops and what-not. But beware - they don't do refunds!! So make sure you like the stuff you're getting... although most of it is so cheap, it's not worth the gas money to bring it back to exchange it anyway. read more

I love this place for cute cheap clothes! You can find anything in here, there's tons to choose from. You also could easily find a new outfit for under 50$! I don't expect this stuff to last forever but, with girls liking to not wear the same thing twice it's the perfect price for super cute Friday/ Saturday night wear! This place wasn't as great as it's hyped up to be. There's a few selection of clothing that I would like to wear here, decent prices. A lot of the clothing came out to be tacky to me though, as well as accessories. They have pretty cute shoes, witht he occasional tacky. I'd have to say I like this place for the simple stuff, like if you need colored tanks or shirts, but preferably I'm very happy about my $4 purchase of a one size fits all dress that came in a variety of colors, I'm going to go back to get another color haha. I've been in here a few times, but the clothes are very cheaply made and I've never found something that really excited me. I did go in once and bought a short sweater I thought would go well with another outfit I had. I ended up finding something I liked better and so decided to take the sweater back. I had the receipt and the tag was still on the sweater and clearly never worn. Upon trying to return the sweater, I found that this place does not give refunds AT ALL. Not only that, but they would not even give me store credit as my receipt was more that 10 days old. TEN DAYS! The outrageous return policy combined with the cheaply made clothes, bad customer service, and crowded atmosphere, will keep me away from here for good. There are lots of great clothing shops in San Diego that are reasonably priced without all of that nonsense. read more

The Closet! I have to stop in all the time and see what's new. I always buy all my tank tops for really cheap and in every color here. The yoga pants are really comfy and cheap too. this store is amazing! they don't ALWAYS have cute clothes, but most of the time you'll find something. if you're looking for basics (undershirts, tanks, etc.) definitely stop by this store! they always have anything you would want (plain tanks, long tanks, pocketed tanks, lacey tanks, v-neck t-shirts, regular t-shirts etc) and they always have every color of the rainbow and they're about $3-$4. best deal ever! i LOVE this store! but remember, wash any trendy clothes you buy here with cold water (preferably on a gentle spin cycle, low to medium) and hang them to dry. trust me, you'll never have a problem with cheap clothes coming apart in the washer/dryer again. i've had clothes from similar stores to this for years. read more
