This deli was in a convenient location since we stayed at the hotel across the street. They offer a large variety of sandwiches, salads, and drinks. The service is somewhat fast but you can tell the food is of decent quality. They have limited seating inside but have additional tables outside.

Crispy Chicken Chipotle Wrap. Missing the Chipotle Sauce and Garlic Aioli

I've had pleasant experiences here except for today. They use Toast for online orders. I placed an order at 6:31 pm for a Chipotle Chicken Wrap and a Chopped Cheese Sandwich. I arrived around 6:35 pm and sat outside while I waited for my order which was estimated to be ready by 6:45 pm . They seemed pretty busy and I had just placed the order less than 5 minutes ago so I sat outside while I waited for the pick up text and alert from Toast which I've always gotten. 6:50 pm came and nothing....No big deal, again, they seemed busy and the app still showed "preparing your order" and I had not gotten a text either. Around 7:00 pm one of the workers was handing out an order to a gentleman sitting next to me and asked me if I was waiting for an order and I said "yes, an online order" and asked for my name and said she would go check and never came back. By then, the small rush had cleared out. There was no one in line, I know because I was going to order a drink and peeked in but decided not to and figured it wouldn't be long before my order would be ready. At 7:10 I walked in and waited and asked how much longer because it's still showing "preparing your order" and showed her the app. I even refreshed it in front of them. She asked for my name again and my order had been sitting there since 6:46 pm. Why ask for my name and tell me you're checking on it and disappear? Can't tell me it wasn't ready since it had been sitting there since 6:46 pm apparently. To top it off. They got the order wrong. The app asks you to select the sauce you want in your wrap. I chose Chipotle Sauce and Garlic Aioli and No jalapeños. The wrap had no Chipotle Sauce and no Garlic Aioli. They put plain mayonnaise which I didn't ask for. They got the no Jalapeño's part right though. I normally wouldn't care about this but this is what my pregnant wife was craving and she taught it was plain and had no flavor. I'll be fair and give them some grace for technology not always working properly and not updating my order status or sending me the text when my order is ready but asking for my name and telling me you're checking on an order that had apparently been sitting there for 15 minutes and still providing me the wrong order is where I have to draw the line. I hate being the annoying customer that places an order and walks in 2 minutes later checking in to pick it up but apparently you have to do this and make sure they do it properly. *Update* The text confirmation came in at 8:23 pm. Almost half an hour after they close. Ridiculous

Messy but delicious! I honestly Forgot which sandwich I got but it's the one with the Italian cold cut meats and it was delightful! My friend got the London something LOL I don't remember what they were called but this one was extremely saucey and both of our sandwiches were literally everywhere by the time we were done. Delicious nonetheless. Definitely recommend if you are looking to enjoy a nice lunch :)

12/26/2025 Hubby and I were looking for a light dinner of soup or salad as we drove into San Diego in the current rain storm. We bypassed Panera and found this deli. This quaint corner little deli had indoor and outdoor seating. The employee/owner? Was so friendly welcoming us in and making sure we were comfortable to ask any questions about the menu items. Our soup and salad went out the window when we saw the "Low Carb Plate". We chose the steak option (+$4) and had broccoli and asparagus as our two vegetables. Then I chose clam chowder as our side. Hubby grabbed a pasta salad from the fridge but it was okay. Nothing as impressive as our dinner. The steak was tender, seasoned and cooked well. The asparagus and broccoli were grilled just as my hubby likes it. The clam chowder was creamy and had good flavor. There were pieces of clam, potato, and celery in each spoonful...until I ate them all. There were so many options for dinner aside from sandwiches, salads, and wraps. We thought we were going to grab a slice of cake for dessert, but we were actually full and didn't get one. Maybe we'll stop by another time this weekend. But don't sleep on this place! It was pretty busy as we sat inside to eat. People were continuously ordering and picking up take out orders. The employee/owner took the time to check in on us between customers and orders.

WOW! All the plates in saw walking into the cute deli vibe with tables and chairs both inside and out looked so delish. When I got my meal, I was delighted. It is SO DELICIOUS. The service was impeccable, offering me a great sub for an item that had run out. Great staff. Thank you!!!

Great little spot next to the Padres arcade parking structure. Roughly a dozen seats with a few inside but a great outside seating area so you want people watch. The sandwich my daughter and I split ahead of the game was fantastic - everything was fresh. Service was great too - food was at our table in less than 10 mins. Really took some convincing to use their bathroom, which I was not a fan of because the floors feel permanently greasy.

Great corner location near Petco Park. The staff was friendly and the menu was very comprehensive offering any and every sandwich or salad option. I stopped in for lunch today and ordered their Turkey Club, and it did not disappoint. The sandwich included many layers and did not skim on the ingredients. The balance of flavors and textures was ideal for a sandwich with so much going on. I'll be back again and sample something else from the menu.

Opted for their protein plate. Filet mignon, broccoli and mushrooms with a side of ceazar salad. The place is particularly busy for the lunch hour. Just started working in downtown so I've been exploring all of the lunch options and have gone back to this place twice now. Tried the godfather and the chipotle wrap so far. This place dont miss. Might be my new go-to. Can get busy during the lunch hour and food does take a little while but prob cuz its so damn fresh. Look at that mf wrap tho

This place is such a gem!!! They have something for everyone! We ordered a wide range of sandwiches and all of them were amazing! You never know what to expect when you visit somewhere with an extensive menu- however Cloud 9 lived up to its name as everything was so good! The service was great- the cashier helped answer questions and was really patient with my indecisiveness. The food took some time to arrive but it felt quite reasonable. There is limited seating inside but more available outside with heat lamps if you get cold. I loved this place and I'll be back for more.

Cloud 9 Deli has been such a great addition to downtown. Their sandwiches and wraps are out of this world! The ingredients are fresh and they have some really great versions of all the favorites. Friendly staff and quick service every time. I've only done takeout, so can't speak much for the ambiance, but there are plenty of outside tables that are arranged nicely under awnings and a couple booths inside. read more

I was craving an Italian sandwich and I happened to see this place on Yelp! Let me tell you how incredible the food was. The Italian cosca was bursting with flavors and the BBQ flatbread was so perfect! Everything was so fresh. We were here for the weekend and had a bunch of different food places, but Cloud 9 was our favorite! John the owner and the wonderful lady who took our order were the kindest! This deli is special--and not just because of the sandwiches (which are incredible, maybe the best in downtown). The guys who run it are some of the nicest people you'll meet. They genuinely care about their customers and the food they're serving, and it shows. The menu is packed with options, but if you're stuck, let them pick for you. They know their stuff. We've been meaning to stop by here but finally did and boy have we been missing out. The owner was super friendly and helpful. We got the Cubano and the godfather and both were great size and delicious. Plus they have beer on tap and a build your own six pack you can take home. The shop is packed full with so many options. It's a nice place and super clean. Definitely will be back again soon to rack up some points on their loyalty program. read more

Crappy customer service, came in at 11:30 on a tues, stood there and waited 5min+ till finally employee came to the register, no greeting no smile. I ordered a sandwich then was told "just so you know it's gonna be at least 20min" to bad I was looking forward to try them out but not enough time on lunch break to wait 20min+ for a sandwich. Today was my third visit. Cloud 9 has not been open long but they got it right with to-go items, eat-in options and price. They have a nice variety of sandwiches, desserts and beverages. Prosecco, good wines and beers make it especially attractive for late-day meals. I had their OG Reuben and french fries and they are as good as I've had at any in Chicago and New York. Cloud 9 is IT. My husband and I tried it after driving by a couple days prior. The employee, seemed like an owner, was amazing! He helped my husband pick what to get and provided great customer service. Very warm hearted. We could tell he loved what he does. The food. So good. Walked past here and saw the yelp reviews and decided to try it. I got the Italian costa and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Ordered it again a few days later for my family and I and everyone loved it. Service is also super nice. 1st time I was walking my dog and they gave him some bacon for a treat, so that was very nice. I haven't dined in but they had a few tables outside that looked cute read more

What keeps me coming back is that the sandwiches are actually substantial. They're packed with ingredients, the bread-to-filling ratio is spot on, and they always have enough sauce to keep everything flavorful without being messy or dry. Most of the time I can only finish half and save the rest for later. I also appreciate that many of the sandwiches come with a small side salad instead of just chips. It's a nice touch and makes the meal feel a little more balanced. The shop itself is casual, clean, and the staff has always been friendly. If you're looking for a solid sandwich spot in East Village, this one is definitely worth checking out.

Roma sandwich - their most popular sandwich - was delicious (tasted bright and fresh from the balsamic vinegar and sun dried tomatoes), Lucca sandwich not so much (tasted too creamy and salty from the cured beef and truffle cream). Price is a bit high, $16-20 per sandwich, but quality is there. If you're only able to finish half the sandwich like me, the store can provide tape to rewrap the sandwich. They have free water. All orders are "to go". There are a few tables and a few benches immediately around the area if you want to eat it fresh. No public bathroom or hand washing station nearby. If you want to save remaining unfinished sandwich, they do not recommend eating it past the 2nd day. Would I drive just for this shop again? Most likely not. It's location, business hours, and lack of public facilities are not convenient for someone living or working outside downtown area. If I worked around here, I would for sure come back.

Folks, let me tell you something. I've been to a lot of delis. The best delis. Tremendous delis. But Cloud 9? It's like the Trump Tower of delis--classy, luxurious, and absolutely spectacular. They call it Cloud 9 for a reason, okay? Because when you eat here, you're on Cloud 9. Maybe even 10. Who's counting? First of all, the sandwiches. Oh, the sandwiches! Huge. I mean, big-league sandwiches, folks. You've got meat piled so high, you need a ladder to finish it. And the wraps? Out of this world. So tender, so juicy--it's like the filet mignon of meals. Only the best cuts, folks. None of that fake sandwich meat you find elsewhere. The staff? Amazing. They treat you like royalty. When I walked in, they said, "Mr. Trump, we've got your table ready." I didn't even have to ask. Classy operation, folks. Everyone's smiling, everyone's happy--just like America should be. And the atmosphere? Beautiful. Clean. Modern. They've got me picturing clouds everywhere. It's like eating in the sky, but better because you're surrounded by incredible food. If you don't try Cloud 9, you're making a HUGE mistake. Trust me. The best Deli and the friendly staff, I just don't recommend going between 12 or 1 p.m. unless you have enough time because the waiting time is 30 minutes or more for the lunch time of the workers in the area but the wait is worth the best sandwiches in Downtown read more
