I've been waiting to try this place for quite sometime. I decided to try it on a (Padres) game day. My mistake on that one, so finding parking was as difficult as it could get with general downtown parking and added on from the game. I decent sized menu and they have lots to pick from even if your not in the mood for just a sandwich. They had a deli case for cakes too, chocolate, carrot, cheesecake, Oreo. I passed on that today, I'm with a little regret on that but I'll be okay. The sandwich I ordered was the OG Rueben. I didn't want to take too long looking so I scanned the menu and picked rather fast. To my surprise the sandwich came with Dijon and not Russian dressing. The sandwich overall was good, decent amount of meat, sauerkraut. The zingy touch of the Dijon was different. I think overall I prefer the Russian blend. Served with a pickle, overall it didn't disappoint. Next time I'll take my time and order and sit down. But I had parked in a loading zone, so I ordered quickly and got my food and headed out. read more

Lives up to its name! Cloud 9 has amazing sandwiches and friendly, quick service. Big Italian Goombah had plenty of meat, cheese, veggies, and sauce to provide an all-around taste experience. This place is finally opened and it replace (in my opinion) a terrible bagel shop. So right off the bat it got a star for that. Their menu is huge and it looks like they plan on staying open for dinner offerings as well with the flatbreads and burgers. On my first visit today I decided to try out their Turkey Gobbler(Thanksgiving sandwich) and their Cubano. The Gobbler was great although next time I'd opt for no cream cheese. Their bread is great and their portions are perfect. The cubano was delicious and while i've only had a few other cubanos, this was up there with the best. Both sandwiches came with a pickle which is always appreciated. Also picked up some chips, solid variety of offerings and got two beverages which is also a solid variety of choices. I appreciate the asian green tea bottles that aren't just the usual american tea choices (yuck). Customer service was great, the person at the register was welcoming and really made it feel like she wanted to be there. One of the kitchen crew members was also coming out and welcoming people in. The shop is small but well thought out. Some seating indoor, if this place had a line it would feel a bit cramped but still not bad for what they are working with. I hope they are here for the long term because i'll be making regular visits. Looking forward to trying more of their stuff. read more

I heard about this place because my friend has gone a handful of times already even though they just recently opened. He has been raving about their sandwiches and he brought me one a few days ago (Italian Cosca). The sandwich was delicious and had lots of meat. The Italian dressing gave it an extra bit of flavor. I knew I wanted to go there and try another sandwich to see if their other ones were just as good. My friend and I went today and I got the Cubano sandwich. For a new spot, it was pretty busy so you know it must be good! All the seating was taken except for two tables. The service was great. Carla was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food came out pretty quick. The sandwich was really tasty, very cheesy. I liked the pickles and mustard on it. So I've now tried two sandwiches so far that have been great! Went here today. There were maybe 2 or 3 people waiting for sandwiches. We ordered the god father and roast beef sandwhich. Took over 40 minutes!!!!!! Like how?! There was one girl working the front and the rest of the employees in the back making the sandwiches. We were super disappointed and the sandwiches were not up to par or worth the wait. I've ordered here on uber eats in the past and the driver literally canceled on me and they had to reassign my order because the wait was so long. This place was a find! It is just a few blocks from downtown and Petco park. Just far enough that the tourist crowds have not found it. They have a large selection of sandwiches and salads. The prices are reasonable. I had breakfast scramble sandwich which was huge and excellent . I took half home. My partner had a grilled chicken sand which which she said was 'good". Parking is on the street. We were there on a Saturday so business was light but I imagine noon on a weekday would be busy. I tried this sandwich spot with a friend when we were catching up downtown. The food was cooked well, even a bit classy as it came out on glass plates for a sandwich shop. I tried their iced coffee, which was delicious. The wait time was a bit wild for there not being many people waiting... I'm not sure if there are staffing issues or if it was just a bad day. The server assumed that my friend and I were on a date, which I thought was funny but a bit presumptuous. Anyways, I'd come back! Friends recommend this spot, and dang they were right. SO GOOD! We tried the Meatball Sub, probably the best I've ever had. The sauce was garlicky and you could tell was made with some love. As well as the Garlic Cilantro Jumbo Shrimp Wrap, holy cow, they weren't lying when they said jumbo shrimp Service was so friendly as well! Ok I'll stop gatekeeping this amazing deli. I've been here five times now and ready for number six. This deli is located in East Village. It's very clean, staff is friendly and the menu selections are top tier. The filet mignon sandwich and protein plate are a 9/10. The meatball, London broil, chopped cheese are a 8.5/10 and the crispy chicken chipotle is a 8/10. All sandwiches are a good size and use quality ingredients. If I had to give one area for improvement it would be the wait time after ordering. I think they are still working through some of there processes but expect about a 15 minute during peak times.
