Great place with reasonable prices. I came here based on a recommendation and I was so excited to try this place for my bday last year. I brought a friend and we both enjoyed our services. It's a basic place with basic amenities, though the therapists are hard working and wonderful. Pressure was firm, which I really appreciated, as my body was tense and needed the release. I had a hot stone massage last year and it was really good. The hot stones penetrated into my body to help relax my body even more and I felt the tension melt away. I came back this year and got a massage which was also good. I marked the areas of focus and the therapist was great at hitting all those pain points to release. We went for lunch on main street as there are not a lot of food/drink options nearby. They have a refer a friend special, so bring a friend you can get a 60 minute massage for $45! They are usually pretty busy on the weekends, so I would recommend booking in advance. Though they also have some walk-ins and are pretty accommodating to these requests. read more

How is this place rated so highly? My husband and I came here for a couples massage. He had jesse and I had James. We filled out the chart for which areas we wanted the masseuse to focus on and both selected the medium pressure option. My husband enjoyed his massage. However for me, this was the most painful massage I've ever had. I told My masseuse to lessen the pressure at least four times. He literally jabbed his elbow into my whole body the duration of the massage. His scalp massage was literally him scratching at my scalp w his finger nails. My husband even laughed during the massage bc he was slapping my feet around-LOL I don't know how that was supposed to be relaxing?! This was the strangest massage experience I've ever had. I'm so sore and know I will feel it even more tomo. The front desk knew I was not satisfied with the experience and gave me 20% off but I still can't believe I spent near $50 for a painful experience of being elbowed the whole time. I'm giving one star bc my husband had a good experience but -5 stars for my experience. Never going back. Do yourself a favor and find another spot! read more

I have not been able to indulge in a wonderful foot massage for almost 4 months. Going this week did not disappoint. However, it is not the same massage from before. I miss the face and head massage. Jerry was great. The health precautions they took were very satisfactory. I felt more safe social distancing there than I do at Safeway! After a long wait for Cloud 9 to re-open I finally got the massage that I've been needing for weeks! Lina did an amazing job and was very caring about my comfort and cleanliness! Although we're in a pandemic I felt super clean and worry free about the virus! After finding my way into the odd reception area of Cloud 9 Spa, I was pleasantly surprised with the tranquil decor and comfortable spa lounger that I was asked to lay on. The music and lighting were soothing, my feet were soaking in warm water, and I was given a floral warm beverage to sip on and relax. My massage was perfect! My knots seemed to disappear and my tailbone no longer hurt during my time there. I am looking forward to my next visit, and plan on making this a monthly routine. Great prices and worth every penny! Truly a trip to Cloud 9. I had the 80 minute foot and body combination, the best of both worlds. First of all, I was scared by some of the negative reviews. In fact, I refused to being placed with a male massage therapist after reading them.. However, I just got off an airplane and was desperate. The truth is the place is ok. Not terrible or even good. It is a solid C minus. The location is odd. It is next to a motel diner. The signs for the parking lot are anything but clear. I walked in and the venue was freezing, as cold as a witch's tit. I asked for the heater to be on. I got undressed and lied down on a very cold massage table. Soon, my therapist, Wendy, came in. She barely spoke any English. She understood the words, "Strong, neck, shoulder," but not much more. I don't think that she was a licensed CMT. She proceeded to knead the sh*t out of me as fast as she could. What I didn't like was the fact that she pulled the sheet off me and I spent very awkward moments of the massage with my mushy bits exposed. Eventually, she did cover me with a towel. However, sharing is not caring. Oh-and the face holder on the table smelled sort of funny, like it was not changed after every patron. Wendy's pressure was good, but she massaged me too quickly. She worked on my knots by popping them back and forth like it was a ping pong. She did a good job on my neck. Her technique on my legs was nil. She also never touched my feet. She did take off in the middle of my massage for a long time to grab hot towels and spent a long time wiping me. I would have preferred to have been massaged instead of being wiped off. Isn't that why we shower afterwards? She also finished early. Not fifteen minutes like some of the reviews, but a little more than five. I know because I timed her with my iPhone after reading the reviews.. She started a little after 7 pm and was out of there at 7:54 pm. read more

I booked an appointment for three people we were in so happy looking for it for full body one hour massage the problem was at the end of the appointment when we were all getting ready to leave we found out that the receptionist wasn't there anymore since our appointment was from 8-9pm so my husband had a $20 bill witch we wanted to get change of 2 of $10 to give 10 to each one of the girl that gaved us the massage so they were all fighting in their own lenguaje in front of us witch it was really awkward for us just standing there trying to solve the problem one of the girls wanted the whole $20 so we told them that we didn't have anymore cash and if that was a really big issue we could go to the bank and bring them their tip well there pretty upset and kind of didn't want to let us go because the tip is mandatory just to clarify we all wanted to give a $15 tip to each one of them but we normally pay at the end of app and they ask how much tip you want to leave to we didn't have much cash with us and that was the big issue I felt so bad and they were so upset and couldn't even comunícate good with them because they didn't speak any English so we left with a really bad end experience It just made us feel so embarrassed that they were so angry when it was never our intension to just leave each one a $10 tip read more

Went there for a one hour foot massage. Amazing! I left totally relaxed! Foot massage includes a head/face rub and shoulder rub. Flower tea, beautiful chairs, nice music. Parking is in back of the building, easy. Had a fireplace - unlit, and lots of candles around, also not lit. Christmas lights outside - not plugged in. I had a relaxing experience when I had a full body Swedish massage from Louie. At first I was hesitant to have a male masseuse, however Louie was professional and respectful and I quickly relaxed and almost fell into a slumber. I gave little instruction as the pressure during the massage was just right and he would often ask if it was too soft/hard. The massage oil was gently removed with hot towels and the massage concluded with a nice cup of herbal tea. The place is professional, clean and reasonably priced. My husband & I went to Half Moon Bay on vacation for two nights. While he was golfing, I went to Cloud 9 Foot Spa on the recommendation of our hotel, which was right next door to the spa. I was able to get a last minute appointment for a 90 minute hot rock full body massage. The massage therapist and receptionist were very pleasant. The place was clean, neat & well organized. I was nervous when I saw the foot massage chairs in the middle of the room & only curtains separating them, but I was taken back to a separate, private, curtained room for my massage. The massage was over-all a good massage. It was quiet & relaxing, the price was reasonable & the staff were friendly. If I were local, I would come back for another visit! read more

Cloud 9 is one of the best massage places around. I've been to a number fo places throughout the Bay Area and around the world and I can say that CLoud 9 is one of the best VALUE massages you can get. The massage chairs/tables are some of the best I've seen and the I enjoy the unique "foot massage" style of massage they provide. The "Foot Massage" is a bit misleading as they do indeed massage the head, back, hands, legs, etc as well as soaking and massaging the feet. The feet however are the primary focus. The staff is primarily Chinese and very pleasant . The place is clean and the server a wonderful hot tea with their massage. Again I cannot reiterate enough that for the money this is definitely one of the best values around and I recommend them to anyone. read more

I just got returned home from my first massage at Cloud 9. I moved to Half Moon Bay in December and had heard mixed reviews on Cloud 9. I had only ever had one massage in my life, but lately have been feeling like I could use another. I decided to give Cloud 9 a chance. Luckily their website works perfectly, and I was able to set up an account and book an appointment all at once. I decided to go with a female, as the bad reviews I got were that the men were so rough bruises were left on the client. I'm not into that. My massage therapist today was May and she was amazing. You take your shoes off in a small room before entering the large massage room. You leave your clothes ON (for foot/body at least) which is a big bonus for me. I'm scared looking at myself naked; I don't want to traumatize some other poor soul! May brought me a cup of tea that had flower petals in it. That was pretty neat. The room is a quiet atmosphere, so no talking, 'k? May then brought out a tub of hot water and placed my feet in it. She rolled my jeans up to my knees and instructed me to lie back on this large bed. She laid a towel over my clothes and proceeded to massage my face, ears, head, shoulders (all with clothes on), arms and hands. It was heavenly. I was expecting just the feet, so this was a pleasant surprise. Next she moved to my calves, ankles and feet and gave each a lot of attention. Then she covered my calves with another towel and proceeded to massage the front of my body. She turned me over and holy crap this is where the fun began. She laid a towel over my whole body (clothes still on) and went all deep-tissue on my ass. Or, my body as the case was. She is a tiny little gal but don't catch her outside on a bad day. I have a feeling she can kick some booty, if need be. She contorted me all which ways and although there were times I wanted to punch her in the head in the end it was all awesome. She repeatedly asked if the pressure was too much and since I am a glutton I just said "It's fine." (Which it was!) I am now an hour out and am starting to feel achy a bit. But, I read that is to happen for first-timers. But through the achiness I feel very relaxed and totally intend on going again. They have an awesome deal where you can get a "gift certificate" for yourself that is $250, BUT you get 10 hour-long foot massages (which is what I received above...all of it) for only $25 each time. After your tenth time you can renew again and so on and so forth. That is gonna happen for me. I am already planning on dragging the boyfriend next weekend, although he says he doesn't like people touching him. Methinks he'll like this. It was awesome! Our oldest son gave us a gift certificate for Christmas for each of us to get foot and back massages and every year we usually enjoy it but this year for some reason the front desk girl person ended up getting our order wrong and we had 20 minutes left over which is great but we didn't get the service that we originally came in for which was a 55 minute foot and body massage so with that being said we have to go back now 20 minutes gift certificates which is sort of a hassle because we did not get the service we expected to get and it was the foot and the body massage in one area instead being moved which we usually have. A man came in from the back, said nothing, and went away. A man and woman came in from the back and said hi, and went to the back. Took my husband for his birthday. I was looking for something nice but not overpriced.... hit the jackpot!!! Booked a 40/40 (40 minutes foot massage, 40 minute body massage for $55) a week before arriving. Arrived to a very clean and nicely decorated facility. The foot massage area is semi-private with sheer curtains separating the "rooms". The body massage area is private. Overall, the feeling was "zen". I really liked that when we checked in we were given a diagram in which to indicate what areas we wanted the therapist to focus on & what level of pressure. Everyone was very pleasant & professional. Will DEFINITELY go back when in Half Moon Bay... GREAT VALUE! read more
