When I walked in, I was greeted by two women and they led me into the common massage area, where each massage bed is sectioned off with curtains only. I ended up getting a male massage therapist without any notification. This male massage therapist (I was unable to get his name) made me feel very uncomfortable. Although the foot massage only lasted less than 30 minutes, the head massage and shoulder massage were great. He mainly focused a lot of the time during the massage in my glutes and inner thigh areas. Once finished, he quietly whispered in my ear, "see you again soon." As a woman, this made me VERY uncomfortable. I tried expressing my concerns directly to the massage therapist afterwards, but he ran to the back right after the massage. When I was paying, I expressed my concerns to the woman who greeted me. She disregarded my concerns and only focused on the next customers coming in. As someone who frequents massages regularly and was excited to try a new spot, I will NOT return. I wrote this similar review on Google Reviews, and they reached out to me personally, trying to cover up their faults by offering a free massage at a place where I was harassed.

They have foot reflexology options, massage options, and combo. I did 30 minutes reflexology and 30 minutes full body massage for $60. My reflexologist had VERY strong hands, and he was kind enough to check in every so often to ensure it wasn't too much pressure. It was a bit cold in there, but other than that, I'm please with my experience and will return.

Called for a same-day appointment and the woman who answered the phone was very polite and accommodating. When I asked to confirm pricing from what is on the site, those are up-to-date and accurate. They are very easily located on Silber right after the entrance to the Edwards Theater. The lobby is clean and not dark and sketchy, with no cheesy music playing or blackout curtains. I went for the Combo #2 (80 mins total, 40 mins back/shoulder and 40 mins feet/head/arms) and Helen took the most amazing care of me. The pressure was hard, which I needed, but not painful; she truly worked on my issues and didn't just rub oil on my back. When we were finished, I got dressed and went into the other room for her to do my feet and I just wanted to sleep. She placed a warm therapy pillow on the lower part of my back and got to work while my feet soaked in a tub of warm/hot water. Helen proceeded to really work on my feet, legs, and toes! But only after she did a great job on my head (why do head massages just put me to sleep?) and then neck and shoulders and then placed a warm therapy eye pillow on my face to allow me to really sink into the second part of my appointment. Fancy spas are great if you are looking for that. But if you are truly looking for a quality experience with very professional people, I cannot recommend Soul Retreat Spa enough. Eh. Booking was super easy, I was able to book online in the middle of the night for the next morning. I was looking for a good foot massage from a recent marathon, so this place seemed perfect. I like that you can add a body massage to your package. I booked a 40/40... 40 mins on feet, 40 mins on body. I also added hot stones, which I highly recommend. That was the best part. Sadly, the stones weren't used on my feet like I thought since my nail salon does it during a pedicure. I booked a foot and swedish massage combo and was kneaded like bread. I'm like, 'less pressure please', and was told I had knots in my back. I was like 'leave them there' lol I'm still sore and I went yesterday. I thought I was going to have a relaxing massage but I grunted the whole time like a fat man trying to stand up. I'm not a deep tissue massage person, I prefer soft and relaxing. Give me the old lady special. Not my type of massage, but the place was nice with easy parking. Friendly workers and receptionist. I received a discount to make a Google review at time of check-out. I came in with a really sore neck and shoulder...I could barely move my head, my friend booked me the appointment on the same day and she requested Jennifer at this location. The parking is in the back of the building, and there was plenty spaces when I arrived around 12 pm. The front desk lady was very warm and efficient, she asked me if I had anywhere on my body that is bothering me and ask me to circle the problem areas and passed it on to Jennifer, the massage therapist. Jennifer is one of the best MT I have ever had, not too much difference from Houstonian Spa! She was able to give me lots of relieve on where I had pain on my neck and shoulders. I am so glad there is a place in my hood than driving all the way to Chinatown. Cloud 9 is extremely clean and professional and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to de-stress their long day, warning-you may snore away because they know how to relax you. If you like this place the first time (which you will), I recommend getting the package deal, you get more for your buck. I usually visit once a week and I am greeted with a warm and friendly welcome on a first name basis. Last minute appointments are available and I love using the phone app - mind body connect, with a couple of clicks and I am booked. I usually request for William and his pressure is just right, medium to deep tissue and always consistent. I feel like I'm on Cloud 9 after getting my massage there. read more

WOW!!! Angela is AMAZING! Truly gifted and skilled. I have had many many professional massages in my life and hers are hands down the very best! she is always very mindful to curate the best massage for me that day depending on where I am holding the most tension. she pays attention and she doesn't just run through a routine. She makes me feel very cared for and respected. she is very strong but always magically knows when to apply that strength or to be more gentle. I'm a regular costumer at Cloud 9. After leaving the spa room the other day, just before i made it to the reception area i realised i forgot to put my pants on. Thats how good their massages are!! My aunt has been going through chemotherapy for almost a year now. One of the side effects from the treatment was the loss of sensation in her hands and feet (due to neuropathy). She's been going to Cloud 9 regularly for feet & hand massages along with weekly acupuncture sessions at the hospital. I had an amazing experience with Jenny at Cloud 9 Foot Spa! From start to finish, she was incredibly attentive and focused on the areas of tension in my body. Her level of intensity was perfect--firm but not overwhelming--and I could feel the relief immediately. Four days later, I'm still feeling relaxed, with no lingering tension in those areas. I live in the area and happened to come across Cloud 9, driving by one night. I decided to stop in and see what it's about....to my surprise, we now have a place for foot massage! I work a lot of hours as a nurse and I am on my feet a lot...so I decided to try them out. What a pleasant surprise! It felt so good and I was completely relaxed afterwards...my feet needed it! I have an hour foot massage with Jack and he was awesome. He knew all the pressure points and applied just the right amount of pressure. The back and shoulder massage after the foot massage was wonderful, my lower back felt much better afterward. Jack is a very thorough and experienced masseuse. I would highly recommend him to everyone. I like the decor and atmosphere inside the spa, especially the darken rooms and soothing spa music. You felt instantly relax once you stepped inside the spa. I've been going to Cloud 9 Spa for a couple of years now and to me, the services are amazing and at a reasonable price. I've had several therapists and all were pretty darn good but only a couple stood out, which were Barry and Mark. They have special hands. My last appt was with Mark and he was so awesome! Cloud 9 Foot Spa at West U is my family's favorite massage place in all of Houston! We've done the fancy, more expensive spas, but Cloud 9's therapists provide the best massages. We love the clean, COVID safe, low intensity atmosphere and great prices. I recommend a 90 minute deep tissue massage with Lina or William for time to treat your whole body. Since when did the business be entitled to tell me how much tip to leave? I left a 17% tip but the lady at the front desk made me feel bad about it. Not sure I will return. The place is located in a commercial shopping strip on the corner, near like a beauty supply store etc. There is plenty of parking out front. There is construction going on around it, but not bad enough to obstruct the business. Once I arrived inside. The kind lady at check-in ushered me into the room. I saw clipboards on the desk, and as we were walking, I asked, "Shouldn't I complete the forms (since I was technically a new customer)?" She said there was no need. That was strange. Didn't they want to know my info? Once inside and the services started, the therapist, I will say, did use sweedish techniques and also full body stretching. There were moments of relaxation. But overall, it was just ok. Sometimes, even a little rough, which I verbalized to her. She never really answered me back when I would say things, but she did try and adjust the pressure. Im going to presume she did her best? The lights were on during the part where I was lying on my front, which was interesting. But once I was on my back, she dimmed the lights. The bonus - She did do hot stone on my back, which I was surprised about. Because this is normally a separate charge for most places, as it's an add-on service. But they didn't charge me more for it. Maybe they include it with the swedish massage? Either way, I appreciated that. At the end, I asked for the therapist name as she was walking out, and she said Angela. I bet a lot of people probably really enjoy Angela. She did exactly 55 min hands-on. But it just was not a worthwhile experience to come again. The nice lady at the desk that had checked me in, of course, asked how my massage was. I tried to explain, but I'm not sure she understood what I shared. I likely wouldn't visit again, but I am so glad others have come here and enjoyed their experiences, hence their 5 star rating.
