They are going to need go back to calling these doughnuts because these bagel sized balls of sugar are huge! The flavors are great, however if it is glazed the flavors tend to lack as you get through the doughnut. But the ones that are filled....yummy! Absolutely recommend! I've been delaying coming here because I'm on a diet lol but it's Friday so why not. I came in with intentions to get donuts but was told the sweet potato cinnamon roll is to die for. I am not a sweet potato girl but took it home with intentions to give it to my mom. I purchased donuts as well. My favs were the lemon cream and the maple butter pecan. These donuts match the businesses name to a T. The donuts were lights, fluffy and so soft. So I get home, open the box and decided I can just taste the sweet potato cinnamon roll and just spit it out if it doesn't sit well. I ate the entire thing y'all, it was soooo good. Donuts hold a special place in my heart. They bring back childhood memories of my grandfather coming home from work EACH day with a box of donuts (he owned a sanitation business and one of his customers was a local donut shop). Cloudy Donuts transport me back to my childhood excitement for a sweet and doughy treat and reminds me of him. The donuts are light in consistency and the flavors and offerings are delightful. I want to be happy and excited about a vegan donut place in Brooklyn Heights -- but the inventory management has caused a lot the excitement to die. I went once w my sister at 11 am (photo below) and ~30ish donuts were straight out of the oven. There were about 6 flavors. They were definitely tasty but wanted to try another before I formed my opinion. There was no line at that time. The next two times I came back -- once at 1pm and once at 3pm on Saturday and then Sunday (the same weekend), they were out of donuts. The first time, they were out of dough. The second time, they only had cinnamon rolls available. No updates re stock were given on instagram. I guess you can attempt calling before heading over. But now I really don't want to make the effort to go an hour away to the location because it feels very unreliable. Why have a donut shop if you are not planning to have stock? I typically don't like donuts since I tend to find it heavy at times but was interested in trying Cloudy due to their unique flavors (and it being vegan). The donuts were a yeast donut, it had a tough texture when you bite into it. I do not know if the recipe was off or that is the norm. Ok, I get it now. The donuts are indeed fluffy clouds! I was very excited to try this shop as I am always down to try new donuts. First off, the service was amazing - they were so patient while we chose from the many flavors (maybe 7? They have over 40 types and rotate every week). We were going for 2 but somehow ended up with 4 and a tiny one. They also had a cinnamon roll, but we were focused on the donuts. They also have different cold brew varieties that change weekly, that day it was a honey lavender one - I am not a big fan of floral flavors but this was light and very pleasant. The donut lineup included pistachio, maple pecan, orange creme, berry olive oil and a tiny lemon rosemary. Overall the donuts themselves are perfect, very fluffy and light (clouds). My favorite flavors were orange and lemon because the candied slices on top added a tangy touch to the sweetness of the glaze and it was soooooo good! Maple pecan was amazing as well, more of a Fall vibe to me but perfect. Berry olive oil had some flakes of salt on top that went so well with the olive oil. Pistachio was delicious too! The hype for cloudy donut drew me in to trying it; I hadn't heard of the establishment beforehand. They are currently only open Friday-Saturday and offer 8 or so donut options each week from their 40+ flavors. Today's offerings were pistachio, pumpkin spice sugar, raspberry rose, cookie monster, blackberry mint, maple pecan, powdered, lemon poppy, and blueberry. I opted to try out two donuts (the adorable Cookie Monster and the maple pecan) and the white chocolate macadamia cookie. The cookie was delicious and I was surprised that it was my favorite item. The doughnuts were good, the texture was amazing and definitely is one of the best I've tried vegan and non vegan doughnuts. The flavors left a little to be desired. I've visited the shop three times - every time the staff is more rude than the time before - seemingly annoyed at the mere presence of customers. The neighborhood is a bit of a trek from me, but when I had a non-vegan friend from Baltimore tell me they're the best donuts she's ever had I had to stop by. She was right! I took my family since we are all vegan and this was going to be such a treat. I was too excited to even question the possible of the prices because...its a freaking doughtnut and nothing too fancy. I went on the web site and no prices, and had to revert to good YELP to find anyone mentioning the prices. Seamless has 3 mini doughtnut for $27 which is $9 a dought nut! 9 DOLLARS! but after doing the math and using the tax I paid which was shown on the receipt the only possible cost is $8 a doughtnut, 4.50 a mini hole and $12 for pound cake slice. Its really a bit insane to charge $8 for a vegan doughnut - especially when it isnt that special of a doughnut. Yeah its all topped with something fancy, but the rose petal hole DIDNT TASTE LIKE ROSE, the dought used tastes nice and moist but nothing special compared to other brands that make vegan like DOUGH DOUGHNUTS, and they are average size. My friend ordered 100 donuts for the company black history program. Cloudy donut was given advance notice for this order. My friend was expecting the donuts that they advertise the big fluffy donuts.
