I drive around this area a lot and didn't know about the place, but my wife knew about it even though we'd never been. So I was figuring something for breakfast and she talked me into coming here. Well I'm glad we did, the place has a warm feel about it and it could be a cafe anywhere on a Main Street in America. The staff are pleasant and attentive. Their menu is not complicated yet it's unique, and the coffee I had "Lavender Latte " was delicious. We both ordered the "Bacon & Gruyere cheese ". This dish actually comes with sourdough bread and I'm guessing in a sandwich, but we opted to omit the bread and had the dish made omelette style. Very tasty blend of cheese and eggs with the bacon and spinach. They also have pastries for those that are getting snacks and coffee on the go. Love this place! Came in with my dad for breakfast on a Friday morning. I was surprised how busy it got even on a weekday. The coffee is really great and I appreciate that it's organic. That is really hard to find! The place is cute and service was good. For food I had a panini with egg, bacon, spinach, cheese and avocado on 7 grain. It was really good. My dad has the Taylor ham egg and cheese and swapped out the 7 grain for sourdough. Can't wait to come back and try something else. read more

Cute vibe, great breakfast! This is one of my friend's favorite places, so I tried it one morning while visiting. The atmosphere is homey yet modern - the best fitting for a little cafe. The menu is smaller, but the food delivers. I got a latte and the Bacon and Gruyere breakfast sandwich with extra cheese (5 - fabulous, great sauce, very filling). My friends all enjoyed their meals, and I thought the bananas and apples were a different yet fitting side for breakfast. The missing piece for me was the coffee. I really love the food here. I hadn't been here in a few years but this morning, I took my daughter there for brunch. We had a very aloof waitress which is the reason for the 4 stars. After a longer than normal wait, she came over and said, "Hi, did you have enough time to decide what you wanted?" Actually, I had so much time that at one point, I forgot that we hadn't ordered yet and thought that we were waiting for our food. I got the avocado caprese which was delicious and my daughter got her favorite, the salmon omega. Our food came in a reasonable amount of time although we never saw our waitress again until it was time for the check. When she came over to take the payment, she had the ipad and the Square app. All she needed to do was enter the amount, and hand me the ipad but instead she handed it to me and asked, "Do you want to leave the tip on the credit card or leave cash?" I was apalled! Even my 24 year old daughter thought that was unacceptable. I am fully aware that servers are tipped employees in the restaurant industry (I have a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management) but since when is it a given? I left 15% but I am annoyed that I even left that. If anyone from Cloveberry reads this, PLEASE tell your servers that this is unacceptable behavior, and it's also nice to check on your table at some time after serving them their food. read more

Bit disappointed overall. Anyone who frequents specialty coffee establishments would've spotted the espresso steam wand still caked in milk from the previous drink. Didn't wipe the wand after my drink was made either, so it seems to be the standard practice. I'm concerned about the cross contamination especially for those that have dietary restrictions. The espresso pulled pretty quickly, however I did come at the end of the day so it's possible that it's usually dialed in and I happened to come at the wrong time. Cloveberry is an adorable trendy farm to table cafe! It is absolutely beautifully decorated with beautiful unique wall decor and lighting fixtures! There is a coffee counter where you can order to go or a seating area that the wait staff will take your order from. We got the frozen vanilla latte and Oreo shake both of which were delicious. They have a unique menu so it was hard to pick however we tried the turkey sandwich which was absolutely stuffed with turkey and the grilled cheese with honey adding a whole different flavor. Both sandwiches came with a chickpea salad which I wasn't crazy about. I left with a full belly and the inspiration to go home and decorate!! Seems like a lot of people are regulars and interact more with the staff. It gets a little awkward seating wise as they seem to want to seat you even though it feels totally unecessary, it makes you feel less welcome if you are only there for coffee and not food. The cafe mocha is very good and I'm a bit of a mocha snob (not an a-hole snob, I know what I like kind of snob) and I've tried many of the local Morris/Sussex area choices and in Sussex, this one hits the spot. The place is clean which is always a plus. Prices are typical. They offer some food choices, but not tons, but I think that's the idea. Parking is in the rear, but spaces are limited. Was in town for an overnight stay at a nearby lodge and I needed my Sunday brunch fix before driving back to NY. This place was super easy to find and they even have a parking area! I loved that the cafe is inside what looked like a century old home. It features a wrap around porch with bench seating for when you're waiting for your food or a table. Once you're inside you're greeted by super friendly baristas who take your name for a table. I was kind of surprised there was a wait - I didn't expect this area to be jumpin' like that. But we opted to wait the 10-15 mins. Once at our table I realized then why there was a wait. The space itself is pretty small but it seems like they're not utilizing it properly. My NY mentality automatically kicked in: at least 5 more tables could've easily fit in this space if they were all rearranged - which could alleviate wait times. Think about it Cloveberry! However, it was also nice to be able to eat and have a conversation without having to worry about the next table eavesdropping (or vice versa - I get distracted easily). I first heard about Cloveberry from a co-worker of mine who had gone and loved it. It's kind of hard to spot nestled in the Victorian houses of Main St. Sparta. Nonetheless, I have eaten here four times. Three times take-out, once in. I have to say compared to Cafe Pierrot down the street, this place has phenomenal customer service as well as food, pastries, and yummy beverages. I have tasted antioxidant salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, and turkey avocado panini! Everything was fresh and made to order. Only thing I must say which was a small downfall was the wait when I went to pick up. (10-15 mins.). Understandable for a start-up cafe though! This place is always packed during lunch hours, but that just goes to show how great the food is and how exceptional customer service is! I didn't have a fork back at my office and they went as far as to offer me their silverware when they didn't have plastic! So so nice. Concerned about price? It looks razzy jazzy on the outside as well as in, but it's pretty affordable. ($8- 12). Most of their sandwiches come with a small side salad and some chips.
