Lucky for me, Tropidelic was playing here early October and I happened to be in Dallas for a work seminar. So of course, I popped over here to check them out. The venue has good sound quality with an open stage and room for standing. The show was fun and as always, the bands brought the energy and good vibes. They also hung out after the show to mingle and hang with us which is much appreciated. There's an outdoor area with seating for those who want to chill and drink. No covers are there so if it rains, good luck with the weather part. The bar area has your beer/spirits although it's pricy. Best to drink somewhere else before heading here unless you like spending $8 for a miller lite. read more

Went with family to see Transviolet. I liked the venue, it's small but clean. Full bar, they do charge 20% gratuity automatically and if you aren't paying attention, you might over/double tip. No tables or chairs inside which I get because it's a small venue. The outside does have tables w/chairs and another stage. As long as two bands aren't playing at the same time on both stages then the chairs/table aren't too big of an issue. I like that you're allowed to bring minors as we brought my nieces and their friends. I really enjoyed myself as this was one of my nieces and her friends first concert. The vibe felt family friendly and Transviolet was great! I would definitely go back there again. read more

No frills place. Went for a live show last night & the band was great. The show was inside & it's standing room only so bear that in mind when you come. I didn't order a drink or check out the bathrooms so can't weigh in there. One thing I do want to make note of is about their phone number. The phone number on their website (214-742-3400) when dialed manually is disconnected. However, when you touch the number & get a pop up to "call this number", the number shown is different (214-712-3400). The second phone number is the phone number for the TX 5th Circuit Appellate Court and the lady that answers their phone apparently doesn't think it's in the least bit comical and she's probably not the face of customer service Club Dada wants... read more

Dada is classic Deep Ellum, a stripped down music venue with an underground vibe that provides "reach out and touch you" closeness to the artists who perform here. With a long bar along one wall, a stage in the corner, lots of open space to mill around in, Dada is a casual general admission venue that provides lots of room to move around. We came to see Transviolet on her first US tour. I suck at estimating crowds, but I'd say there were 100-120 people there. We were in the very front, touching the floor monitors, and never felt a crush. Trees, across the street, always feels tight, even when it's half full. it may be that I've only seen metal shows there and Transviolet is dreamy girl-pop. But the audience and the venue just seemed more chill. We didn't have cocktails, but the prices were characteristically high for Deep Ellum venues (stupid high). I bought a couple beers, can't remember the price, but just bit the bullet and rolled with the experience. The ceiling is high enough that the mix is consistent from front to back. There are only two toilets which is a wtf move if you ask me in a venue this size. I can't see a concert working here in pandemic times. Hopefully, before too long we will be able to come back here safely to enjoy some more live music! read more

I got to visit Dada for the first time this past Friday night with a group of associates. It was my first time to Deep Ellum & it most definitely won't be my last time. Overall, I had a good time we were LIT all night! Now my only two cons was the drink pricing and music. I personally didn't order a drink but others I was with did and let me tell you $15 for an LIT is RIDICULOUS! Although they were strong that is crazy nor were we in Uptown where you normally expect high pricing. Now for the music, the DJ or DJs didn't really pay that close attention to who was spinning but I was hoping for more recent hip-hip music to vibe to. The mix was good seeing as it was a mixed crowd but I was yearning for a bit more to bounce to but that's just my personal opinion. However, the music that was played kept the crowd moving. Will I return? Probably so but I'll be sure to drink beforehand. read more

What a disappointment, and disservice to the musicians who sold 300 tickets to their show tonight, and patrons who were looking forward to this show. C'mon Dada. Cozy venue, not big but not too cramped. One of the many many music spots you'll find in the heart of Deep Ellum. Dada is serving up live music and strong drinks! I love their outdoor patio and stage, lots of space to spread out and its always nice to get a breather outside during a night of crowds and loud music. The bartenders are kind and work as quickly as possible, plus you get a good pour. At least my vodka-pineapples were super strong! The sound here is great. Okay - I finally saw this place in the daylight. I enjoyed some drinks on the patio, and then watched my friend's band play inside (shout out to Regatta De Faux). First off the patio is huge! There's a nice stage in one of the corners, and the patio is dog friendly. There was the cutest puppy there last night. Can't wait to check out a band there. There was one bartender working last night, and he was awesome!! Super friendly and on top of things. The sound system is also amazing!! As you can tell I'm in love with this place. Sound was great, intimate venue. But it was 20 degrees outside and the front door was open all night, it was maybe 40 degrees at best inside. No where to sit, and for $15 to get in the door and an $80 bar tab, i would have appreciated being able to take my jacket off. Even the artists expressed that they were uncomfortable, and the door stayed open all night. Hard to play guitar with stiff fingers. read more

Omg, I love club Dada! Like literally so fun. So we usually go on Saturdays its rarely a line, music is live! The crowd is about 21-28. Everyone dances, cool lights, great atmosphere. The bar is usually a little fast whenever you finally get there attention over the loud music. Now, on Fridays I think that's nights were most bands perform. It's still fun just a little more calm. The drinks are kind of expensive but I mean what do you expect in Deep Ellum? I would recommend. 8/10. read more

Came here for a concert and was not disappointed!! Sound quality is really great here, unlike a lot of smaller live venues, where it can be raspy or just bad. Great open space both inside and outside. Our bartender was really nice and made amazing lemon drop shots! I'll 100% come back here for more concerts. We just went to this venue in Deep Ellum on Thursday night for a P.O.S show. I knew I was in for a treat after hearing that's the venue he would be performing at. Tickets to shows at this venue are never very expensive. The venue itself is small and intimate. I believe the inside holds less than 100 people. The stage is little, but the perfect size for the venue. I've been to this venue three times. Every time has been a great experience. I love concerts here because of how close you are to the artist who is performing. Every show I've been to, they've even come out into the crowd to perform. Merch is located towards the front of the venue. There is a small area to sit here as well. Good set up for meeting the musicians after they perform. They do have a full bar here. Decently priced drinks. Friendly bartenders. The outside has a patio area as well. I don't usually go out there, but it's a nice place to sit and chill if you're not a fan of the opener or are waiting on the show to start. The only downside here is the bathroom situation. It's one of those bathrooms that has one toilet, so you know... As a woman, you'll have to wait a lot of the time. Still, it's a small venue, so I expected the bathrooms to reflect on this. Overall, awesome venue that I will continue to visit. Hoping for more of my favorites to perform there. read more

A great venue for music that offers an intimate atmosphere. Also offers a spacious outdoor patio area! Not the best place though for more complicated cocktails, but they can definitely hook you up with simpler drinks such as vodka tonic, rum and coke, etc. Oh, and they also offer a good selection of beers. FYI: Club Dada & Stub Hub is a rip off! I bought a VIP ticket to see Madchild in Dallas. He cancelled, so I did not go. Club Dada claimed to Stub Hub the show happened. Stub Hub claims 100% guarantee, but that's bullshit. DO NOT use their service. Not only are they not fulfilling the guarantee but they were very rude. I'm out $159.00 for a show that didn't happen. Also, Club Dada's phone number is bogus. It goes to Dallas County Appellate Court. read more

No AC at a show in July. The indoor temp was above 90 degrees for a show and they have the audacity to charge for water. They also have no contact number, the two on their site are either disconnected or route to a court office. The whole place only has two tiny and dirty bathrooms too (one each M/F). read more

It's got that dingy dive bar feel that complements perfectly if whoever you're going to see has that dingy dive bar feel going for them. If the band is doing a more acoustic-type of set, you'll probably hear the bass from the bars next door thump through the walls. I thought that was kinda funny. Overall, it's a dark room with a stage. There's really nothing to it. Expect long lines to the bathroom, which is basically an indoor outhouse, but hey, what else is new when it comes to concert venues? read more

Deep Ellum has been abandoned and neglected, and so many people miss out on local bars/clubs that are in deep ellum. I came here for a recent yelp event, and it's small but seems like a cool place to visit at night for bands that perform live. I will have to come back and check out the social scene at night, but I was pretty impressed with this small club/bar. read more

My first time at this place and what a crap hole. The music was great, but ended at like 10:00. Shortly thereafter (10:40) they start yelling at everyone to leave unless you're buying merch. Literally was enjoying a lovely concert when a bouncer literally knocked my drink out of my hand which I had purchased a minute prior. They did NOTHING. I asked a bouncer if he could help me but informed me he was "only the door guy." This was my first time at dadas in deep ellum. I have been to many of the clubs in the district and dadas was one of the better intimate feeling rooms. The stage was very tiny when Twin Temple was performing they often had to contend with each other instead of just being able to let lose. Nevertheless they still put on a kickass satanic show! My biggest gripe is the bathroom situation. Like most of the clubs or bars be ready to stand in line for awhile if you need to use the restroom. This sucks so much for me. One of the side effects of my handicapness is I don't always get a lot of preemptive notice of when I need to pee. So this causes issues when you have to wait in long lines and you constantly thinking about it and not being able to enjoy yourself. The other gripe I had is out back in open area. I just came back from a beautiful night out with the family. We had been anticipating coming to the Durand Jones concert for a while, especially because they haven't been in town since OCT. '17. I've been to this venue before and never had an issue, but tonight was one of the worst service I've had from a bartender. This time was very cringey and uncomfortable. We arrived early and opened a tab, ended up being $201, service was subpar by Madison the bartender, she ignored my family coming up to the bar a few times and even claimed she didn't forget our drink order, after she clearly held my family up at the bar for long and skipping them. My brother got the bands set list and wanted it autographed , I come back and ask for a sharpie, and guess what? This homegirl dares to ask me for more tip $ after I left her $25, yes it was lower percentage than I usually reward but this chick wasn't even at a 20 percent level, then she dares to call me out on it. Yelling my last name as I'm trying to walk away from her, taunting me and trying to embarrass me in front of other patrons. Trying to hold me hostage for a fuvkin Sharpie! Makes no sense, she then went on to ask for $20 additional dollars for the use of the duckin thing. Saying I didn't leave her good enough tip for her to lend me a sharpie..WTF! Dada get rid of this plague, I ended up scratching my original tip amount from the receipt and giving this nasty person $40 in cash so she can shut up, homegirl immediately changed her stance when my chola companion came to my defense. Acted like I was the one with the issue. I threw that chick another $5 because the broski lost the damn marker. Anyway, Learn to treat a customer Madison, understand we tip based on YOUR performance. I love music. Music is a huge part of my life. So whenever you get to experience the music that you love in a live concert setting, you want to get the most out of that event. Club Dada is a venue, like a lot of other venues in Deep Ellum, that will give you great performers in a intimate setting. Yeah, it's cool to see concerts in large arenas with pyrotechnics and lasers and smoke, but most of the time you're sitting so far away, you might as well be at home watching it on TV. Dada is laid out perfectly. Once you enter, there's a large bar on one side of the room, DJ in the back, and the stage on the other side. There's a lot of room on the floor, a lot of space at the bar, and space on the stage. The sound system is cool for a venue of this size. The acoustics aren't brilliant at all (there's a concrete floor and brick walls...what do you expect), but the sound is nice and enjoyable. The drinks are good, even though I wish they could at least have some Heinekens available, but I compromised and had something else..I'm not difficult. While I was in there, I saw the large back patio through the doors...it seems like an awesome spot when the weather is nice and you just want to relax and drink. Club Dada is a cool spot. Sure they're doing construction right in front, they have been doing construction on Elm Street for about 20 years now, so I don't see that going away any time soon, but don't let that deter you! I'm a personal fan of this venue and have even played a show here. I especially liked seeing Norwegian artist Sondre Lerche and loved that classic intimacy with the artist that you get in Deep Ellum clubs. I must admit... there is a fine line between "intimate" and "depressing" especially when a lack of audience is obvious (referring to my own show). Then it begins to feel like you're just alone in your bedroom. I think all Dallas clubs in general could do a much better job in drawing crowds to their venues. I did, however, read in the Dallas Observer about a very recent change in management. They're trying to better advertise their shows and make Club Dada a cool place to be - especially with the decline of Deep Ellum. I really hope they succeed. read more

Dada consistently books the most current, relevant Indie and electronica acts that come through Dallas, as well as Americana, Math Rock, and virtually every other genre of music that is under appreciated. Solid beer selection (totally the way to go, bang for buck-wise). Cover is never more than $15. The sound is better than most places in Dallas. You can sit, smoke, drink and listen to bands you'll never have to hear on the radio, if you're lucky. Seriously, Granada---are you even trying? read more

I go to see a lot of live music so I end up at Dada fairly frequently. Unfortunately, I'm never that excited to see a band I follow play here. Not that there's something overtly wrong with the venue (and I have had some good times here) there's just is nothing special or exciting about this place. The stage is an awkward shape, in an awkward corner, at an awkward height. The shows are intimate, yes, but the view isn't especially good from any angle, not to mention the pillars that obstruct your view if you're standing towards the back. The one-at-a-time restroom situation that is always an issue, the drinks are overpriced (for Deep Ellum) and the back/outside area is a dark, dirty, and seemly abandoned. Maybe I have especially high standards for music venues. Maybe I see the wasted potential of this space. And maybe I'll wait to see that band I like at Trees next year.. read more

For a first timer to Club Dada on a stormy, tornado filled Tuesday evening to see Here We Go Magic--I have to say their venue hosted one of the most memorable and fun times I have ever had at a show. When I arrived at the venue, it wasn't more than 15 minutes until that vicious storm knocked out the power on the whole block. Dada's response: shots on the house! Throughout the whole show, the vibe of the venue kept the crowd and the bands very relaxed despite the two power outages (one lasting for around 45 minutes) we had that evening. The show went on, in near complete darkness, acoustically. When the power did return, the sound was great. It's a supremely spacious room and the crowd wasn't at all huge so there was tons of space to weave in and out of the crowd, if need be. The only thing that irked me was the light control on the stage. When the band asked for the lights to be lowered, they couldn't figure it out and continued to flash the lights on and off for five minutes until the singer told them to just shut them off completely. Here's to you, Dada. I'm impressed. I'll be heading back to your venue time and time again. read more
