You will not be allowed to have additional guests even for a few hours, therefore it is very safe and private. I love the architecture which ranges from Mexican Baroque to traditional Spanish Colonial and the entire compound has cobblestone streets and cement walking paths. There are several little gardens of roses and other lovely flowers making this a great place to take walks and enjoy the scenery. The large pool/jacuzzi area has plenty of lounge chairs and shaded seating, a shuffleboard court, a gym, and a banquet room. There is also a large surfing beach with several sturdy palapas for all guests and owners to use. A visit to Las Gaviotas is certainly a treat. I love to relax, enjoy a good book followed by a leisurely walk, then swimming and a relaxing dinner when I visit.

We stayed in house 137- the only issues we had was a broken umbrella which wasn't a huge deal at all especially since it was pretty chilly during our stay and the showers are not ADA. I had to get into the shower and help my mom in as it's a tub with no way in except about 2 feet high and no rails to hold on to. We will definitely be back!!

Hotel Hacienda Bajamar is such a beautiful resort that is best experienced at a slower rate. We were there for our friends wedding so we stayed for 3 days, 2 nights. Their standard rooms are very bare minimum; they do not include microwaves or a refrigerator but you will have your hotel toiletries, towels, hairdryer, iron board, iron, hangers, 4 bed pillows with decorative pillows, comforter blanket, AC, ceiling fan and a tv with basic cable. Around the hotel itself has artifacts and artwork that decorates the hotel nicely. The hotel building itself looks a bit on the older side but I feel like that gives the hotel character and personality. There is one restaurant within the resort and they have a fairly large menu for reasonable prices! Remember what I mentioned about the service situation earlier?! This is where I'd implement the practice of being patient and kind. This is the only restaurant on the entire resort, so they are busy often with room service and catering events all while running the restaurant/restaurant bar. We dined for a dinner and regular breakfast, we waited about 30-40 mins for our food so I highly would not recommend going when you're starving.. We didn't golf, but the ceremony and reception was held at the Infinity Center which overlooks the ocean BEAUTIFULLY during a cloudless day and the sunset is sooooo beautiful. It's been a long time since my last review for La Paloma WIVC and here I am again. I come every…read moreyear or two been doing that for 40 years. It's important to note that La Paloma WIVC is primarily a residential location where people live around or maybe have their vacation homes here. There are two timeshare companies that own properties here. One is world, international vacation club and the other is Worldmark. Your experience here could vary, depending on which timeshare company you use or if you're renting from a private owner so not all reviews are necessarily reviewing the same thing unless they give you unit information or who they're renting from. My experience, we are here from WIVC. We have been using world international for years as I said 40 years at least maybe a little longer. We have been lucky enough to have multiple locations in a small area with its own pool and that has been really wonderful. There's also people who live in this section so there's a mixture of people. This year we had five units for multiple family members to come and get together which is what we usually do typically every other year. I'm currently staying in unit number 61 which is a great two bedroom unit that faces the pool from its balcony. It's a first floor so no stairs and as usual our room is the same as it's been since I've been coming here. We're all international employees a cleaning crew. They clean your room every day and they do everything. I try to help out and wash my own dishes usually but if I leave some in the sink, they take care of that. Once a week in the middle, they changed the sheets the rest of the time they come in and make beds replace all your towels clean the room. It's just really nice. Obviously these rooms are old but they do keep them updated. There's a lot of tile involved. It's a very Mexican aesthetic so I love that about it. One of the negatives might be that there is no air-conditioning in these units, but we know this and we bring fans to keep it cool. The rooms come with everything you need just like any time that you use a timeshare got all of your dishes and cooking utensils full kitchen in the two bedroom unit. You have a master bedroom with a bathroom and there is a common bathroom that can be used for everybody and there is a second bedroom with two twin size beds. So clearly designed for mom Dad and two kids, but it also works out for cousins hanging out together like us! The complex itself is incredibly safe. They have Security walking all the time keeping an eye on things they don't miss much so I feel 100% secure here. Our cars are behind a gated Security gate to in order to get in here you have to go through a security guard and be a resident or have a parking pass because you're staying here on vacation. The landscaping is incredible. It has never changed. It's beautiful garden setting and you really are right on the beach. It really hasn't changed over the years. There are four pools. There are tennis courts. I haven't made it back into the clubhouse this week. I know there's pool tables, but I don't know if they still have the sauna and steam room. I'll update if I get in there. That shows how busy we've been on this trip busy laying in the sun on the beach ha ha There is also an on-site café they're closed on Wednesdays but they have breakfast lunch and dinner. We've eaten there for dinner our first night altogether and it was fabulous. The coconut shrimp is recommended! And family members have had breakfast during this week and enjoyed it so definitely recommended. We had a lot of fun there. Overall, no change in my rating. I've been coming here since I was a teenager and I love it and we hope to continue coming as long as I can.

She was there like 3 minutes. Security shows up and says she cant be in there.. we are like no prob wont happen again. He stays there next to us just staring. After a few minutes we are like, is there anything else? yes, you have to wait for the security manager to come and give you a written warning and if it happens again you will be fined. Like what?! he stands there 10 minutes waiting for manager.. it was so uncomfortable all the guests were staring at us it was embarrassing but funny you wouldve thought we smuggled in cocaine..see pictures.. it was so weird.. There is security everywhere i guess that's good but they were writing citiations constantly i guess thats how they make money on the side!
