One of my friends from our MeetUp Fun Diego Ladies is a regular member here at Club Pilates. As part of her annual membership, she could bring in friends for a complimentary 50-minute class, so we made a MeetUp event out of this special occasion. Mo was our class instructor, and she was very patient, as most of us had never taken Pilates before (I was one of them). We learned the basics on exercises to strengthen our core muscles, with and without the equipment. My favorite part of the class was using the equipment to stretch my legs and back. Mo was a great instructor and was very sweet. As a reward for our hard work, she brought small bottles of champagne and sparkling water and cookies for us. That was very thoughtful of her! If you live near this area, I highly recommend Club Pilates. The place is clean and the equipment is new. It smells fresh and is very tidy. Don't have workout clothes? Not a problem! They have a display of clothing and gripping socks for sale at a decent price. They offer a complimentary 30-minute introductory class if you are new. Come check it out! read more

This review is for the regional manager, Marlena. There has been situations involving members that made me very uncomfortable with how things were handled. One incident involved a member being removed from the studio in a way that felt discriminatory, with comments made about her "smelling like strong spices," which I found incredibly inappropriate. I also saw situations where members' cards continued to be charged even after issues or cancellations were raised. From my perspective, the way management handled these situations felt dishonest and unfair to members. It's unfortunate because the instructors and staff who actually run the classes are wonderful and create a great workout environment. My issue is specifically with the regional manager, Marlena, and how situations with employees and members were handled. I hope corporate takes a closer look at what's happening here, because the instructors and members deserve better leadership. read more

Very unwelcoming. Manager Arlena will have any negative comments deleted, beware this woman does not care about members, she promised me that I could cancel at any time and then continue to charge my card and then got angry at me when I called her out for it. She didn't have time to talk to me face-to-face, but made her employees answer my calls and have to pass along the information that she's instructing them to do. I have known about the toxic work buyer right now. These employees are treated it for quite some time but my favorite instructor was at this class until they were replaced with somebody that the studio only has to pay minimum wage, if you having a specific class and a favorite teacher, do not go to the studio because instructors do not stick around the studio long. They will change classes constantly and drop classes without giving you a warning, they will not let you freeze or cancel your membership and continue charging you hundreds of dollars the regional manager Marlena runs this place like a Ponzi scheme not a wellness studio. read more

I go for classes with Ana, Rose, Mo and they are patient and energetic. I always walk away happy! I also convinced my husband to start Pilates and he loves it too. I'm not one to leave a review but I feel this one is needed to serve as a warning. If you are considering signing up here, please be aware of what you're signing up for. Read through every document you sign, especially the cancellation form. They make it as difficult as possible and will be sure to take as much money from you as possible in the process. You must give a 30 day written notice otherwise they will charge you the FULL price for the next month. I have been paying on this membership for over a year and have not been since July because of various health issues. I have been trying to cancel since late August but was never able to get through because the voicemail box was full. Eventually in the beginning of October I sent a text requesting to cancel and never received anything back(even though they would always send me texts about promos, seems convenient) I finally was able to get through to someone a few days ago and she told me that unfortunately I still had to pay the full $259 to cancel because of the 30 day policy. Extremely frustrating because I have not been using their services since JULY! And have reached out many times to cancel. The girl then proceeded to tell me that the $259 was put towards a credit for me to go in and use it towards classes or retail, which I frankly have no desire to go back there again. What this goes to show me is that they prioritize money over members. read more

this is the best club pilates in sd the girls here are so chill and friendly. they always accommodate if i need to cancel after the 12 hour window and i can reach them pretty easily over the phone, though sometimes i miss them if it's mid class. they have the best water and they let you stop by just to refill (if they're in between classes). my fav instructors are alexa, jessica, and olivia! read more

I LOVE coming here for pilates! The studio is bright and clean and always has nice music playing. The staff is super friendly and helpful any time I have an issue with booking a class or have questions about class content. Parking is abundant and the membership cost is really reasonable. They also offer a discount on the socks and other clothes if you have a membership which makes them super affordable. My reason for 4 stars is the absolute impossibility of using the minimum 4 credit membership a month and actually getting the 4 classes on your schedule. It's gotten increasingly difficult since I started in March to get into 4 classes per month. Sometimes the waitlist for a class is 10+ people, which I have yet to make it into a class with a waitlist that long. I hope they add additional classes and reduce the amount of free intro classes on the schedule, as they're at prime times and the studio seems to be bursting at the seams. It's a good problem to have because everyone recognizes how awesome it is but it's tough at the same time. I'll definitely stick with this studio through the growing pains. read more

Great club- excellent instructors! Nice variety of instructors and classes to fit anyone's tastes and needs. Their policies are clearcut. They don't allow you to walk in late, and they give you until 12 hrs before a lesson to cancel without any penalty. After that it's a $15 fee. The unlimited membership is definitely the way to go! Access to multiple gyms around the city, great schedule, and a variety of equipment, make the company so nice. Chantelle, Julie and Ashley are the best instructors. Super easy parking in the huge lot and easy access off the freeway make it convenient. The free app makes booking classes incredibly easy. I really enjoyed my 5 months there! read more

I took my first full class at this location with Aly and it was a disappointing experience. It was my first time there as well as at least one other student. I told her that I was new and she did not introduce herself or explain anything. The teacher from the class before (Mileena, who seemed amazing) explained things to us because Aly did not. She was just so unenthused and seemed like she rolled out of bed and it was a chore to be there. Her negative attitude made the class a struggle to get through. read more

have been going to this studio for around 9 months. Instructors are all very very awesome with diff styles of teaching and diff vibes. But some of my favorites are Aly- She will give you a good sweat. She is my go-to when I want to push myself. She usually gives verbal corrections to the class as a whole which would be great for shy individuals. I take both reformer and cardio classes from her. Anna- She is very tentative about making sure you have the right form. I love her reformer classes. Mileena- I love her cardio classes. She is very encouraging and she is not shy to tell you to correct your form from time to time in a very positive way. I had heard about Pilates and the positive benefits it provides on your mind and body for years. I was a little nervous trying a new workout and decided to take a few private lessons. Lexi helped build my confidence, strength and knowledge. She made Pilates fun and I instantly loved it. I felt my body getting stronger each week. Eventually I felt confident enough to take a class. I began to take Ana's classes. Ana is an amazing instructor. Her classes are challenging and fun. She teaches with such a natural rhythm and flow class passes quickly. Buyer Beware! I took the introductory class and the gal who signed me up did a great sales job because the the beginner class the next day was full, but she assured me I would PROBABLY get in, but I did not. I could also show up for class and hope maybe someone didn't show up. I looked at the future classes for the time slot I wanted and there was a large number of people already waitlisted. California Law allows you to cancel a contract within 5 days of signing it and Club Pilates contract has that written in and that I was to text or email my request to cancel. I did this and have never heard from anyone despite my many attempts. I spoke with my credit card company and they will dispute the charges for me. Club Pilates La Jolla is a wonderful studio. The studio is very clean. The staff are super friendly and accommodating to your needs. Melannee, the studio manager, is very helpful with answering any questions you may have. So far, I have taken classes with Kat and Nina and both have been fantastic. Be careful and READ your contract! I did not. Instead, I believed what the girl told me, month to month, absolutely no strings. When I stopped going after 3rd class, (I pulled a muscle) and decided not to continue, I was charged $200 for the next two months. Total for 3 months $600. (They offered me a credit, but trust was broken) So, don't believe what the sales rep tells you. And watch their "specials" read the fine print and log email communication. There are plenty of great Pilates studios in San Diego, but unfortunately this is NOT one of them. I feel a need to warn others of the misleading business practices for which I was a victim of so others will not be fooled as I was. As other reviews have mentioned, the owners sadly do not care about existing customers. Here is a list of reasons not to waste your money at this studio: 1.) It is impossible to book a class as there are waitlists to every class at least 2 weeks in advance. 2.) There are enrollment fees, late fees, no show fees, and "early cancellation" fees. If you sign up for a membership, you are locked in for at least 3 months or they will charge you a $100 cancellation fee. Also, if you don't let them know in writing and fill out a form 30 days before cancelling, they make you pay for the next month. 3.) There are no locker rooms and one tiny bathroom. 4.) Instructors do not pay attention to your form or reformer adjustments. They also act like they are annoyed you're even there and would rather be someplace else. 5.) The location is a glass box in the middle of the mall with creepy people watching you. Since I am currently on my second month, I am forced to continue another month (or face a $100 penalty charge), so I will continue refreshing the booking page to try to get into a class as I watch my money fade away into the hands of these money hungry con artists. I will also be reporting them to the better business bureau and posting this review to every platform I can get my hands on. Don't make the same mistake I did. You have been warned. read more

I just started doing reformer pilates last year in October and I was hooked! My favorite studio is Pilates of Eastlake however since I got a job in La Jolla I have been trying so hard to find a replacement. Upon doing my intro class with Jessica and meeting Marlena, I knew right away that this studio was for me. They were very welcoming and answered all of my pilates questions. My favorite thing about this studio is their commitment to teaching proper alignment cues in order to minimize injury!! I have gone to too many studios that give unsafe cues and I am happy that is place is not one of them! What also sold me is their variety of classes such as TRX and Barre inspired classes. I have taken class with Slyvia, Carmen, Larissa and Marlena and all of them are so great. I can't wait to hopefully take their teacher training in the future! read more

I honestly love everything about this place! I started taking pilates to improve my flexibility and strength as a runner since I am not a yoga fan. Everyone...from the front desk ladies to the instructors...are absolutely awesome! Everyone's super friendly and the studio is very well-kept. I used to be a 24-Hour Gym member, and it always smelled like ass. This place smells like the lavender spray stuff they use to clean the equipment. I also appreciate the size of the classes. They're small enough to where the instructors can keep an eye on you and make proper adjustments to your body to make sure your form is strong. The instructors also do a great job to mix up the workouts so they don't get boring. Most of the people that attend the classes are pretty awesome too! I've been going almost everyday, and it's totally worth it. They also have special promos and events every month. I seriously highly recommend this place!! I'm so glad Club Pilates came to La Jolla! I love this studio as it's not overly crowded and classes are easy to book through their app. Studio is well-kept and clean and the customer service here is unparalleled and very friendly. The manager and front desk gals are always accessible and welcoming. I attend classes almost every as I have the unlimited membership plan. I like that each instructor here brings their own style and energy to the class, so I get something different out of each class I attend. They are always doing promos, community events and charity stuff too, so they are really trying to give back to the community. Love this place! read more

Classes are good and it gives you a good sweat. However I have a huge problem when the staff kicks you out of a class you have paid for with three open reformers because you're two minutes past the 5 min cut off time at 6:00 am in the morning. This is an expensive membership and they have lost a paying customer because of this. read more

I absolutely love Club Pilates in La Jolla. They have the very best instructors, a clean and welcoming environment, and they offer plenty of classes throughout the day . Money well spent!! I joined Club Pilates La Jolla initially with the 8 class pack (2 classes per week) and seriously after the first two sessions knew I had to upgrade to the unlimited classes. My body was thanking me as I started to sit taller, have more mobility in my hips, and increased flexibility. The upgrade was seamless and now I sometimes take 2 classes a day. This is such a welcoming community here not only from the instructors but also from other members. The Club recently started a monthly book club and there's a few of us who walk and brunch after class :) In regards to the instructors, everyone is very knowledgeable and challenges your body differently. All are attentive in correcting form and giving modifications if needed. My only issue is given the plethora of classes offered (flow, strength, TRX, stretch, and cardio) and with so many dynamic instructors, it's hard to balance your schedule because you want to take them all (no joke)!!! read more
