A place I didn't even know existed before that might. I was out to eat with my wife at The Borough which is awesome btw) and we decided to grab a drink on the way back to the car. Let me say this place was extremely unique..we had to pay a small $5 cover to get in which was fine. It was super loud so it wasn't the best place to have a conversation but we hadn't been out in a while so we dealt with it. The DJ was unique, played a wide arrange of songs and his trademark was playing the trumpet while the song played. It was pretty cool to listen too. We were so excited to find a dive bar in the North Loop that had a free parking lot with open spaces at 7:30 PM on a Saturday night. However when we entered the place had a total of 3 other patrons at the bar, and 3 bartenders. It's cash only so had to spend $3.85 to take out cash. They were blaring hip hop (which I actually liked)so I was hopeful. But then the bartenders basically ignored us. Ordered drinks and they were grossly over priced. He mixed them strong but the prices were outrageous for an establishment like this. The vibe was just weird. Due to the high drink prices and unfriendly staff we won't be back. read more

Club Jager is a funky little dive bar with some first rate food. As an appetizer, I had the "bucket of bacon". It's six strips of heavenly hot dead pig and some maple syrup and mayonnaise. Continuing with the swine theme, I tried the pulled pork nachos. The ingredients were fresh, crunchy, and tasty. It was delightful and certainly worth $10. There is a small front patio that is cramped and cozy and a large back patio that is spacious. I think there might be just as much outside patio area as there is inside bar area. Inside, the bar runs the length of the building. There's always a place to sit at the bar. Though. there is a distinct lack of seating elsewhere, but there's ample room to stand. I have experienced some good service and some not so good service. Today, as our food was being served, the umbrella at our table on the patio blew right off and landed on the ground. The server dropped off our food, looked at the umbrella on the ground, and walked back to the kitchen. Yikes! I'd give Club Jager five stars for their great food and funky vibe, but the service seems to be hit or miss. read more

I realize the North Loop is not exactly on the map for those who don't live there. But check this place out sometime. It's been redone and is just plain pretty inside. I know the name is kooky and makes me think of Jagermeister which makes me gag a little, but they really have something going here. No TVs for one thing, which you'd think would be an infraction punished by fines or jail time the way the noise boxes are in every bar. Good drink specials too. Happy hour from 4-8 is hard to beat, plus they do 2-4-1s. The music is another good reason to come on down. Jake Rudh, formerly of the darling, dirty Hexagon, has moved his DJ sets - Transmission - down here on Wednesday night. Man knows what he's doing. Other good live music and DJs - check their MySpace. It's usually free as well. Good place for the last stop of a date that's going well or the first stop of a date you aren't sure about. read more

I love this bar each time I go. It has personality without being cliche, creativity without sacrificing good quality, and I have a good experience every time I go. I'm not sure how, at a bar with maybe 12 stool and 12 booths/tables I am always able to find a spot to settle in but that probably helps. I'm also not sure how they are able to churn out such awesome food but they do! I usually try the daily feature/special as it's a great value and my favorite so far is the tacos, just $5 for a double taco plate on Tuesdays. The one with grilled chicken, goat cheese and cabbage/cilantro mix is my pick. Add to the two substantial soft shell tacos a whole plate of hearty chips and homemade salsa and this is a meal to fill you up! This week I went on Wednesday so tried the $5 pulled pork sandwich and it was also good. It had a little onion slaw and banana peppers on it, which I thought was nice and also came with some shaved pickles (awesome!) and kettle chips. What a deal! Lastly, we couldn't resist ordering a basket of bacon because I really love peppered bacon. It comes in two options - crispy or chewy - and while we were disappointed our "crispy" basket was more on the chewy side, we loved the flavor and only wished we had gotten more than 6 strips for $8. Club Jager is fun... if you're really wasted. ...But so is clipping a hobo's toenails. Came here recently on a Saturday night, around midnight, ready to rage, aka flop around on a dance floor and look like an idiot. Seriously, I was hellbent on dancing away my winter blues. We paid the $5 cover, and then engaged in the weekly battle that is getting the bartender to notice you. We quenched our thirst (with beers and tequila shots, brah), and looked around, realizing where we were. Damn, this place is small and narrow (insert penis joke). It was also noted that 70% of the population was men. Not everyone seemed terribly douche-y though, so that was a plus. I liked some of the architectural details, like the ceiling. And the projector with weird ass music videos was a good touch. But we hit the dance floor and I was not a fan of the DJ that night. It was just all oontz oontz oontz all night. Just the same exact beat, no words, over and over. Just everyone oontz oontzing all oonzting night in the same oontzing way. Someone oontzing oontz me. read more

Hell, I LOVE the Hold Steady now, compared to PPBS. "We like to Jazzercise, do you remember Jazzercise? (background music "and one, and two and step and left and up and down") so come on everybody....lift those drinks." I might have made them funnier at the end, but seriously it was an accident. To escape the sound barrage, we hid on the patio, which unfortunately had speakers spaced perfectly so you cannot get away! It is here we waited for our server. None forthcoming. I went in to inquire and had a conversation that consisted of spoken words on my end, and gestures on his. Me: No table service tonight? Him: Shoots me with his index finger and thumb gun, accented with a wink. Me: Great. I will be back with our order. It's me coming for Club Jäger, Minneapolis' hottest 80s new wave bar. And I do mean 'coming' in the filthiest way possible. Yep, the kind where curly hairs get stuck in it, boo. So sit tight. This gon' be wild ride. Okay, that's actually a pretty gross mental image, but the point is, there may have been something in the air that night. An aromatic menagerie of booze, gerbil seepage, the mothman prophecies probably contributes a small part, Rick Moranis, #GrowHorse, skeet, skeet, skeet, yadda, yadda, yadda.... oh, you know. The usual combination when 9 co-workers gather in one city, stop being nice and start getting real. But what does all that mean, you say? Well, it's hard to get into in under 5000 characters but without getting into specifics, We had a work team meet up, we ate, we drank, we grew miniature horses in waste-bins that we thought were kidnapped by hospitality staff until safely returned over (surprise, surprise) more drinking. Okay, that might still sound a bit fuzzy to an outsider, but trust me on one thing, in a week chock full of absurdities and non-stop entertainment led by local celebrity extraordinaire in one of two of the greatest cities in the America that end in 'apolis', there copious landmark moments, but for me, the climax was at an 80s new wave club on Wednesday night. From the window, to the wall. To the sweat drop down my balls. We got down on some pretty decent craft beer while almost entirely ignoring the spectacular back patio that everyone else is talking so much about and heading straight out to the dance floor for some Soft Cell, New Order, When In Rome, Pet Shop Boys, Icicle Works... it was like a roll call of everything I've ever tried to request at regular bars and never get played. It was like a bar built just for me... and my supa fly honeys/coworkers who stayed to close the night out and walked the dinosaur as no group of coworkers have ever walked the dinosaur before. Gangnam style? Oh no, at Club Jäger we ride girlfriends style. Ain't that right Annie D, Rachel F and Annette J? MmmHmmm, Girlfriend. Club Jäger, let me count the reasons I love you: 1. Your DJ selections. More bars need to have soul and funk DJs. Any DJ who finishes the night with Thelma Houston is my hero. The guy playing the mashup of We Found Love and I Wanna Dance With Somebody, I love you too. 2. The patio in back! There's something about picnic tables that makes me want to crack open a can of beer and just chill. 3. That that's possible from 4-10PM during their all afternoon happy hour? That's one dangerously aggressive schedule, but I like the way you think. 4. The crowd. Where do these cool people come from? All sorts of people, looking to do a little bit of dancing. You need a sign above the door saying "THIS IS A DOUCHEBAG FREE ZONE," but I think that's just an unspoken rule among the clientele. 5. That you have no connection to Jagermeister. Thank god. The space can get kinda crowded, the drinks are kinda pricey, but you look past that. This is one of my favorite bars in Minneapolis because every time I go it's just that fun. I'd been here a number of times and really liked the place. They had a couple Prince nights with great DJs and the staff was fun. However, once I found out the owner supports the KKK, I stopped going. At that time, the good staff quit so there really was no reason to go back when there are now better places in the area. I heard they re-opened, but I can't in good conscience go back. Make no mistake, if you spend money here, you're basically funneling your money to the KKK. I love many things about this bar. 1. The decor. It's cozy, dim and stained glassed. Antiqued furniture. Tin ceilings. Wood paneling. Coat hooks on the walls near the dance floor. And kudos if you snag the table inside that cute little vestibule illuminated with red lighting. Makeout spot! 2. Fire pit. The bar sells s'mores kits for $4 if you want to roast some 'mallows. 3. Location. Normally, I'd not be keen on a bar where there's no exit strategy (i.e. another decent bar within walking distance), but it works here. Being an island is almost like charging a cover, because it weeds out the riff-raff who would overrun the place (ahem, Uptown). The only thing to worry about is getting a cab when they kick you out in the cold, so plan ahead. 4. The crowd. Fashionable, indie, hipster-y? Yes. But not sickeningly so. At least not when I've been there. It's more of a people-who-like-to-drink-and-dance-without-being-groped-in-da-club crowd. 5. The tunes. see: Transmission with Jake Rudh 6. The chalkboard had one Saturday special and it just said "TOTS." Not sure about the tater tots, but a lot of the food here is actually made from scratch. Fun fact. Will need to go back to try it for myself though. So what's not to love? Um, the prices, I guess. Jameson drink + two Stoli drinks = $22.50. Wha?! They also don't have too much of a beer selection. I've partied in Hollywood plenty enough times and love the diversity, but at the same club?!?! Usually we all end up congregating at the Denny's on Sunset after 2am (I digress) Most of the night, it was a sausage fest on the dance floor. No bueno. The music was a crazy arrangement from Pulp to Modest Mouse then to Hall & Oats to Rammstein They closed the night with Cult of Personality. My head is all jacked up. With a club called Transmission I expected more Brit/Synth pop. It must be all request night. Had fun (after 3 drinks) and sweated my ass off. ***The morning after follow-up... *** Read a couple reviews on the club, blogs and articles on the DJ. Apparently this is his thing. And it's pretty awesome how he mixes it all up. Not a lot of DJs will serve it out all crazy like that. Kudos. read more

Service is very important to me. When made to feel like the owner is doing you a favor by letting you hang out in his bar, I start to get punchy. Then, he flaunts serving himself drinks while you wait a half-hour for the hipster-chick bartenders to quit posing. Extremely obnoxious. Their patio and their parking are among the best in the city, worth 2 stars by themselves (and only themselves). The patio is a meandering brick deck with nice tables and comfy chairs and benches. I have even found the crowd here to be quite tolerable, good for sharing in the misery of pulling your hair out while waiting endless days for a cocktail. If you are stressed by bad service and even worse owners, don't go. If you like to smoke and chill outside with your friends and are open to the logic of ordering two drinks at once, you will probably have a good time. read more

Came here for a Friday happy hour with some friends and left a very happy - and very buzzed - customer. First of all, Happy Hour goes till 7. Extended Happy Hours are some of life's most underrated joys. Seriously. We arrived around 4:45 and grabbed the last outdoor table. The patio is small and fills up fast but the atmosphere is exactly what this winter-worn Minnesotan needed. $3.50 mixed drinks were just strong enough to get that Friday buzz going. Service was fast, even as the bodies at the bar got thicker as the night wore on. We moved inside to a booth around 10 and ordered a plate of Nachos, which were honestly some of the best Nachos I've had. The cheese and chicken were spread throughout (even underneath to those usually naked chips at the bottom of the pile) and the fresh cilantro, red onion and salsa balanced the plate perfectly. A great Northloop spot for those looking for less post-sorority/frat crowds and a more relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere! read more

Not even remotely a fan of this place. If I could give negative stars, I would. We've been here a few times, each more horrible than the last. The first time we went, the happy hour bartender was drunk behind the bar, rifling thru some schwag left by a beer company instead of serving us, and when he decided to acknowledge us he held up a shirt and asked us "does this make me look like a f**got?" Class. The next time we went was later in the evening, service at the bar was nonexistent, and when we asked the barback who was washing dishes if he could get a bartender so we could buy some pint glasses he just rolled his eyes and looked back down at the sink. What is this place? Have I simultaneously stepped back in time while also stepping sideways into disco-club land?! Ok, I can't really speak about the disco-club land because I haven't been here late at night on the weekends when things get crazy. But I have been in for their post-work happy hour and it was divine. First off, the bar space itself is small and lovely. This bar has been here since 1906 and its really kept its character. Down to the pink toilets and gorgeous pink ceiling and chandelier in the ladies' room. Anyway, their happy hour is SICK. $3 pours of beer and they have some gooood ones. I think also wine and rail drink deals too. We also got a couple tacos, which for bar food were pretty solid. I spent $13 on 2 tacos and 2 tap beers that normally run $7 a piece! Service was a little slow because there was just one bartender and a lot of North Loop yuppies in, but for the deal I got, I'll be back! read more

Unexpectedly Awesome. A group of friends was out in the North Loop this past weekend. Burrough/Parlour was packed, the Loop is meh, and another dive bar had a country band playing. To Club Jager we go! First impressions: -Friendly, down to earth and non-judgemental bouncer. Cool. -Divey vibe -Cool DJ/Music -Nice Lighting -Long Bar -Cool back rooms to lounge in -Awesome patio The crowd here is so eclectic. It's hard to even segment by stereotypes. And this makes Club Jager refreshingly awesome. It's hard to pass judgement when everyone just mixes together and has a good time. There is some great people watching, from all walks of life. The DJ was rocking, with a wide variety of jams. From techno to some Biggie beats to a bunch of other stuff. Because the tunes covered so much breadth, sometimes you get off the dance floor, but the variety is part of what makes this place awesome. Bartenders were great, prompt and the drinks were reasonably priced. Based on other reviews, the food is legit. Will have to check that out next time. Overall, an unexpectedly awesome spot in the North Loop. Completely different than anything else around and most definitely worth a visit. We'll be back! read more

I love sitting outside on spacious patios and soaking up the summer air while sipping on champagne. And that is one of the things I loved most about this bar. I hear it does quite a bit of live music during the nights and so I feel sad that I was here in the late afternoon. Luckily the $4 sparkling wines cheered me right up. This is a SICK clubhouse. This is where I want to hang out while avoiding parents and curfew with other cool renegade kids, some of whom may be smoking cigarettes, drinking, or talking music/politics/revolution. Last night was the first time I have been here. It was Wednesday, so it wasn't bumpin (yet), and while we wanted to stay for Transmission (dance party!) today's 6am start time made that impossible. Nevertheless, every aspect of our experience here rocked. First, it was the birthday of one of the best ladies around, and I went up to the bar to order her a birthday drink. I told the bartender what she usually likes (whiskey, vodka) and he told me he was going to craft "the perfect drink that doesn't have a name yet". Holy balls, did he ever. The entire table ordered them the rest of the night, and while I'm not sure what was in it, it was described to me as a "citrus gingersnap". For six bucks. Yes please. I am also not a Yelper who pulls her hair out over bathrooms, but the women's bathroom at this place is special. Like, stopped me in my tracks, and I had the instant impression that whoever designed it (male, female) loves women. The bar is gorgeous and antique and something to see all by itself, with little nooks for groups or couples. Low-lit and full of dark wood, it provides the perfect arena to watch the very diverse and very hip crowd mingling. Whatup, new hangout! Hollaaa! read more

I remember going to this place when it was almost unknown. People would call it the best kept secret in Minneapolis. The music was amazing, the bartenders were amazing, the door staff was always friendly and welcoming. It really was like a clubhouse to go to. Every once in a while you'd see the owner show up, and you got the feeling that it was almost exactly the way he wanted it to be. The DJs were all skilled, and were most of the best in the cities. They knew how to fuel the crowd. Even if the music wasn't your favorite genre they still would be pumping out great music. Everything was relaxed, and the place had the energy of ease. Rarely would you see the bartenders have to yell at anyone, and through about 7 years I could count on one hand the amount of fights I had even heard going on in the place. But, times change. Time has not been kind to this place. At least not the passage of 2017 for this club. The bartenders act like they don't have time to answer questions, and can't seem to deal well with some of the crowds in the place(which are honestly about half the size they used to be). They seem tired, and like they don't want to be there. Having fun with your job always translates well to customers, but I haven't felt that in less and less frequent visits. The security folks went from being a laid back bunch that handled the problems with words and a smile to thugs that I've seen shove people out the door without giving a reason why. They also seem to pay no mind to state of intoxication of those they let walk past them(seen more than a few people stumble up to the bar, sway while ordering a drink, then either a) Head to the bathroom to throw up; b) Stumble into other patrons, spilling their drinks; or c) Take a few steps then almost hit their head on a table as they fall to the ground). They impression they sent out has gone from "I'm here if you need me" to "We're here to make you behave". A very authoritarian vibe that doesn't go well with the current state of our country. There used to be a few gleaming gems in the landscape, but they seem to have been forced out or had their spirits crushed. I actually heard a staff member say, "Yeah, (bar manager) just seems to hate anyone that is more likeable than she is." That type of thing is just bad for morale, and that leads straight to the experience the customers feel. Beyond all that are the DJs. Most of whom it seems like it's their first job in a club, and who should probably have just stuck with doing weddings. They don't know how to work a crowd, and don't know how to mix. They go for gimmicks like a black light party or calling it a Prince dance night because they can't attract a crowd with their skill.The hold outs from the old days can still pull it off, and do it well. They are fewer and fewer as the year goes on though. Unfortunately, with the blandness of the DJs came a crowd that likes bland music. If you want to cater to the douchebag crowd, I guess that's a business model, but don't complain about them being douchebags or frat boys. That's the crowd this place seems to be aiming for these days, and they have even infected some of the longer lasting nights as well. All in all, it is a beautiful building, and there is a great patio. For nightlife, stick clear of this place if you want a good experience(however if you want to get absolutely plastered drunk, the staff here seem more than willing to accommodate you, just please don't tell them where you were drinking when you make it to the hospital). read more

Thank you to all you Yelpers who introduced me to my new favorite bar in the MinneApple! The party of 5 I was with last night had such a great time that we never made it to our next destination, 414 Soundbar. Another time. Double Trouble spun the beats, and by midnight this place suddenly broke out into a dance club. The interior is beautiful...the building is originally from 1906 and they have done a remarkable job refurbishing it. I learned that the gorgeous tin roof at one time had been covered up by a drop ceiling and the current owners didn't know it was even there till they refurbished the place. The outdoor patio and fire pit is a great place to hang out, now that it's FINALLY Spring. I'm definitely coming back for Transmission on Wednesday, so thanks, Shay T. for the rec.! Other nights they have good specials like 241's on Monday and 2.50 Pabst on Tuesday. I can't believe it took me so long to check out this place. Better late than never... read more

Brooklyn hipster warehouse vibes coming in hot from the North Loop, Minneapolis. WHAT? This place is too fun. Club Jäger sports funky-fresh, skeet-street-beep-beep jams and provides an outlet for groovy hipsters looking to scratch their dancing itch (or are patrons itchy because their scratchy 90s sweaters and well-trimmed beards?). Oh dear, was this a disappointing experience. This place has so much potential and after seeing some fabulous reviews I was pretty jazzed to grab a drink and dinner prior to a friday girls night at acme. And, fail. Two friends had been sitting inside upon our arrival and mentioned that for the past 20 minutes apparently the wait-straff steered away from their table like the plague. We went to the bar asking if they serve food (obviously since I've already stalked the menu). we had to order our drinks and food at the bar if we wanted to eat inside, pay, and then theyd bring it to you. the whole situation was slow and awkward. More awkward was when our food came out 30 minutes later... in 5-10 minute increments. mine obviously last. when i went to the bar to see where it was since we were late for our show, the manager and two servers ignored me for a good 10 minutes - blatently pretending that i was not the only one standing at the bar, no food, no drink. Needless to say as I got nachos boxed up because we were going to miss our show (an hour and a half later), they were actually pretty good. Whoa, I just got back from Club Jaeger. This place is sweet. Seriously. It's clean, pristine, perfectly refurbished. The Jaeger beer from Wisconsin is awesome. I hadn't tried it ever before and they had it on tap. I went here with some coworkers for happy hour and we had a sweet time in the sun chilling in the back off the patio. 5/8/2008 Seriously. Before my May 8th experience, I gave the jaeger 4 stars. Well, after my experience with the Psychedelic Pioneers Broadcasting Show on May 8th, this place is nonsensical super fun crazy weird!!! I love the jaeger for opening its doors to the Psychedelic Pioneers and their Policy Wheel (i won peanuts and mac&cheese) but to the Psychedelic Pioneers, i love you and want more. ***** read more

This place is "unique" in many ways....and none of them bad. The music is an eclectic mix, whereas some other venues (Loop, Pourhouse, etc.) will just play Top 40's over and over, Jager lives in the deep cuts and the songs you're vaguely familiar with. The result is something amazing, where you don't know what you'll get. To go along with that amazing music, during late night this is first and foremost a dancing bar. There is very limited seating (especially in the winter), so ladies, be sure to wear appropriate footwear if you plan on coming here. Since the bar is so old (Since 1907), there's amazing amounts of character in it. From the ceiling to the stained glass, it hearkens back to a time where your grandparents would probably have loved coming to back in the day to go out on the town. Much like the way Minnesota is able to retain it's charm from lack of people wanting to flock to it and ruin the state....Jager is able to do the same, being at the end of Washington with not much around, people think twice about coming here and it's able to retain that charm which make it as "unique" as it is. read more

Cant believe i've never written a review of this place. Found it right away when i transplanted to the cities 2.5 years ago. Why? because they were the only place i could find with steel tip dart boards :) chalk and everything. The indoor and outdoor fire places/ pits make it feel like your always welcome. The music has ranged from great to awful but at least they mix it up. I was surprised to learn they now serve food! Nice little surprise. They always have a great selection of beers on tap, personal favorite is the Pilsner. On some nights the owner sits outside at the fire pit and he's a really nice guy to chat with. P.S. the ladies bathroom ceiling is the best thing EVER!!! read more

Full Disclosure: I love Attitude City. These guys were voted best house D.J.s in the City Pages a couple years back for their crazy mix of current tunes and crate-diving retro beats, and they throw a ridiculously fun annual yacht party (this year in conjunction with the Aquatennial). That said: Yes, my favorite local D.J.s have a standing gig here on the last Saturday of each month. But it is still one of my favorite places to forget about completely and then stop by on my way home. I live on the North Side, and I will often find myself driving home up Washington. Even though this is not necessarily my "neighborhood bar," I often end up here at the end of some random weeknight. About a week ago I stopped in and ran into three people I hadn't seen in months - just in time to invite them to my birthday party. To me, it doesn't matter if a place is near your home - if you consistently find yourself and your friends in one place, a place where you always feel welcome and taken care of, it becomes your neighborhood bar. Now, the specs. Clubhouse Jager is one of (if not the) oldest continuously operating bars in Minneapolis. It is in a lovely intimate space on North Washington Ave, with few (noticeable) alterations to the original structure. In the summer they have a lovely patio out back that is fully encircled by privacy fence (to block out the Geek Squad building up the street), and when you're out there you can still hear the music from inside. I know people have complained about the staff in the past, but while the service has never been the most stellar, I've never had it be truly bad. Oh, and did I mention the last Saturday of each month? Sorry. Seriously, even without Attitude City, this place would be somewhere I often find myself and meet people with whom I would find it difficult to keep in touch otherwise, and for providing me a comfortable place in which to do this, I thank them with four stars. read more

Dance, dance, revolution. Srsly friends. I heard they have food, and aren't always a dance-tastic destination, but my time there was spent doing one thing and one thing only: cutting a serious rug. It may have smelled like BO, but the Peeb-r was cheap, and it felt as though - for an hour or so - I was 23 once again. Dancing around to Souxsie, Joy Division, New Order, Pulp... so so so much fun, and so reminiscent of time spent at a similar-ish spot in MKE I almost grew up hanging at. (I wish the guy that DJs this part-ay would come help Mad Planet in MKE to help re-establish their Friday night roots of what was a true 80s night. 80s night was WAY BETTER than that retro dance party -ish they have going now. What the eff, Rammstein?) I digress. Club Jay-ger = wicked fun, dino dancing to sweet sweet 80s jamz (every song a hit!), and a great time. Would definitely hit up Transmission at Club Jager again next I'm in the 612! read more

I feel bad giving this place a 3 star, if possible I would give it a 3.5. went here before a twins game as we were told they had good beer on tap and free parking. Well the Parking was free but the beer selection was pretty meek. The one saving grace was that they did have Bell's Two Hearted on Tap, and the Two Hearted and I get along great. The inside is pretty small and has a lot of different themes going on, not sure how to describe it. There was a patio that looked decent but not on a hot muggy day, especially out by the dumpster. The service, well was a little lacking, mainly cause there was only one bartender and most people decided to sit at the bar. It took me 15 minutes to cash out as the bartender disappeared for awhile and the other people there are apparently incapable of running a card. regardless I did have a good time and it was a nice, mostly clean interesting little place to duck into for a cold one. read more

What a wonderful place in the middle of wherever! I definitely will need to come back when the weather is warm, although we did stick it out in the patio with nothing more than a paper-fed fire pit the first time I visited. We ended up at this place as a knee-jerk reaction to the warm March weather we've been having. I mean, it's in the higher 60's for goodness' sake! Luckily, we came on a Tuesday night, which is 2-for-1 night. I love the Club Jager chip they give you for your 2nd beer; I almost wanted to waive my 2nd beer just so I can keep the chip. It's definitely got Deutschland written all over it. Because our main goal was to be outdoors, we headed out to the then-empty patio, which is a really pretty space with lots of string lights, wooden benches around a fire pit, and multiple tables and chairs. Unfortunately, they didn't have their fire pit prepared because, well, no one thought it would be 65 on a March night. But, we found some (wet) wood in the back, and combined that with a pack of matches and an issue of Vita.Mn to create a passable fire. We also had some of their crab dip and bean dip. The crab dip was addictive; we were literally scraping the bowl with the remaining crostini on the plate. The bean dip was pretty decent, but then paled in comparison to the former. The crowd was an interesting mix, but skewing towards the younger, the nerds, and the hipsters that night. Probably because it was some sort of trivia night as well. Lastly, as most reviewers have mentioned, the building's interiors are incredibly beautiful. Even in the dim-lit bar, you could see the fine details on the walls, and the random stuffed animal above the liquor. The ladies' restroom is probably one of the nicest ones I've been in; there's gorgeous carving on the ceilings, gorgeous marble-like tiles, a mini angel on the stall frame. It's rare (i.e. never) for me to comment on how pretty a bar's restroom is, so you know this place got something special. I definitely want to come back here when the music is blasting and the folks are busting out. read more

The atmosphere is great! outdoor space is cozy and the inside has a college union hall feel.... old chairs, fireplace, stained glass and knickknacks on shelves. I recommend this place for drinks, and music. I haven't had the food, but have seen and smelled it and it looks really good. The Lady's bathroom is a fun pink....that made me giggle. Fun ambiance! This place gets five stars just for having a self serve fire pit in the nice patio area AS WELL as selling smore kits! Just dont go here after a twins game gets out because it gets a little more bro'd out than usual. You know exactly what i'm talking about. Also i think they may sell alcohol. I wouldn't know as the milk of the hill people (as i call it) has never passed thine lips. read more
