Super light and fun bike to perform the courses on. - DMV riding test waived at CA DMV with successful completion of the 1DPC course. - Great balance between classroom learning and physical riding practice. I was never bored or falling asleep in the classroom or on the course. - Enthusiastic and warm instruction. I never "felt stupid" when I screwed up a drill. Jeanne was my coach (when we broke out in groups). She combined professionalism with respect and critique to convey a well balanced message for improvement. I took the 1DPC (1 Day Premier Course) in California, Dec, 2021. This is a great course with a DMV-riding-test-bypass-opportunity. You do need to pass a couple intermediate "on site riding skills tests" before the class begins to attend the 1DPC and you'll still have to pass the DMV written test (before or after this) to get your M1. If you arrive early to the 1DPC, they allow time to practice the "riding skills tests" ahead of time. I personally hate the DMV and was super enthusiastic for this chance. You take your 1DPC paperwork (once you pass) to the DMV, pass the DMV written exam, and they hand you your M1. I had it completed in the same week. My coaches for the day were Jeanne and Jim. At first arrival, the class came off as rigid/structured; not inviting. But, the coaches quickly warm up once class time starts. I realized at some point that the initial rigidness was simply due to their scramble to organize late-comers and the ill-prepared so that class can get started in timely fashion for everyone else. I strongly believe both coaches genuinely spent time developing each rider and tailoring their advice to the rider's experience throughout the class. The coach to student ratio is efficient. I never waited too long (bored) or felt neglected. The class itself was a mix of classroom and riding. They did well to break apart the time (segment in classroom followed by physical riding). I never got bored or restless. They have BMW 310 motorcycles to use for the riding. These are great, light bikes to use for the course. This class is a solid value considering what you get out of it. read more

As a complete and utter novice who knew absolutely NOTHING about motorcycles, I greatly appreciated the opportunity to take a course to learn from experienced instructors as safely as possible. This course DELIVERED. Carl, our zoom instructor, was very knowledgeable, offered lots of advice, and answered my "beginner" questions very helpfully and without judgement. On the range, I found both Kevin and Katie to be very patient instructors who clearly cared about promoting safe practices. For me, Katie was particularly helpful and encouraging. I loved being pulled to the side for more individualized feedback/advice on my performance, especially when I was clearly anxious and struggling with some of the more advanced skills at speeds greater than 10 mph. Although I passed both the written exam and the riding exam, I definitely do NOT feel ready for the road and plan on taking more courses to feel safer and more confident on a motorcycle. I reached out to Amanda, who I met briefly in person during the written exam, and she has been extraordinarily helpful in advising how to move forward. I will probably look to take the intermediate course next and might even supplement with some private lessons. In any case, the beginner course is a SOLID introduction to the world of motorcycling, and I am so grateful to have had the great experience that I had. read more

I cannot recommend this training program enough. I have never ridden a motorcycle before, and by the end of the two days of courses, not only did I pass the course but I have much more confidence in riding. I had the pleasure of learning from 3 instructors, Ashley, Jennifer and Brian -- all of them are very knowledgeable, have great advice and knew when to be serious and when to get your spirits up with a good laugh. They were tough and fair, but talked you through absolutely everything. If you don't understand something that's all on you because you have so much time to ask questions before and after ever exercise. One thing I want to stress to anyone taking a new course, you may pick up on it faster then your fellow students. While it's frustrating to have to consistently slow down, or stop because someone else is still struggling -- take it from This perspective, I learned the most about being attentive and handling the bike more because of that. Before I knew it I was shifting up and down in a heartbeat, braking safer and kept my eyes up because you never know if someone might stall out or something. Really great course, I absolutely want to take the intermediate courses next. Love that they have newer bikes in different styles to choose from, and the pace is very steady. Just took the two days beginner course. It was a long two days during this heat way we are having nearly reaching 100 degrees regardless our instructors were out here giving us the best service possible! Jennifer was just a blessing to have out on the riding portion of the course, i have no idea how she kept such a high and positive energy about her when all i wanted to do was sleep. Carl took care of the classroom instruction part of the course and he did such a great job making the material relatable and fun. Brian was also an instructor we had on the first day during the riding portion of the course and with all the knowledge he gave us i feel like i learned how to be a more well rounded rider! Last but not least Hailey wait.. i mean Ally, ​she was a instructor on the second day of the riding portion of the course and having her out on the field was awesome. She was very calm cool and collected, she took her time to explain everything and made the exercises and test that much more understandable! This course was the best, there's so much details I don't even know where to start, they gave us directions very easy to understand, demonstrated exercises and repeated them until we got the hang of them, I was in the june 1-2 afternoon group, my instructors Carl and Jennifer were fun, understanding, patient and overall very very skilled in their job, everything was very professional but at the same time enjoyable and fun, it didn't even feel like a course in the sense of boring or anything, I would take it 10 more times again. Loved the service at LBBMW and loved all the promotions available for us, gear discounts, insurance discounts, etc. I will definitely recommend some friends and will be back for the intermediate course after I sharpen my fresh set of skills, I hadn't had that much fun in a while, everyone of us passed and left with way more confidence than when we came not to mention you don't have to worry about the riding test at the dmv, which is a pretty sweet detail, thanks to Jennifer and Carl for being the best course instructors I could've had! read more

Toni and Aaron were my instructors for the beginner course. over the two days I rode under their instruction, they helped me identify and correct a lot of mistakes I was making while riding. Thanks to them, i feel a lot more confident and ready to ride out on the rode. I def think CMT needs to get them megaphones because it can be a little hard to hear them in such an open space with over 10 other bikes running with airplanes and sometimes helicopters overhead. Regardless, they were very clear with their instructions and i was able to understand what they were telling me. They did mention the class is accelerated and they properly communicated if at any point we feel we cannot continue due to whatever reason, they would help us find a course more suited to our level of skill. Luckily for me,not only were Toni and Aaron amazing teachers, but they really cared for our safety. Thank you Toni and Aaron and thank you CMT for the opportunity to learn from you. I just finished my two day course training with my father and we were both impressed by the professionalism of the course and the instructors both (Brain and Erin). I would most definitely recommend this course to any beginner or any rider looking to define their skills as a rider. Instructors were really nice and knowledgeable about everything that they taught, they also explained every exercise very diligently and precise that my younger brother who's 12 would have understood how to properly operate a motorcycle. My course had a total of 9 people everyone was so friendly and nice to each other. Never did I feel judged by other riders or instructors for mistakes and they were very helpful on helping me fix my mistake (usually by the second to third time I'd have it down). Overall 10/10 experience I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested about motorcycles. I recently completed the Clutch Motorcycle CSMP (Course) and it was an absolutely phenomenal experience, especially for someone who is a new rider looking to build confidence and learn the right habits from day one. The course atmosphere was incredibly fun, but the real highlight was the instruction. Jacob and Liz are truly great teachers. They are patient, exceptionally clear with their directions, and create a low-pressure environment perfect for learning complex skills like managing the clutch friction zone and advanced braking techniques. They broke down the fundamentals into manageable steps, ensuring everyone understood why we were doing a drill, not just how. Specifically, the training focused extensively on crucial fundamentals that every new rider needs: mastering slow-speed maneuvers, proper turning and counter-steering, and emergency stops. I was a little intimidated by the idea of riding a motorcycle for the first time... As a 30 year old man with lots of machismo and pomp I was honestly a little timid when it came to getting on the bike. The staff here at clutch motorcycle training definitely helped assail my fears. From the zoom classes which were informative and helpful, to Beth and JJ who were knowledgeable and patient in teaching all of us how to ride safely,to Amanda who handled all the email correspondence back and forth making sure that I had the correct links dates times and was prompt in responding to every one of my questions. Walking out of here today with my certificate of completion. If you live out in SoCal and in search of a location for beginner motorcycle training, then this spot is honestly everything you need. Yes, it may not be the perfect place to accommodate for everyone but what makes this place genuinely great is the people that are willing to instruct you on how to properly identify, maneuver around, and simply ride your first motorcycle. The courses are straight forward, but may take some time to getting used to if you're just starting out. JJ, Ashley and Kevin are all wonderful instructors that will make you feel as if it's nearly impossible for you NOT to pass and understand the course. So let me begin, I've never ridden a street motorcycle before, I signed up for this class because it is a beginners course. Knowing absolutely nothing about how to operate a motorcycle the women at this course walk you through each step. At the end of the course I was able to ride a motorcycle and know what to do in certain situations. These machines are deadly so it's best to know everything you can about them before you jump on the road. The first day you learn the basics of riding, the second day you refine those skills and at the end they give you the DMV test. This is what those 10 hours of riding get you ready for. They helped me be more confident on the road and how to safely get through traffic. I had such an amazing time at Clutch Motorcycle Training! The classes are extremely individualistic, where the instructors give you immediate feedback after giving you a task and you basically do it until you get it right. The course states that it's not a beginners course, but rather intermediate, but with instructors like Jim and Genie, you could be mentally challenged and still excel! Seriously, they're amazing! It was also really cool to just meet a bunch of people that love to ride, or are passionate about learning how to ride. My only recommendation would be to take the class when it's not too hot, because I literally died from the heat. They might hose you down after if you ask nicely! I recently took the Basic Course and I highly recommend Clutch Motorcycle Training for everyone who is considering getting their M1 license...Their staff is amazing! Amanda, is very friendly, caring and accommodating. She's also extremely responsive to emails/calls. I recently took a lesson with Jennifer and another trainer (sorry, I forgot his name!) and it was an incredible experience! Both instructors were top-notch - patient, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. They took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I understood before moving on. I traveled 2 hours from the valley for this lesson, and it was totally worth it! I had zero experience when I arrived, but I left feeling confident and equipped with new skills. The fact that they offer bike and helmet is a huge bonus (just remember to bring your own gloves and boots, or borrow theirs if needed).
