I had a packed-to-the-rafters garage. In 8 hours, 2 Clutter Girls pulled everything out onto the driveway and gently helped me made the difficult keep-donate-trash decisions. Where to begin! I contacted Audrey a few months ago after I had hired another local organizing company to help me with my guest room. I would give 6 stars if it was an option. We recently moved out of our home of 22 years and we had a lot of "stuff". Short story long - moved from 1400SF house (lived in since 1992) to 850 SF ADU in backyard. A normal person (like me) would think "hey I got three months to move my stuff to backyard house and I can do that" but trust me I had no clue. After 4 months of trying to "move" (and failing) while doing my real day time job (VP Operations over 200 employees) I was not in a good space. Also dealing with city inspections, new renter, my nutso dogs, I needed help. Although I will not give my Mother credit for anything (childhood stuff) she had recently hired a "Professional Organizer" to organize her kitchen... Frankly I was sick about hearing how moving drinking glasses up a shelf could change her life but I needed help. You can't be objective with your own stuff. I won't list the examples... My closet cleaning process was to have my sister Amanda pick an item and say "when's the last time you wore this" and i would lie but the price tag would be attached. Again short story long. Audrey and her team are extremely hardworking, courteous, professional and very experienced. I feel like they strike a good balance between being friendly, assessing your needs, coming up with a plan, and jumping right into work. I've worked with her and members of her team twice now. The first time I worked with Audrey, it was to organize and move the contents of my mother's house and to stage it to rent out. This involved deciding what would be donated, what could get thrown out, what my mother could use in her new place, what items I would take to my place, and finally making the house look good for prospective renters. We moved into our home 4 years ago and never quite got everything completely organized. Audrey helped me clean out my daughter's room, which was being taken over by stuffed animals (see the girls' room and stuffed animal zoo photos). Between having a herniated disc in my back, going through an ugly divorce, and trying to manage my house independently, her room had gotten out of control and I didn't even know where to start. My Name is John and I am a hoarder. I am one of those people who if you ask "hey would you like one of these"? My answer is yes before I even know what one of these actually is. So my garage was filled with the sum total of all my yes's. Anvils, Broken Lawn Mowers, Golf clubs, Art work, Tee shirts and clothes that I accepted with the thoughts "hey I can use that someday or sell it". Righttttt. I was referred to Clutter Girl(Audrey) from a friend who had hired her to declutter and organize their house. They were fully aware of my clutter (hoarder) issues from hearing my wife whine about all the "junk" in our garage. Audrey came over and was somehow able to put my fears at ease. I was terrified she'd be militant or "a bad cop" but I felt comfortable with her within minutes and although I was initially a little embarrassed over the state of my garage she put me at ease as she was sympathetic and understanding while firm and convincing and before I knew it, two days later, we'd donated 8 boxes of "treasures" hurricane-ravaged families in two states which made me feel really good -- knowing that I was helping someone else while also helping myself (and my marriage!) was great. Audrey is also extremely resourceful, she listed a few items on one re-sale site and a few others on another and made me some cash from my clutter. She also found a local high school to donate my several full sets golf clubs and 5 gallon buckets of golf balls to. Knowing they were going to see the links again made parting with them a joy not loss. She also sanded/painted a nightstand that I'd left to die -- she did such a great job that my wife even let it in the house! Now our garage is neat and tidy -- with a designated place for each "type" of thing. I'm not swearing off "free" stuff from people or promising that I'll always keep the place as orderly as it is now, but it feels really nice to start with a "clean slate" and I honestly do feel much better -- lighter even as if I had a 200 pound anvil (which I honestly never used and wont miss) lifted off my chest.
