I must say I rely on Yelp for reviews and this one started on a bad note for me. When the phone was answered, it was not answered in a professional manner nor was the name of the business identified upon answering. If a business is going to use a cell phone to advertise, at least answer the phone with the name of the business. Additionally, whoever answered the phone had a rather snobbish tone. Again, this is disappointing when they rate 4 - 5 stars from customers. Whenever I move, I dread packing fragile and bulky items. Something always breaks, leaving splintered glass and sticky residue all over my valuables. Yes, I could spend the time to gingerly wrap every object in bubble wrap, but I usually end up stuffing my boxes with crumpled newspaper and old clothes before calling it quits. Enter Speedy Packing. While their services are not cheap, Antoinette will take the time to correctly wrap, label and protect your things. Have a cabinet filled with crystal stemware? Done. I cannot say enough about how fantastic Antoinette, Shay and Francais are, how invaluable they've been, how much of my sanity they've saved... Choosing to hire Antoinette's team was the single best decision I made with this move. Look, moving sucks. It's one of the worst experiences any of us has to go through. What Antoinette and her team do is take the majority of the stuff that might make you want to blow your brains out and they take care of it the way you probably would... in like a year from now when you'd finally get around to it. They packed everything in my 2 bedroom house in one day, and then I called them once the movers started unloading boxes into the new house. Unfortunately my moving company started late, we have way more crap than I suppose the movers had realized (yeah, I'm working on that) and so Antoinette and her team started much later in the day than we had all assumed. But this did not stop them. They were at my new place until 4:00 in the morning(!!!!) making sure all my toiletries were organized, that every single room and every single closet was organized in the best and most thoughtful way possible. These ladies are worth their weight in gold and yet they're priced very very reasonably so they're affordable during a very expensive time. When I moved myself from San Francisco to LA and didn't hire any professionals, I wound up with a few annoying boxes I didn't know what to do with that only got unpacked almost 2 years after the move. This time, after hiring Antoinette's team, I woke up yesterday morning and THERE ARE NO BOXES AT ALL left in my house. It's mind blowing. Finally, the 3 of them are wonderfully sweet and funny. It has now been approximately 1 month since my move from Los Angeles to OC and I'm finally getting a chance to write this review. I was preparing for a major move... Wait- I'm lying.. I didn't prepare anything! That's how I ended up frantically looking for professional packers because I had waited until 3 days before my big move to start packing (don't judge- I, at the time had an eleven month old baby and if you have your own- you know what I mean!) When it got down to 2 days before- I faced the music and made a call to Antoinette. I couldn't believe that she agreed to do the job- on a Saturday- on the day she was supposed to be hosting a baby shower! Normally, I would have postponed upon hearing something like that but I was desperate! She showed up on time at 7am with Shay. Since I only had them for a few hours I went over the areas that needed to be tackled (kitchen, bathroom and some odds and ends areas) and they went straight to work. Carefully packing up all my belongings- even labeling the rooms and contents (I'm never that organized.) They obviously have a flow between the team (one wraps, the other packs and labels) I wish I had planned ahead and had them for an entire day. That is how long it would have taken for my 1 bedroom apartment (I'm borderline hoarder.) If it wasn't for Antoinette and Shay, I would have missed my deadline to be out of my apartment on time. I'm currently staring at 8 unpacked boxes and realizing I should've hired them to help me unpack too! I'm jealous of the reviewer who said she did exactly that and woke up to NO BOXES! This is a GREAT service if you are short on time, have children or just can't be bothered! They come in, they're focused and get the job done. I don't think I'll go back to doing it "alone" again. The packing service I usually use was unavailable, so off to Yelp I went to find another option. I really liked Antoinette and her girls. They showed up on time, and true to the service name, they speedily packed up my overstuffed two bedroom for a cross country move. I felt good about things during the process, and was comfortable enough to leave them to finish their work while I ran out to pick up my Penske truck. Occasionally the box/crate labels didn't actually match the contents. The most entertaining one was a box of rugs labeled FRAGILE. Perhaps next time I would ask that they not seal up the crates before I had a chance to double check them... which is a good idea for most people anyway because it makes your life easier when you're unpacking on your own. On a positive note, they employed some packing ideas that were fantastic. For example, I really liked the bubble wrap envelope they made for the contents of my junk & silverware drawers. It just had to be unsealed and placed in their new homes. Ingenious. I would absolutely use them for a local move, especially one happening at the last minute or on a tight schedule. Honestly, 99.8% of my items traveled 3000 miles intact, that's a better record than the majority of moving horror stories I've heard. Overall, I was grateful for the help and enjoyed their company. I think they absolutely deserve to be 5 star, especially considering the care they've taken to make sure my issue is resolved for future customers. Recommended. read more

Antoinette and Francai came to my home on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, to help me pack and organize. They neglected to tell me that they did not know what they were doing. They over-packed and over-wrapped several paintings, using 6 times the packing materials necessary, then they took other crystal vases, and stacked them inside each other, without any protection at all, placing them in a brown grocery bag. After they left my home, charging me over $525.00, I found a number of pieces hidden in a hall closet, that they had intended to take for themselves, without my consent. In my book, that is called stealing.  They did not know what they were doing, and told me beforehand that they learned that if they called themselves "professional organizers," they could charge more than a housekeeper gets. Upon leaving my home, they sped to the nearest bank to cash my check, knowing that it was a matter of time before I would stop payment on the check. They have no intention of returning the funds without a court order. I am headed to the courthouse today. Beware. Please save yourself a great deal of heartache and frustration. Do not, under any circumstances, hire these two women to help you pack. Instead, go to the National Association of Professional Organizers, and hire a genuine, professional organizer, who knows what he or she is doing. Good luck. read more

I used this service in November 2013. The owner Antoinette and her 2 staff members were professional, courteous and friendly. I had a 2 bdr 1 bath and the three of them were able to pack everything in 8 1/2 hours (just 1/2 hour over the initial estimate and flat rate, which I was happy to pay for). Everything was packed securely and neatly and not one broken item upon arrival. They even securely wrapped my framed pictures with bubble wrap upon my request (I provided the bubble wrap). I also like that it is a family business- one of the "packers" is Antoinette's niece and she seems to love what she does and is proud to be part of the business- so refreshing! One caveat: I was under the impression that I would not be charged extra for the packing materials Speedy Packers provided, but I was. It was later clarified that they only waive charges for materials if they are hired to unpack as well as pack, which I did not do. Also, the boxes were clearly marked with which room the items were from, but no details (i.e., a box would be marked "KITCHEN" but not "KITCHEN: Pots and Pans") - this is my fault, I am sure they would have marked them that way if I had requested, but I didn't realize this small issue until i was unpacking! Just something to keep in mind. All in all, I was very satisfied with Speedy Packers - they are efficient, hard workers and very reasonably priced. This place won't even return your calls if you buy their Groupon. That's a problem with a lot of business who offer groupons. They done want to honor them. Speedy Packing flaked on me the week before my move. Moving is very stressful and people shouldn't add to that buy talking called and the blowing potential clients off. The very unfriendly woman there told me would need to know how many hours, I guaranteed then 6 then they said they'd have to calculated gas charges and call me back. I never heard from them. I called a professional organizer that I got from a friends recommendation, she was fabulous. Same price. $75 and hour. Group refunded my money. I am inky posting this to help other people because moving is one of the most stressful experiences you can endure and the last thing you need a to think you've got it covered because you bought a Groupon for packing services, when in fact you did pay for it....but got no service. I would only hire someone from a friends referral, never from Groupon. Most reviews are phony and I'm sure Speedy wrote all their own and that's the only reason that have five stars. read more

Am I allowed to give more than 5 stars? Please? Because these ladies deserve a million! I was about two weeks out from a move and I was starting to get panic attacks about packing...I don't even like packing for vacation, let alone a whole 1200 square foot apartment. Every time I would start packing up boxes, I would get overwhelmed. I wanted desperately for someone else to tackle the daunting task for me, but I figured there was absolutely no way I could afford it. I happened to come across Speedy Packing on Groupon, and decided it wouldn't hurt to call to ask for rates/look up Yelp reviews. I was astounded by how relatively inexpensive the services were (for the non-Groupon rate, mind you)...and this is before I found out they do unpacking, too. So, I hired Antoinette and her team. They arrived promptly to pack my apartment, armed with boxes. They took exactly 7 hours to pack my entire place, and everything was so perfectly organized. That night, I realized some medication had accidentally been packed up, but the boxes were labeled so well, that I only had to open two (of about 60) boxes to find the meds. Amazing! I seriously couldn't believe what a great job they did. Then, the day after I moved into my new place, they showed up bright and early to unpack me. The unpacking took about 6 hours, and blew my mind. Do you have any idea how amazing it is to wake up one day after the whirlwind that is moving to NO BOXES? Not only that, but everything was organized so well! They really have an eye for putting things where they make sense (especially in the kitchen!). So, in total, I moved from a 2 bedroom place to a 3 bedroom place, and was packed up AND unpacked for about $1200 (I called other packing/unpacking companies and the next "cheapest" quote I could find was $3000). Honestly, this is the absolute best money I have ever spent in my entire life. I cannot say enough good things. I was almost in tears when they finished because I was so grateful for their help.
