I figured it may have been a one time issue so decided to come here again because the food is good. This time I decided to place an online order so it would be ready when I arrived. Set pick up for 241 pm, got here at 252 pm and they didn't fire the order until I got here. So where do I begin! Went in today for the very first time I had been wanting to try this place for a very long time. My in-laws speak highly of it so I figured I was in the area and I wanted to try it out. I got to the window and I told them to give me a second because it was my first time so I was looking over the menu. I went ahead and I placed two chicken sandwich combos and that was going to be it but then I was kind of intrigued by the chicken strips so I ordered a two piece of that. So when he told me my total is 41 and some change. As soon as he said that I looked up and I saw that they had a family pack for $32. Where you got two chicken sandwiches two crinkle fries two macaronis and two tenders. There was no other car ahead of me so I proceeded forward and the guy at the window to the minute before he open the window so I gently tapped and when he opened I could tell he said that he was taking someone else's order. So it took them a few minutes to get back to me and when he did I explain to him that I wanted to switch it to the family pack because why would I want to spend $41 when I can spend 32 and get to extra sides. So the cashier close the window I don't know what happened at that point but he came back and said I already made the food. And I said that's fine I still want the food I just want to be charged for the pack. He said we can't do that so Manager said he can't. I said OK if that's the case can I please speak to your manager. And I saw the cashier look over and you could pretty much tell the cashier with a no that you did not want to come to the window eventually he showed up and not even a Hello already looking irritated and I explained to him that I wanted to do the family pack. Again he came out with saying that the food was already made and once again I had to explain I'm not saying I don't want to visit I'm saying that I just don't want to pay $11 extra for no reason. He said it wasn't able to be done because I guess the family pack is only one sauce level and I had chosen two different sauce is and I said OK so you think that makes it OK to charge me $11 more? He didn't seem to want to help whatsoever. I mean give me a break this is my first time at the restaurant I don't know anything about it and I said it at the window. So don't you think that you should've maybe suggested that to me? Anyways unfortunately I will never go back. I ended up telling him that I didn't want it and he said that it was already made and I said well I'm sorry too bad and I drove off. I was craving a spicy chicken sandwich when Clyde's pop up on my search. Decided to give it a try, they are located by the train track on Central before arrow route in replaced of Fat Burger. I got the Original Chicken combo, original heat, price was $9 something. Took a while to get my food even though I was the only car there in the drive thru. The fries need a little more salt. The sandwich was good, right amount of heat and the coleslaw gave it the extra flavor which makes it great, the brioche buns were soft and fluffy and the chicken was crunchy and juicy. read more

The Good: Chicken sandwich is great. The sauce (med heat) is really well done. The bun is great and the slaw too. Waffle fries were almost as good as Chick Fill-A. The Bad: As others have said, the chicken is a bit over cooked...like the ends were so crispy that they were hard and inedible. The C-19 rules like you have to ask for napkins, ketchup, utensils, and wear a mask in the drive-thru is a bit off putting in May 2021. They gave me zero napkins and if I didn't have extra in the car, I would have been pretty upset with red hot sauce all over. Our first time trying Clyde's and we were not disappointed. Raul took our order and helped us decide what to get, explained all the spice levels thoroughly and was so nice. The chicken is so juicy and the breading is crispy and perfectly seasoned. The coleslaw was ok and the seasoning overwhelmed the taste of the chicken. It was missing the crunchiness that I love. Not bad to add the drink and waffle fries for $2.50 although my fries were over salted. I'm sure people have their different preference on chicken sandwiches . I'm just an opinion. Hot chicken!! This is really hot chicken. The wings were large the chicken juicy tender. The spice on the original was sufficient to get a sweat going. The hot as cluck was not bad but a bit too spicy for me to enjoy, very good flavor but whew!! The gold peak tea fountain was not set up correctly, with such spicy chicken the drinks have to be fully functional. The help was accommodating and explained the menu well. The sandwich is far and away the best chicken sandwich available. Next time in town I will make it back!!! read more

Having lived in Los Angeles for the past 4 years I'm quite familiar with Nashville hot chicken and have eaten at many of the top-rated restaurants. That said, I wasn't expecting much from Clyde's.
