Service is always trash here at this daves, I delivered for another one and the cashier makes conversation and even offered me a drink. Here they always look like they hate me and today the lady overfilled customer shake and doesn't even wipe off the side which is standard practice then it inevitably spills out the top onto my car floor. My son loves Dave's Hot Chicken, so for Valentine's Day I took him to this location for lunch. The restaurant itself was clean. Just a heads up, this location does not have a drive thru like the Ontario location. As always, the food was great and consistent, which we definitely appreciate. However, the service unfortunately did not match the quality of the food. Customer service is very important to me, and this experience fell short. When we walked in, a young employee (highlighted hair) saw us but didn't greet us or acknowledge that she would be with us shortly. She continued packing DoorDash orders and walked past the counter multiple times without saying a word, while we stood there waiting. A simple "I'll be right with you" would have gone a long way. Not wanting to ruin my son's Valentine's lunch, I brushed it off and had him order at the kiosk instead. We ended up taking our food to go because the lack of friendliness made the atmosphere uncomfortable and it wasn't just toward us, but toward other customers as well. It's disappointing because the food is always good, but due to this experience, I don't plan on returning to this particular location. The Dave's Hot Chicken in Claremont opened quite recently. I went for their grand opening and was greeted with the best service I've ever had at a fast food restaurant. Staff was all smiles, laughing, and enjoying their time. There was such a great feeling of hospitality and welcoming that it made me want to sit in and eat. Food is what you expect from Dave's. Delicious sliders with some of the best fries in the biz. Sauce is always on point and you can't forget my stack of pickles. Would recommend this spot. Stopped here for lunch today, I had no idea they had just opened one in Claremont. The food was pretty good. Nothing extraordinary but not bad either and the slushee was ice cold and refreshing. The interior is very modern with some cool artwork. They have some kiosks and a counter for ordering. Leilani had such good energy and delivered excellent service. From ordering to receiving the food took about 10 minutes, which was fast, but unfortunately the food was already cold. I ordered two "1 slider + 1 tender" combos. Today was my first and last time trying Dave's Hot Chicken. We ordered a #3 (foreshadowed number for later guys) which was a tender and a slider with fries. I was severely disappointed by this entire experience. The inside was fairly new and we received our food pretty quickly; no complaints there really. But when it came down to the actual food... let me tell you you're better off flushing $20 down the toilet than spending it here. First thing I noticed about the meal was 3 hairs. Yup you read that correctly: THREE HAIRS. Most of them were located in the fries and one was in the basket it came in. Disgusting. That alone turned me off from the rest of the meal pretty much immediately, but I decided to try the meal regardless bc I did just spend money on it (unfortunately). When I finally got my first bite in after traversing through what felt like an obstacle course of hair, I realized the food I received was mid. Like completely mid. Boring. I have never in my life described a meal as boring but I had to this time. The hype around this place has to be forced man. The flavor profile was so bland. We ordered one tender hot and one medium. The entire heat experience felt like being stuck on a seesaw. Neither tender stayed consistent. It was like my meal was having an identity crisis I couldn't tell what was going on. Fries were okay; I mean other than the hair jungle it got entrapped in but yeah. "Dave's Sauce" was bitter and did nothing for the meal other than add more calories. The pickles they gave us were weak and wobbly. No crisp, no crunch, not fresh. Felt like they grabbed a fistful out of those jars you find at the grocery store with yellow food dye in them. The honey was also bad somehow I'm not even sure how Dave managed to mess that up too tbh but he did. It seemed as though they're going for the gold in the single use plastic waste Olympics here. 1 drop of honey per packet so they have to give you 5 of them just to make an impact. And lastly, the drink. It was fine but paying extra for a drink was not worth it at all. 1/5 stars but I'd rate it less if I could. Again I'm almost positive the hype for this place is forced because that was so bad I had to chew gum on the way home to get the taste out of my mouth. Never going back to this or any other location again. Do better Dave. read more
