I researched catering options and ended up choosing Apres Vous because they are a well-regarded local restaurant and because of the cooperative and helpful attitude of Stan, the owner. Stan gave me great advice when it came to menu selections to ensure that the items would work for everyone present. And he was flexible when I requested changes and wished to upgrade the dinnerware even though it would add more work for him. On the day of the event, Stan and his crew arrived early and were totally organized when it came to set-up and the presentation of the food. The food was delicious and enjoyed by all. The servers did a great job and the crew returned exactly at the designated time to do a very efficient and thorough cleanup. I could not be happier with my experience with Apres Vous. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food and the level of service that they provide. In addition, they are genuinely nice people to deal with. I wholeheartedly recommend Apres Vous for both their restaurant and their catering service.

Haneeth is a traditional Yemeni dish consisting of slow-roasted, spice-marinated lamb or chicken served over fragrant basmati rice. The meat is often seasoned with a blend of spices like cumin, cardamom, and turmeric, and slow-cooked in a sealed pot or an underground oven (tannour) to keep it moist. This tender, fall-off-the-bone meat, which is cooked for several hours, is a festive dish reserved for special occasions and feasts. The lamb was definitely tender but was kinda bland and lacked flavor. Same with the basmati rice -- it almost tasted a little old. Service was fine. I waited about 15 minutes for my takeout. There is a tiny counter along the side if you want to eat in. I also got a spanakopita (spinach) and tiropita (feta), each for $3. With so many Mediterranean places around, this market just doesn't stand up to the competition.

They have an excellent cheese selection, olives and anything else that is a healthy snack. Great imported sweet things, fresh pita bread and baguettes. They make fresh deli sandwiches that are huge. This is a family owned place, managed with love and joy by a wonderful couple from Lebanon (which is why their prepared Mediterranean foods are so great). Although I no longer live in Glen Park, I still drive across town from the Bayview, just for their foods. I am a "forever fan" and I'm just thrilled that they survived through the pandemic (unlike Destination Bakery, which closed very abruptly in December 2025, after 25 years in business, just up the street on Chenery).
