I love coming here. My favorite thing to purchase are the butter cookies. You can purchase the regular ones or the sugar free ones. The peach cobbler and red velvet cake are delicious too. I bought a the german chocolate cupcakes and the pecan pie this morning --- it was heavenly and divine!!! The texture of the cupcake was superb and the topping was amazing. Pecan pie was above par!!! I can undeniably say that this bakery is my #1 in San Francisco. Her menu is versatile from her popular butter cookies all the way to her crab and sausage consisted gumbo soup. Once you try her food once, I can promise you will want to come back for more. My personal favorites from Yvonne's menu include her gumbo, butter cookies, beignets and pies. During holidays you can place your own order, but I attend her pop-up events where she features her gumbo and beignets since at the moment they're only made during her pop-up events. I was lucky enough to attend a pop up event today at City Hall where Yvonne's Southern Sweets was selling some of their items. I purchased a praline and a butter cookie, both reasonably priced at $2 a piece. I've never tried pralines as I always thought they would be too sweet. Well, this praline was sweet but so delicious with that nutty flavor. I ate it over the course of the evening and it was delicious! The butter cookie! What can I say? To compare it to shortbread would be a disservice but that's the closest thing it reminds me of. It was out of this world. I love sweet potatoes so I had to try Yvonne's sweet potato pie! It was too cute not to buy! (hey, that rhymed!) I took it back to my dorm and warmed it up in the microwave before eating it. I was enticed into this little shop when I moved into the neighborhood and was searching Yelp for the best spots. I must say, "Yay! I'm a fan." Yvonne couldn't be nicer and she is really proud of her baked goods. The treats are all wonderful (I particularly like the butter cookies) and you can even order cakes and such in advance. She remembered me when I came into the shop for a second time (and I had come in probably about 1 month earlier - great memory!).
