Our beautiful Candy Bar was a big hit at our wedding!
    Shareen F.

We used SF Candy Bar for our wedding in San Francisco and it was everything and more that I ever dreamt it would be! Yvette was fantastic and so easy to work with. The candy bar was a hit and all of our guests are still talking about how much they loved it. Not only did it look great and matched our wedding colors, but all of the candy was fresh and delicious. I loved that at the end of the night they packed up our leftover candy and gave it to us to take home. I loved all of the extra touches. They made a sign for our candy bar that matched our wedding invitations and the bags and ribbons that she used were perfect. I had a chance to meet Yvette in person after the wedding was over and she was just as sweet in person as she was on the phone. She provided excellent service from my first email to her, she was always easy to reach if I needed her, and she was a pleasure to work with. I would use the SF Candy Bar again and would recommend her without a doubt! Yvette, thank you for everything!

The only familiar place I once headed many times was Cow Palace. That place once hold The Great Dickens Christmas Fair yearly just as it also holds 626 Market. This was a good opportunity to try good places in Visitation Valley where I value at least one small local business. And The Good Chocolate was the perfect target. Judging by what's inside the entrance, I could've sworn that this chocolatier was closed. But if I were to open and get a good peek, a modest female worker was kind enough to let me in. Quite a tiny space to buy chocolate bars, at least I can fit right in to purchase one of them. Ranging from bite size to the regular chocolate bars, the highest percentage one can get is 65% Cacao. Despite the decent amount of flavonoids, one certain ingredient in each bars called "Erythritol" is sustainable enough to make up to a consumer such as myself. Not my favorite chocolatier, it was such a pleasant experience. I'm sure I'll be waiting for one magical cacao café to find its retail space throughout my hometown. If anyone likes chocolate bars that's 65% or lower, The Good Chocolate is right up your alley.

I just tried a little sample square because I was unsure if I was going to like it. Actually, it was pretty good. You can definitely tell it's not your standard chocolate bar, but it's still tasty. The almond square had a nice texture with little pieces throughout, but I'd still say it could use a bit more almond flavor. But not bad, and cool packaging as well.

Of their menu of 10 entrees, they only had lamb -- no beef, no chicken. So I got the lamb haneeth $19.99 and I had a choice of hummus or babaghanoush. Haneeth is a traditional Yemeni dish consisting of slow-roasted, spice-marinated lamb or chicken served over fragrant basmati rice. The meat is often seasoned with a blend of spices like cumin, cardamom, and turmeric, and slow-cooked in a sealed pot or an underground oven (tannour) to keep it moist. This tender, fall-off-the-bone meat, which is cooked for several hours, is a festive dish reserved for special occasions and feasts. The lamb was definitely tender but was kinda bland and lacked flavor. Same with the basmati rice -- it almost tasted a little old. Service was fine. I waited about 15 minutes for my takeout. There is a tiny counter along the side if you want to eat in. I also got a spanakopita (spinach) and tiropita (feta), each for $3. With so many Mediterranean places around, this market just doesn't stand up to the competition.

There is a place which sells chocolate from Switzerland and the Philippines and if you are sour because it's Monday or just everyday of the week in SF you should visit a place called Giddy. On Spring stroll in my old school stomping grounds I walked on Noe street and landed on Market at Giddy. Inside it's a candy store with lots of variety of gummies and licorice along with some international chocolate from the Ecuador and the Philippines. What you will also find a lot of varieties of candies which are very sour like some in SF. You will find lots of sour fizzy chewy cherries along sour mango belts. You will also find the classic sour cherry balls and berry sour foamy and sour strawberry and lemon butterflies along with a favorite from Sweden known as Bubs which is a sour strawberry and lemons skull gummy. Giddy is a good place to get sweet or sour. Sour is how you "felt" on a Monday when the chocolate in your pocket on a hot day "melt" and the best way in the past how it was "dealt" is go grab for a sour "gummy cherry belt" On Market street there lots of places for foods I have "eaten"some want on a cheat day a place for some "cheatin" at a place with chocolate from Ecuador , Philippines and Switzerland which is a bit "sweeten" and some like it sour like the strawberry and lemon skulls called Bubs which are from "Sweden"
