    Chicken cutlet
    Michele T.

Drove by several times, but didn't realize they have ready to made hot foods. We were in the area walking by and the scent of the food emanating from here is what caught my attention. We checked it out - quite a few hot items to choose from including desserts/sweets. The mushroom frittata was light but flavorful (about $5). The chicken cutlet ($14) was crispy and also flavorful - just wished there was a little more sauce. The price of both items were determined by weight. The person who helped us was friendly.

My favorite Acme bread! And a $3 pack of chocolate chip cookies (3)!!!

Walked into Apre Vous just to check it out, after purchasing sandwiches elsewhere. I was thrilled to find my favorite Acme Pan Epi bread and some chocolate chip cookies to bring home! Yummy!!!

We took away that chicken in the middle...

My daughter and I stopped by Apres Vous to take out some warm foods, which did not disappoint our palates. We ordered a juicy rotisserie chicken, stuffed portobello mushroom, salmon cakes, a pulled pork sandwich, signature chili and a drink. We enjoyed everything except for the chili, which tasted kinda sweet. They have a few tables to sit here now in this clean well-lit space. Service is warm and friendly. I was told they do catering as well.

Just across the street and up the block from Guerra Quality Meats (review: https://yelp.to/Fgco3N9gQy), this new corner market was a nice find I just happened upon while strolling on Taraval. Looking quite Parisian and feeling very spacious, it was a most inviting spot with quite a long display case of delicious-looking hot food. Perusal of the various platters was a pleasure. There was a refrigerated section and a separate room with a freezer and canned seafood. I wasn't planning to pick up dinner, but I caved into temptation. I bought a couple of meaty Italian Spare Ribs with cooked vegetables for $19.94 (photo: https://yelp.to/8qVKj1y7ia) as well as a hearty serving of Sautéed Seasonal Vegetables for just $4.49 (photo: https://yelp.to/8fMoDxURQh). I even got a disassembled $6.99 Iceberg Wedge Salad with ranch dressing and bacon bits (photo: https://yelp.to/KgRodlq8bY). I brought home quite a feast, and it was all nicely prepared and kept well. I don't live in the neighborhood, but it's definitely worthy of another visit should I need a convenient dinner to bring home and heat up. After all, I'm no Jacques Pepin. Always polite folks. Lovely food. I was there a little late and got lamb shank with potato soufflé for my husband. He was very pleased. I highly recommend their food.

The service here is amazing because the workers are congenial, smart, and appropriately attentive. The ambiance is chic and stylish, with tasteful colors and select products. I love their premade soups and desserts. A full great and healthy meal for many could be whipped up here in 5 minutes. Can't wait to come back!

Sea Bass with heirloom tomatoes, sauté with Olive Oil. Hearty and flavorful.

I found this gem near work and I go sometimes twice a week. Parking is easy. So if want an easy dinner option where you can pop in and pop out with flavorful menu choices then Apre Vous is for you. The Chili is great and well priced. $7.50 for a pint. The lasagna is hearty and good. There is usually an assortment of sausages. My favorite is the Italian sausage The assorted home made cookies are excellent as well. Chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin and white chocolate macadamia. There are other entrees and side options but these are my favorites. Common now!!!! LETS EAT!!!

Of their menu of 10 entrees, they only had lamb -- no beef, no chicken. So I got the lamb haneeth $19.99 and I had a choice of hummus or babaghanoush. Haneeth is a traditional Yemeni dish consisting of slow-roasted, spice-marinated lamb or chicken served over fragrant basmati rice. The meat is often seasoned with a blend of spices like cumin, cardamom, and turmeric, and slow-cooked in a sealed pot or an underground oven (tannour) to keep it moist. This tender, fall-off-the-bone meat, which is cooked for several hours, is a festive dish reserved for special occasions and feasts. The lamb was definitely tender but was kinda bland and lacked flavor. Same with the basmati rice -- it almost tasted a little old. Service was fine. I waited about 15 minutes for my takeout. There is a tiny counter along the side if you want to eat in. I also got a spanakopita (spinach) and tiropita (feta), each for $3. With so many Mediterranean places around, this market just doesn't stand up to the competition.

I honestly don't even recall the first time we started coming here--we've been in the neighborhood since 2000, so it's been a long time. This place is just part of our routine, and the pizza has never let us down. If you're the kind of person who believes a good pizza doesn't need bells and whistles, this is your spot. Their plain cheese pizza is excellent because it gets the fundamentals right. The crust is consistently spot-on: crisp on the outside, chewy inside, and sturdy enough to support all that cheese without getting soggy. It comes out piping hot every single time, with that fresh-from-the-oven aroma that lets you know you're in for something good. The cheese is generous--especially when you order it with extra--and it melts beautifully into that stretchy, gooey layer that makes a classic cheese pizza so satisfying. Nothing tastes frozen or stale here. The sauce is another highlight: flavorful and balanced, not overly salty or sweet, and it doesn't overpower the cheese. Everything works together in a way that feels simple, comforting, and just plain delicious. What I really appreciate is the value. In a city where pizza prices can get out of control, Red Sea is very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. You end up with a large, filling pizza that actually satisfies, without feeling like you overpaid. Delivery has always been reliable for us. Orders arrive hot and on time, and the staff on the phone are consistently friendly and helpful. That kind of service matters. We've had their plain cheese pizza countless times, and it's always exactly what we're hoping for. Red Sea has earned our loyalty over the years, and as far as we're concerned, it's one of the best neighborhood pizza spots in the city.

To be quite honest the pesto gnocchi I ordered was actually horrible. Usually they brown the gnocchi in some butter and it has the best yummy taste but this fell so flat. No brown butter and no kind of browning on the gnocchi at all. It had 0 taste! I had to chew it and wash it down with water or my wine! So diner beware. Other than that the pizza was great the wine was great and the price was right! I would come back but I would have to try something different if

It certainly helps that their 15+ years in business has probably already earned them "neighborhood institution" status, but so does their popularity! On just about any given night, you can easily find a decently sized crowd here! Compared to the likes of Elena's, George's Donuts, and Khao Tiew, the look and feel of Trattoria da Vittorio isn't nearly as trendy or modern (if anything, it's starting to feel a little dated). At the same time, though, it actually adds to their appeal, as everything about this place feels so friendly and approachable. Similarly, the menu feels a bit basic, but in a good way - their wide array of appetizers, pizzas, and entrees may not have a bunch of bells and whistles, but it's quite varied and doesn't lack for enticing options. Plus, it's family friendly as well, as they even offer pizzas shaped like Mickey Mouse for kids. -- HOMEMADE PAPPARDELLE PASTA WITH OXTAIL RAGU This isn't listed on the menu anymore, which is a shame since it used to be my friend's go-to dish (sadly, no photo). Each time I had this, the pasta was always well cooked with just the right thickness while there was never any shortage of oxtail meat. -- ANTIPASTO DELLA CASA - Charcuterie Board with Prosciutto, Mortadella, Hot Coppa, and Salame Kind of hard to mess up a charcuterie board, but, regardless, this was great! The overall portion size was relatively generous and all four of the meats were delicious, especially the hot coppa. Nice that they also included a side of baked pizza dough, as well. -- FRIED CALAMARI & ARTICHOKES with Tartar Sauce and Marinara Sauce Nothing fancy, but no less tasty. Although the batter definitely felt somewhat dry and unseasoned, I liked how crispy it was. Plus, the calamari and artichokes were flavorful and the dish, as a whole, wasn't super oily. -- ORECCHIETTE with Spicy Sausages, Broccoli Rabe, and 'Nduja Not quite what I expected, as the sauce had a bit of a kick to it, but this was still pretty solid. There was a fair amount of sausage/'nduja and broccoli rabe in this, but, while the pasta was cooked to a nice al dente, I wish this had more orecchiette in this and less sauce. -- GRILLED POLENTA with Gorgonzola Mushroom Cream Sauce This left me feeling a bit conflicted. On the plus side, the polenta was great - each piece was crispy on the outside and hot and soft on the inside. However, the Gorgonzola Cream sauce was kind of rich and got to be a bit much after a couple of bites. -- POLPETTE - Homemade Meatballs Served with Toasted Bread Nothing spectacular, but pretty darn solid. The meatballs had a nice beefiness to them, but they didn't feel overly heavy or dense. Plus, I like how the tomato sauce wasn't too sweet either. -- UOVO PIZZA with Eggs, Pancetta, Wild Mushrooms, and Mozzarella Cheese Aside from the uneven distribution of toppings, this was terrific. The eggs and cheese added a bit of richness and I really liked how well the mushrooms and pancetta complemented each other. Just a drizzle of truffle oil would've rounded this out perfectly. -- DOLCE PIZZA with Spicy Sausage, Mozzarella Cheese, Honey, Pepperoncino Calabrese This reminded me of the spicy pepperoni pizzas I've had in the past, but possibly better. Aside from how it felt a little "wet" from the honey and peppers, they also added a nice sweet and spicy element to the sausage. -- SPAGHETTI CARBONARA - Pancetta, Eggs, Cheese, Black Pepper Ehh...this was just okay. While I certainly liked how they didn't skimp on the pancetta, all of the rendered fat made this feel incredibly heavy, even for a carbonara. What's more, I wish the egg had been poached instead of fried/sunny-side-up. -- ZUPPA - Homemade Soup of the Day (Lentil Soup) Our mistake for skimming the description and assuming this was the same "zuppa" as Olive Garden's soup (which is so good). While the portion size was great, the taste of this was just okay - lentil soup is just okay to me and this one was also really salty. Much like the food, the service here isn't amazing, but they more than get the job done. Each time I've been here the workers have been friendly and welcoming and are relatively efficient. There have been times where they seem to linger around the kitchen/bar area when the restaurant is quiet, but they still do a decent job of keeping an eye on customers. All in all, while Trattoria da Vittorio certainly isn't one of the best Italian joints in SF, it's still one of the better ones on this side of SF and one of the most convenient. Between the relatively short waits for a table, if any at all, and how there is always nearby street parking available, this place is always a solid choice for meet-ups with friends, family dinners, date nights, or just a quick solo meal out!
