New favorite nail salon! I called that afternoon to see if they had any availability that day and they scheduled me for an hour later. They were ready for me when I came in. So many other places will take you and not have any nail techs available. The place was so cute, clean, and felt fancy. I loved the corner location and big windows so I could people watch Polk St. I get regular polish and my nails were finished and dry in 1 hour. Neighboring places will take an hour and a half and I really don't have that much time. They didn't rush and took their time, just no interruptions/ down time. They're also named after their adorable husky Co Be who laid at the door during my appointment. read more

This place has gone downhill for $100 mani pedi no samples to pick from other than looking at bottles, the technician used a drill to remove polish and burned my nail bed, and then the other technician cut an angle in my big toe making it look so bad like a hack job versus pretty square or rounded normally I prob wouldn't care but I am leaving for a week long pool side vacation and now have a hack job for a pedicure we all have off days today was not a good one for these ladies I don't think I will be back with all the other options to pick from in the neighborhood disappointing experience all around read more

I got a pedi and mani and the tools were not sterilized the reason why I'm assuming that is because they didn't have them in a bag for clean tools and also they did not have a plastic to cover the pedicure bowl. Also the woman we're talking in their language the whole time. And no music what so ever also they only take Venmo and they had no WiFi. I'm kinda bummed because it's on the nice side of Polk street and the out side is inviting but I wouldn't come here again. I always go to Co Bé for my mani pedi. Mary and her team are fantastic. They are so nice, careful, and meticulous. Mary's skills are unmatched! My nails always look so natural because of the time and care she takes to shape them. And she can replicate or create any design or color I've ever asked for, if I stray from my typical red. I hate to leave such a negative review, but Mary gave me the worst set of acrylics I've ever seen!Half of the nails broke off within a week. It was so bad I wouldn't even go back for a repair. Not sure about the other services, but definitely do not go here for acrylics. I ended up going to Hey Beautiful (also on Polk) to get them redone. Henry did an outstanding job fixing my nails. Save yourself the money and do not go to Co Be for acrylics. read more

It sucks to leave a bad review for a small business, but my experience here was horrible. They were extremely rough and seemed distracted. When removing existing gel I had on, the metal drill was on high which made my nails thin and brittle (I came in with healthy short nails). There was no cleanup after the removal so tips were put on while my hands were dusty. The worst part was the filing - even after being rough and accidentally cutting me with a file a few times, the shape was still mismatched and I left with a messy uneven set. Didn't ask her to fix it because I didn't want to be close to her and a nail file again. Overall the amount of roughness and lack of attention to detail is not worth the $70 I paid (they only take cash/Venmo which wasn't expressed to me when I called). read more

PLEASE BE UP FRONT ABOUT SERVICES THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY PROVIDE! I wanted to get my acrylics off and get a new set on. I called ahead to make sure that they knew how to do it, to which they said they did. Once I was sat down, the nail tech tried to begin the removal process but was confused on how to do it, asking 2-3 other technicians for advice. They spoke in vietnamese to each other but I understood everything they were saying since it's my native language. Nail techs kept rotating over to me, each of them attempting to use different methods to taking my acrylics off.... it was so clearly obvious that they did not know how to do the service. I was super upset because I was sitting in the chair for 45 minutes waiting for them to just REMOVE the acrylics and it was so clear they didn't know what they were doing. I was trying to be nice and patient and just see what they were trying to do, but I am very experienced in getting this service done, and their methods were everything BUT normal for handling acrylics. After an hour total, I was still in the chair and only 4/10 of the acrylics were removed-- and not well--- I finally decided to get up and leave, to which they commented that they knew how to do the service but the past hour proved that they did not. If they had just been up front since the beginning and said that they couldn't perform the service, I would have saved my time and they would have saved theirs as well. read more

IM.PRES.SIVE. I can see why this place is so popular! With social distancing rules they still seem to get customers in and out on time without a long wait. Everyone was also wearing masks including customers. I also noticed they don't reuse their disposable tools like other nail salons around the area do. Big plus!! One star for that! My second star goes to the beautiful, calming, clean interior. This place has a very open and modern feel with comfy chairs. It's not like those usual dingy out-of-date salons. I'm usually a very tense person and just sitting in here made me feel at ease. Third star goes to application. My lady was so quick with applying my polish I was surprised it came out so perfect. Clean lines, no bumps, and opaque. Exactly what I want for what I'm paying for. My cuticles were also treated gently unlike other nail salons that nips at them crazily when I don't even have any cuticles left. Oh and the massage UGH was AMAZING!!! I wish it lasted forever . Ok fourth star! There is no sh!t talking!! I'm so sick of workers at other nail salons continuously talk to each other while working on customers in another language. I came to relax, not to hear nonsense. These ladies at Co Be were focused on getting my nails done perfectly and getting me out on time. San Francisco meter fees aren't getting any cheaper so I ain't trying to pay my meter some more ya? My last star goes to the shop owner Mary. Why? Wonderful clean nail salon. My pedicure was done with care and expertise. I truly appreciated my experience here. It's been awhile since I had such an excellent pedicure - my entire foot was cared for not just the nails - and the price is in line with what I have paid for service half as good. My fav spot for nails in the city. Great pedicures that actually make a difference, not just a cut and paint.

The people here are kind -- but I have issues with a place that doesn't take credit cards and requires payment by Venmo ("payment between friends") or cash so that they don't have to report all of their income. Most of the people patronizing this establishment have their income fully taxed by California so unclear why they think they shouldn't. My manicure was just okay -- bubbles in the gel topcoat and they rushed me out at the end (it was barely dry and they demanded payment). Not my favorite neighborhood nail joint (there are a lot to choose from) but it will do in a pinch. read more

Mary does a phenomenal job with gel polish on dip or acrylic. I like that she does what is best for my natural nail length, makes a beautiful almond shape, and perfects whatever design I want to try. She is friendly and accommodating and the salon is very cute with a view of polk street.
