If there's one line in Newport that's worth waiting in, it's this one. There's nothing I love more than a place that takes a few things and does them extremely well instead of trying to overextend themselves like some restaurants. Coming into this place you know that you are going to have the best cinnamon roll of your life and they do not disappoint. These things are massive! Highly recommend getting the extra frosting too because it's soooo worth it. The dough is so pillowy and the cinnamon sugar combo wrapped inside is delicious. 10/10 no notes. Had to also try the donut and it was very tasty too! I don't think you can go wrong with anything they make there as long as you at least leave with one cinnamon roll. It seems like it's also wheelchair accessible but the way the line is structured you would have to have someone waiting in line for you in order to get in so thats something to think about. My husband stopped by an hour before they closed and I assumed they would all be sold out but he was lucky enough to snag 2 that were pre packaged and ready to go. Newport is about a 45 minute ride for us, so we waited for a warm and sunny day to take a trip down to walk around and shop and eat our way around town. Co-Dough is located inside the Market on Broadway, a place that sells bottled drinks, convenience store staples, and refrigerated prepared foods. While the sourdough cinnamon buns were the star of the show, we also picked up a few of their brioche donuts, brioche rolls, and sourdough loaf. They also offer made to order breakfast and lunch sandwiches, which sounded delicious. Added bonus: there's a small parking lot on site, that holds about 8 cars, which makes popping into the market very easy. read more

My friend and I got there around 11:30 after doing the Newport cliff walk. We found street parking, but were a bit confused on where it was. We walked up and down the block at least 3 times before seeing a small paper sign in the window of the market advertising co-dough. We went inside, and my heart sank when I saw the trays behind the counter were empty. The person behind the counter must've known what I was there for because she told us the next batch would be available at noon. We decided to walk around and at around 11:57 when we were circling back, we saw a line of people out the door. We sprinted to get a place in line. The entire time, I was anxious they'd run out right when we got to the front as I consider myself a very unlucky person. However, we secured two cinnamon buns at around 12:20. The line does curl around the inside, but it's entertaining to look at the snacks they sell and inhale the sweet cinnamon smell. When they're serving, they make sure to add some of the extra sauce that stays on the tray for added goodness. My friend and I ran to the car and we each took the biggest bite. It was very soft, sweet, and magical. In less than 5 minutes it was gone. A glass of milk would have made the experience even better. They might have had milk in the fridges in the back, but I think my advice would be to have them sell milk up front - it would be a HIT! It was worth the drive and wait. GIANT cinnamon buns (Gluten Free available), brioche donuts (filled with either vanilla bean custard or raspberry jam), sourdough loaves, and brioche buns. After finding parking on the street, my friends and I joined the line going out the door. The line itself snaked through the inside of the market but it moved fairly quickly. It lulled for a time as we presumably waited for fresh buns to come out of the oven. They had music blasting and people were orderly so while I wouldn't wait here on the regular, it was a fun adventure. It took about 30 minutes to get up to the counter. It's clear the employees here had been at it for hours already but when it was our turn, they were a breath of fresh air. We felt unrushed during our interaction. Big smiles on their faces, they chatted with my husband and I about our preferences. He went with a darker, crispier option while I opted for a softer offering. Drenched in cinnamon and icing, this truly was one of the best cinnamon buns I've ever had. So so soft, warm out of the oven.... Absolutely melts in your mouth. I'll start by saying the cinnamon buns are good, and the sourdough is too. Today I had a customer service issue that was an over promise and very much an under deliver. I called and asked if I could get two sourdough loaves, and I was told yes, they will be ready at 3:00. I go back at 3:00 and the bread is still in the oven. 3:25 and still no bread. I get told it was a crazy day, we could not keep up with production. I get that, and I would have respected them more if I was told Nope we can't deliver on the sourdough today. However, for 18.00 s loaf I expect them to manage their production line. All i got was an apology, but no offer to make it right. I also saw one of the managers save cinnamon buns for some one. When I asked why she did it for one person, I was told " Oh it's because I know them." Oh, ok. So, the buns are good, their ability to manage their production is meh, and their customer service is not the best. Are the buns worth the poor service, probably not. Right now they are resting on the hype. I hope they can manage their customer service in a way they can stay in business long term, time will tell. read more
