I was having a NOLA CRAVING and dropped in and got me a cotton candy and wedding cake snowball from Coach Slim. He's always nice and down to earth but he's from NOLA so that's expected. The service is always fast and polite and it's always clean! The wall mural gives me homey vibes every time I walk in, I love this place! The ice is so soft and basically melts in your mouth. If you're ever in Carrollton, you should stop by. read more

These are authentic snowballs from a New Orleans guy. The ice was smooth and there are plenty of flavors available. I selected cotton candy and another flavor with condensed milk on top. It tasted like nostalgia. There are also other snacks and hot foods available. There's plenty of parking since it's attached to a strip mall and there are a few spots to sit at. My husband and I went by and picked up 2 snowcones. This is the best snowcone I have ever had!!!! I got the "Sock it to me" flavor! Delicious!! The ice was a great, smooth, and soft texture. There was plenty of great flavored syrup. Coach Slim was very friendly. It is at the corner of Trinity Mills and Midway, west of the car wash. We hope to be back soon!!! read more

If you're looking for authentic Louisiana SNOBALLS this is your place! I got a large wedding cake w coconut and a small wedding cake and y'all know wedding cake is a staple so it was good! While we were there we got some good ole southern hospitality that you don't get here in Texas and some good conversation! Native New Orleanian here. I was happy to find a traditional Nola style snowball stand (shop). The service was great and location appeared to be clean. Unfortunately the ice was not smooth and the snowball was very dry. Maybe I should have requested more juice but my coach slim flavor (pineapple and peach) was disappointing. I may try them again. read more

I was elected party planner for my nephew's 4th birthday party. Due to COVID, my mom thought it would be a fun idea to have a party outdoors, serving snow cones & bbq--all while social distancing. I begin searching for a sno cone aficionado---- that's when I stumbled across Coach Slim's Yelp page! After reading the reviews, I was a little hesitant on contacting him. He was described as "rude and unprofessional." But his flavors looked great and he has NOLA roots, so I ignored all warnings and gave him a call. Ok, sure he's not Mr. Rogers, but Coach Slim was neither rude nor unprofessional with me. He's the cool guy---not easily excited and knows how to handle business directly. He was hesitant at accepting our offer as well (due to the pandemic) but he eventually, he did! We asked Coach Slim to arrive at 6---this guy was pulling up at 5:30! Not only did he bring more flavors than what we asked for, he even designed a specialty Sno Ball called "Da Fenix"---named after the birthday boy. I tried Da Fenix (I believe it was Orange & Wedding Cake) & the Drew Brees (Sour Apple & Cherry). The flavors tasted amazing together--but the ice could've been softer. Were they the best Sno Balls I've ever had in my life? No. But Coach Slim gets an A+ for his promptness, communication & honesty! read more

The best shaved ice around. This life long Texan tried the evaporated milk additive for the first time and just like New Orleans they know what they are doing with food! We also had the chili dog. So excellent I returned the very next day with my spouse and we got 3 more! This place is privately owned. I hope they stay around for a long time, but they need business. I'll tell everyone I know about them as they are that good! read more

This establishment kept popping up on my FYP on all social media platforms so of course I took my daughter and grandson. Upon arrival we were greeted, our order was taken and Coach Slim actually talked to us and explained the combination of flavors and how he came up with them. I had never had a New Orleans style sno ball but I must say I'm a fan. His syrup's and flavor combos are too tier. We're currently working our way down his Da Hidden Nola High School Menu! read more

These snowcones are really similar to Hansen's in New Orleans, which is how all other snowcones are judged by me. These are very good, and the only real difference is in the ice.... Hansen's has zero chunks, not even pea-sized. It's completely shaved. Coach Slims ice has a tiny chunk here and there. We'll definitely be back to try more flavors (I did boring old vanilla, and my husband did the Sock it to Me, and both were delicious! We wanted to try one with ice cream in the middle, but they didn't have ice cream on our visit. Prices are very reasonable. read more

This place is soooo addicting. I've never had a snow cone with cream and now I'm hooked. The ice itself is SUPER smooth no hard pieces and the flavors do not taste artifical and to syrupy. Also try their New Orlea s chips I had green onion and they was DELICIOUS. Coach and his staff are very friendly and attentive. Prices are good you get your moneys worth. Drove 30 min to try this snow cone shop. Got there at 9:30pm... online says they close at 10pm. THEIR FRONT DOOR SAYS THEY CLOSE AT 10pm. Lights off, door locked. Change your hours if you're not going to stay open until your advertised closing time. read more

Came across this place by accident and let me tell you I was so happy I did. I just moved here at the beginning of the year from NOLA and hadn't had a snoball in a long time and trust me everything was good. The ice was soft and the flavors was poppin. I found this place on a google search for "sno cones" as it got hot outside so this place was right on time ; they have beautiful walls with cool art that depicts New Orleans ; OWNERS ARE SO PLEASANT love the snack options ; love the different flavors my girls (6&2) always get rainbow and finish the small cup always ! Coach Slim has the best Snowcones for your $. Way bigger sizes for $ compared to Bahama Bucks. He is generous with the flavoring and even does the cream, if you like that on your snow cone, inside and on top. I tried the WhoDat with cream and it was fire. 2nd time I went back I had The Who Dat but substituted the Cherry for Strawberry instead and was even better for my preference. There is a specific way to order that he has listed on the window of his truck so be sure to pay attention to that. I see some mention that he is "rude" but I chalk that up to Coach Slim expecting customers to read as well as him just asking direct questions based on the process that he conducts his business. Has never come across as rude to me. Also offers ball park snack food like nachos, hot dogs, and brisket nachos as well. read more

You go, Coach Slim! These are probably the best snow cones I have ever eaten in my entire life. The location is kind of random, so don't let it throw you off. He's in the Walgreens parking lot on the Lebanon side, and you can't miss the big yellow snow mobile. BRING CASH (or just get cash back at Walgreens...whatever works). He's also open till 10pm. I live in uptown Dallas and was randomly in the area, but I would GLADLY drive all the way here again...on the regular... just for one of these masterpieces. Make sure Coach Slim makes your snow cone personally, because he packs in the super fine ice like an absolute pro and adds the perfect amount of syrup. I officially LOVE this place! read more

There are few times when a snow cone is easily crafted but this place exceeded my expectations. From the kind and easygoing atmosphere to the quaint people making the Snowcones. This place doesn't have the super soft snow cones but the delicious crunchy ones and the tigers blood is to DIE FOR! Delicious I'm coming back again tomorrow. These snow cones are good, but coach is SO rude! The ice is nice and soft, and he's got a decent assortment of flavors. However, before we even got up to the window, he yelled "WHAT SIZE." LOVE Coach Slim snowballs!!! I'm from New Orleans and Snowballs is a treat that every kid and adult is hooked on and is obsessed with and let me just say Coach Sim knows how to make his snowballs the right NOLA way. Soft fluffy ice packed in the cup perfectly with the sweetest and tastiest syrup to top it off (cool fact: he buys his syrups from New Orleans and drives it back to Dallas!) This guy is super friendly and makes you feel at home while enjoying his snowball on a hot Texas summer day. I got the wicked mango and my husband got the cinnamon toast croffle . Both were SOOO good . The tables were a bit dirty, but the place gets busy and we came within an hour of them closing so I guess it's to be expected . Either way, we would definitely come back .
