Since I live in Maryland, I don't get to eat at In-n-Out very often but whenever I get the opportunity I usually take it. I had never tried my burger and fries "Animal Style" until today. I was not at all disappointed with that selection. The cheese and onions and sauce really elevated the meal and made it unique and special. I think I will only order it this way from now on. The restaurant itself had plenty of seating and was very clean. The employees were very pleasant as well. They have both indoor and outdoor tables which is nice. Last but certainly not least, you can't beat the price. I have a hard time justifying paying $10-12 for a burger at other places. My Double-Double cheeseburger was $5.55. My raring us om the food alone, it was a drive through pick up. There is a lot of hype on In-N-Out burgers, unfortunately it did not meet the bar. I googled how to order the protein style and as I got to the menu I went for it. The staff was super helpful on me getting my exact order or so I thought. According to my google search my request is a special order. I originally wanted the tomatoes for buns instead of the lettuce wrap but overall that didn't change my thoughts on the burger. The patty was super thin and the tomatoes was soggy so I doubt these would have been good buns in general. I wasn't impressed at all about this burger, what helped was their special sauce that I asked for on the side to be cautious side. In the end I'm not a fan and most likely won't go reorder. read more

Throwback to my time in Dallas back in October, I had a few drinks and I was hungry. Driving around and seeing this spot, I pulled in the drive thru and ordered my double double combo and then drove back to my hotel to scarf down. Maybe I was lucky but this was a burger that was everything I could've hoped for. The burger kept well and was tender, juicy, and flavorful. People hate on the fries which is why you get them animal style. They also gave me extra animal sauce. Never tried the fries by themself so can't say if their bad. Animal style is what you do. And what goes better with burgers than shakes? It's a plain vanilla shake but it's got the right amount of richness and sweetness, kinda like me! My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - All In-N-Out restaurants have the same design. Inside you'll find a brightly light, white, and clean fast food joint. There is also outdoor, shaded seating, a long drive through lane, and two palm trees in the front marking an X. It's always clean, no matter which location I visit. 1 Star. Service - For a fast food restaurant, their service is top notch. It's part of their system. The kitchen is filled with an assembly line of workers who do their jobs with amazing precision. The order takers handle the orders, and the servers call out orders while doubling to help with random customer requests. If you walk up to the counter, a staff member will always ask if they can help you. 1 Star. Food - First thing's first. This is not a gourmet burger. You can't compare it to all the great burger restaurants in DFW. But then again, it's not trying to be. What you get is a super fresh burger made any way you want. The right comparison is your (below) average fast food burger. I prefer a 3x1 (three meat + 1 cheese) with mustard instead of the thousand island spread. Also, the fries are also fresh, which means you need to add salt to make em really tasty. TIP: Add salt right when you get your order and the fries are still hot. Their fries are the weak link though. You'll need to add LOTS of salt and pepper. Shakes are great too, very thick and not kind to those who are lactose intolerant. I've enjoyed In N out at so many different locations and received the same quality food and service It truly impresses me. I am also impressed by their extremely reasonable pricing. There burgers are among my favorite when it comes to fast food and in some cases they're even better than a sit-down casual dining experience style burger. The fries are just okay and are nothing to write home about (I prefer thick french fries over shoestring) but with that said once again they are extremely consistent with preparation which makes them a favorite amongst Un-favorites.
