Tried the Addison location. Too small to dine in. Food is good. Anytime I want soul food this is the only place I will go. Try the fried ribs, they are seasoned to perfection and so tasty. The customer service is always good.

Oxtail Bowl! Had to give another angle!

**This review is for the Frisco, TX location which was not listed on Yelp as of yet. ** Taste-wise, this place did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the oxtails and yams -- so flavorful and worth the hype. But the service experience was rough. I placed a to-go order at 4:30 PM and didn't leave until 5:45 PM. After getting a text that my food was ready, I found out it had been given to someone else by mistake. A kind young man from the kitchen remade my $145 order, but it added another 30-45 minutes to my wait. The owner acknowledged the issue and offered a $76 refund, which I appreciated, but honestly, the whole order should've been comped due to the over an hour wait for take out. On the bright side, the atmosphere is a chill vibe -- blues music, beautiful murals, a nice bar, and friendly staff. Huge shoutout to Zyh'aire, who was patient, professional, and smiling through it all. She and the staff member in the kitchen would be the reason I'd consider giving this place another shot---and of course the food!. Bottom line: amazing food and great atmosphere. A more organized to-go system -- one that verifies names and receipts before handing out orders -- would go a long way in improving the customer experience. If they fix the to-go system, they'll have something truly special here and would be the hang out on the weekends.

This cornbread bowl was unreal. We got yams, Mac and cheese, and greens with our catfish bowl. We also ordered the chicken wings and fries. I wouldn't have changed anything about it, it was so delicious! This meal was so hefty and put me in a food coma an hour later. Service was great too, the lady taking our order was very nice and we didn't have to wait long. There is no inside seating available right now so we had to eat in the car- just a heads up!

Went on a Sunday when they first opened. To avoid the long wait, I would not come on a Sunday. I was told when I got to the register that it's the worst but best day to come. You will have to wait in the same line for carry out and done in FYI. They are nice enough to put out water for guests to drink while they wait to come inside. Ordered catfish nuggets, mac and cheese, greens, beans and crawfish eggrolls. Catfish was hot fresh seasoned and crispy. Unfortunately I found a hair in my fish but the team kindly prepared me a new batch. Mac wasn't bad. Maybe a little overcooked and slightly lacking flavor but not bad Beans were great!! I didn't taste any crawfish in the eggrolls. It seemed like it was just boudin in there which is fine. But again, fyi. My Fiance and mom had the greens and said they were good just could use more seasoning.

5/5 - Flavor, Vibes, and Real Ones! If you're looking for food that hits your soul and service that makes you feel like family, Soulful Street Bites is it. The food? Absolutely delicious. Every bite had that made-with-love flavor, and you can taste the care in every plate. And let me just say, that Kool-Aid? Bomb. Ice cold, sweet (but not too sweet), and straight-up nostalgic. Don't skip it! What really stood out was the top-tier service. Every staff member, everyone on that team, was professional, warm, and real. It didn't feel like a typical customer exchange. It felt like catching up with friends who happen to throw down in the kitchen. That kind of energy is rare and unmatched. Soulful Street Bites isn't just a meal. It's an experience. I'll be back!

This place did not disappoint! The food was good and fresh. The service was warm and friendly, family feel. Old school atmosphere. Whatever would food your craving they have it. The prices are what to expect. I got smoke chicken wings with broccoli cheese rice, cabbage, and the cool aid! It all had me humming. Def on my regular list.

    Banana Pudding

We ordered the turkey leg and 3 sides. The food is good and the portions are in line with the prices. They could give you a larger helping of sides. The containers are very small and are not full. We went to the location in Frisco. The banana pudding we ordered just 1 and it is very dark in color. I've never seen banana pudding a light brown. Too much vanilla I guess. It's not that great in taste. We got our food to go.

I was in town and a friend suggested this business, their menu has a lot of options and a lot to choose from. We wanted to try a little of everything. -Catfish bites plate (it came with one side and hush puppies I got crawfish egg rolls) -Wings please (hot lemon pepper) -Chicken Wing plate (it came with one side chose mac & cheese) -ordered a side of cabbage and sweet potatoes Dislike: The sweet potatoes that were cooked good but lacked sweetness for me. The cabbage also lacked flavor and the huge chunks weren't cooked down. I excepted more out of the crawfish eggrols and they were just okay. I had sandals on and the floor was greasy or something cause I was sliding when I walked wasn't very safe walking with my drink in my hand.

Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Very professional staff. Everyone in there is extremely helpful and nice. I will be back. Some of the best Kool-Aid I've ever had. Ribs were really good. I really enjoy this place.

Addison store review: Ordered to go online and it was quick and easy, but first I did called the store to see if I can order on the phone and I was directed online. Dont expect that they will have plates you see on IG because some plates are for limited days. Ordered 2 soulful bowls and the totally was $69.78! A hefty price for 2 bowls but it was gigantic! One bowl was wings and the other was catfish. The bottom of the bowl are cornbread and they gave me a cornbread for each bowls so it was toooo much cornbread. Flavor was good but not smack your mama lol type of flavor - as they advertised on IG! Not sure if we would return again, we are used to cajun style flavor and this one is what they call a Mississippi style.

I showed up and the line wasn't long so it only took 15 min to get my food. Good music and very homey vibes. I had the catfish bites and shrimp and the vegetable plate so I could try some sides. Catfish bites and shrimp- 9/10 shrimp was amazing and catfish was good Mac-n-cheese- 9/10 Really good, I'm just picky about the brown crust Southern Greens- 7/10 good but could have more meat and seasoning Broccoli Rice Cheese- 8/10 very good

This place NEVER disappoints. I swear everything I come it feels like I am going to my Aunties house for some GREAT soul food. Everything is always seasoned to perfection and oh the desserts are always perfect not too sweet but just right !!! I love all their sides. Trust you won't leave disappointed and get there early all the good stuff gets SOLD OUT if you go late in the day in the weekends.

All smiles and eager to help, my kind of customer service! We were seated shortly after arrival, with no reservation, so that was nice! We dined in for Sunday brunch, nice sized crowd & the football games were on the TVs. Our server, Kevin, was so sweet and attentive. For the table: Fried catfish - amazing! Not too greasy, cooked perfectly and battered/seasoned well. Kevin confirmed that the fish is cooked in separate oil, win for me when I'm eating pescatarian. Waffle - delicious! Personally, I don't like my waffles crunchy so happy to report theirs were soft and fluffy! They add cinnamon to their batter which is a nice touch. Grits - both the cheese and regular were enjoyed! Cornbread - solid! A nice helping of butter served on top. Margarita - also solid! My only "pain point" would be that the building could use an update inside but clean nonetheless.

Super busy, inside the door was being held open since there was just people coming in and out. Had to get on a waitlist and that took an 45 to an hour to be seated. Once seated, the server wasn't anywhere to be found until 15 minutes after. I'm sure it was extremely backed up. But then the order didn't come after an hour. At that time, I didn't feel as hungry anymore so maybe I'll come back on a slower day. The food was decent but the sides were all pretty sodium loaded and the chicken was pretty greasy. The ambiance was and the hostesses were helpful. I would recommend to go on a slower day at least once if you haven't tried this place. Everything costs $60+, In my opinion the dishes are a bit overpriced. If you're watching out for your calories with this one then just forget it!

Just to the right of the sign were two Level 2 chargers. We each ordered two 2 meat plates, which included two sides. When we got home and opened the to-go boxes, we realized we had WAY over-ordered. We had enough for two meals for each of us! We had chicken and pork ribs, mac & cheese and flat green beans. It was very tasty with a sweet and spicy barbecue sauce. I spoke with the owner and thanked him for supporting EVs, to which he replied, "How could I not? It's what's coming. How could I not get on board?" He mentioned that quite a few of his customers found him on Plugshare.com and stop by regularly for a meal and charge. I had to Google "So mote it be."

I genuinely want this place to succeed, which is why I still give it chances every so often. Today (Feb 24, 2026) I stopped in with my daughter just to pick up sides. Many menu items were unavailable (we were told no greens), so we ordered cabbage, sweet potatoes, and cornbread. The total was about $15 and I paid $20 and told him to keep the change as a tip. Unfortunately, the food quality was disappointing. The cabbage was essentially plain steamed cabbage -- very underseasoned and more like cafeteria vegetables than braised southern cabbage. I actually had to go home and re-season and cook it further just to make it edible. The sweet potatoes tasted good, but they had a noticeable smoky/BBQ odor, like they had absorbed grease or smoke from the kitchen environment. The cornbread itself was very good, but the portion was extremely small -- basically a sample-sized piece. Considering I tipped $5 on a small order, it would have been nice to include an additional piece or two. The biggest ongoing issue, though, is consistency. Over the years the restaurant is frequently out of items and the quality varies visit to visit. The dining/kitchen area is also visibly worn and could really benefit from a deep clean and upkeep. I truly say this respectfully because I remember how good this place used to be. The potential is still there, but right now the food and overall experience don't match the prices being charged.

For my entrée, I clearly came hungry because I ordered both the jerk chicken with greens, smoked turkey, and mac and cheese, plus the catfish and spaghetti after our amazing waitress Justice highly recommended it. Let me just say, she did not miss. Everything was seasoned well, hot, and worth every bite. For drinks, I had the blackberry margarita and the tequila old fashioned. My server was the sweetest and most polite person. She checked on me and my mom multiple times. She was friendly and helpful. So I must say my service was welcoming and AMAZING! So if you have left overs it's already set to go. The food came out hot and fresh. The fish was fried nicely. I wish it was seasoned a bit more for my liking. It was pretty good though. It was a great size and again fried to perfection. The hush puppies were really tasty. The fried corn fritter was delicious. The pickled tartar sauce was unique and I loved it. OMG the cabbage was so DAMN GOOD! This stole the show. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned with love. It touched my soul and I wanted to lick my container. The Mac and Cheese was a NO for me. It was like black pepper and cheese sauce. It was just blah and II didn't even eat it. However, others may like it, but it wasn't that great. Sorry Nana! Overall I had a good visit!
