Found this Soulful Street Bites on social media while I was in TX last week and it did not disappoint. The oxtails were excellent and so were the yams. The greens weren't my fav which was the consensus of the group. Everyone else enjoyed their meal as well. We visited on a Sunday. I'd definitely recommend getting there early because it got busy pretty quickly. But, definitely check out this place.

I have been waiting to try this place and I was smacked dab between both of their locations. We went with this location because they had a few less rules for purchasing the food from them. Also, you cannot place an order until 12:30 PM so plan ahead for that. The only downside about the Addison location was they had less selection than the Irving location, but all the things we got were amazing. I felt like my mother was in the room when I ate the food. She always cooked like this and in big portions and was from Mississippi. The food is pricey, but the portions are massive, and the smothered pork chop soul bowl could've easily been shared with 2-3 people. Their catfish is the best I've had in a long time. Everything was amazing. This is the real deal.

Tried the Addison location. Too small to dine in. Food is good. Anytime I want soul food this is the only place I will go. Try the fried ribs, they are seasoned to perfection and so tasty. The customer service is always good.

**This review is for the Frisco, TX location which was not listed on Yelp as of yet. ** Taste-wise, this place did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the oxtails and yams -- so flavorful and worth the hype. But the service experience was rough. I placed a to-go order at 4:30 PM and didn't leave until 5:45 PM. After getting a text that my food was ready, I found out it had been given to someone else by mistake. A kind young man from the kitchen remade my $145 order, but it added another 30-45 minutes to my wait. The owner acknowledged the issue and offered a $76 refund, which I appreciated, but honestly, the whole order should've been comped due to the over an hour wait for take out. On the bright side, the atmosphere is a chill vibe -- blues music, beautiful murals, a nice bar, and friendly staff. Huge shoutout to Zyh'aire, who was patient, professional, and smiling through it all. She and the staff member in the kitchen would be the reason I'd consider giving this place another shot---and of course the food!. Bottom line: amazing food and great atmosphere. A more organized to-go system -- one that verifies names and receipts before handing out orders -- would go a long way in improving the customer experience. If they fix the to-go system, they'll have something truly special here and would be the hang out on the weekends.

This cornbread bowl was unreal. We got yams, Mac and cheese, and greens with our catfish bowl. We also ordered the chicken wings and fries. I wouldn't have changed anything about it, it was so delicious! This meal was so hefty and put me in a food coma an hour later. Service was great too, the lady taking our order was very nice and we didn't have to wait long. There is no inside seating available right now so we had to eat in the car- just a heads up!

Went on a Sunday when they first opened. To avoid the long wait, I would not come on a Sunday. I was told when I got to the register that it's the worst but best day to come. You will have to wait in the same line for carry out and done in FYI. They are nice enough to put out water for guests to drink while they wait to come inside. Ordered catfish nuggets, mac and cheese, greens, beans and crawfish eggrolls. Catfish was hot fresh seasoned and crispy. Unfortunately I found a hair in my fish but the team kindly prepared me a new batch. Mac wasn't bad. Maybe a little overcooked and slightly lacking flavor but not bad Beans were great!! I didn't taste any crawfish in the eggrolls. It seemed like it was just boudin in there which is fine. But again, fyi. My Fiance and mom had the greens and said they were good just could use more seasoning.

5/5 - Flavor, Vibes, and Real Ones! If you're looking for food that hits your soul and service that makes you feel like family, Soulful Street Bites is it. The food? Absolutely delicious. Every bite had that made-with-love flavor, and you can taste the care in every plate. And let me just say, that Kool-Aid? Bomb. Ice cold, sweet (but not too sweet), and straight-up nostalgic. Don't skip it! What really stood out was the top-tier service. Every staff member, everyone on that team, was professional, warm, and real. It didn't feel like a typical customer exchange. It felt like catching up with friends who happen to throw down in the kitchen. That kind of energy is rare and unmatched. Soulful Street Bites isn't just a meal. It's an experience. I'll be back!

This place did not disappoint! The food was good and fresh. The service was warm and friendly, family feel. Old school atmosphere. Whatever would food your craving they have it. The prices are what to expect. I got smoke chicken wings with broccoli cheese rice, cabbage, and the cool aid! It all had me humming. Def on my regular list.

I was in town and a friend suggested this business, their menu has a lot of options and a lot to choose from. We wanted to try a little of everything. -Catfish bites plate (it came with one side and hush puppies I got crawfish egg rolls) -Wings please (hot lemon pepper) -Chicken Wing plate (it came with one side chose mac & cheese) -ordered a side of cabbage and sweet potatoes Dislike: The sweet potatoes that were cooked good but lacked sweetness for me. The cabbage also lacked flavor and the huge chunks weren't cooked down. I excepted more out of the crawfish eggrols and they were just okay. I had sandals on and the floor was greasy or something cause I was sliding when I walked wasn't very safe walking with my drink in my hand.

    Banana Pudding

We ordered the turkey leg and 3 sides. The food is good and the portions are in line with the prices. They could give you a larger helping of sides. The containers are very small and are not full. We went to the location in Frisco. The banana pudding we ordered just 1 and it is very dark in color. I've never seen banana pudding a light brown. Too much vanilla I guess. It's not that great in taste. We got our food to go.

Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Very professional staff. Everyone in there is extremely helpful and nice. I will be back. Some of the best Kool-Aid I've ever had. Ribs were really good. I really enjoy this place.

The Lemon Pepper wings had a solid flavor but could've used a bit more seasoning to really make the lemon and pepper pop. They were a tad watery but still delivered on taste and left me satisfied. The Mango Habanero wings had a delicious balance of sweetness but lacked the spicy kick you'd expect from a habanero flavor. That said, they were still enjoyable and worth trying again. The fries for both combos were absolutely on point--crispy, golden, and seasoned to perfection! Service was friendly, and the atmosphere was inviting. This is a drive-thru spot, but they also offer parking spots where you can sit and enjoy your meal in your car, which is a nice touch. Would I come back? Definitely! Just a little tweak on the seasoning and spice levels, and this place would easily get a 5-star review.

The combo with wings came with a drink but no fries so my total was nearly $20. I tried to enjoy my food outside and the worker kept smoking her e-cigarettes which was flaring my allergies and kept getting in my mouth as I ate. Would NOT recommend! The restaurant has vibrant decor and murals that transport you to a diverse neighborhood. Every employee who helped us was approachable and kind, checking on us after we were seated and served, going as far as taking photos for us when we asked because we were celebrating our anniversary, and bringing out things we asked for once we were seated. It seems basic to say that, but the warmth and kindness was felt from each employee we interacted with, and I don't want to gloss over their good service. Our order: - Angry Pho Birria Platter - Elote + Chips - Strawberry Lemonade - Ube Horchata The pho (a little spicy) and bao (a little sweet with super tender meat) will make you want to do a happy dance. The wings could have been a little crunchier but they were sauced so it's understandable. The Bang Bang and Spicy Chili flavors were delicious. The Birria tacos were good, but we loved everything else on the platter more. The Elote + chips starter was authentic and yummy. The chips felt like an odd pairing, but it tasted good together! The Strawberry Lemonade was sweet but refreshing. The Ube Horchata was creamy and delicious. Not too sweet, and the ice didn't ruin it. Know before you go: - Arrive early! We got there when they opened at 11 AM on a Friday. Two other parties were already there and waiting to dine, as well. By 11:30 AM, a nice-sized crowd had rolled in. They had no problem getting everyone served quickly, though. - You order and pay first, grab a seat, and then they bring your food out to you. - Yes, the platter sizes are sufficient for two hungry adults to fill up on! You might even have trouble finishing it all. - Their online menu has awesome pictures of each platter option. The platters look smaller in person than in those photos, but as I said, you will definitely get full. - My husband, who is not a pho lover, loved the Angry Pho. - They are closed on Saturdays and Mondays. - They have gluten-free and halal options.

We were pleasantly surprised by how crispy the chicken was; it had a really nice flavor. We also ordered a side of onion rings, which were super crunchy and delicious, and a side of sweet potato waffle fries. We originally wanted to order the K-Meal To-Go for 4-6 people, as we thought it was good value for money, but unfortunately, it wasn't available. They only had the large K-Box To-Go available, which costs around $90. We were told the K-Meals are not available on Fridays so they "don't lose money." If that's the case, then that's terrible marketing. Overall, the chicken and sides were great. We just think the sweet potato waffle fries portion should be larger for the price.
