This is my 3rd time visiting this establishment. Although my turkey burger was a little overly seasoned I would go back. This time I got a turkey burger jr with fries and the portion size was more than enough! The inside was nice and clean. Previous times I've visited the staff was very nice and accommodating. Just delicious! Super impressed at the great customer service, great food and cleanliness of the restaurant and bathroom. I ordered the chicken wings with green beans and potato salad and my friend ordered the chili dog with french fries. If I tell you we were sat-is-fied and happy! I've already told so many people about this joint! I'm six years too late but am happy to have visited with my homie and chowed down on southern home cooking. I must say, that the green beans have a different taste. I'm used to savory green beans but these were sweet. Like while I was eating them I was thinking this could be in a pie. Hands down the best restaurant I've been to in the DFW. Actually, literally one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. What do you come to a restaurant for? food; this place has delivered on every food item I have ever tasted from them. One of the first items I sampled was the burger I eventually went back and ordered my own. Well cooked, no frills (not that I am against frills), just tasty burger. But my first true love were the fries, I am a fries fanatic and these fries are perfectly. Golden brown crinkle fries, well seasoned with seasoning salt; I have come here a few times just for the fries. The chicken sandwich: nicely breaded, balanced, perfectly seasoned, wings: perfect crispy to the skin, nice size ( they offer smoked wings that have a great smokiness to them) and nachos: so fresh and spilling over with toppings. The actual restuarant building is nothing to write home about; hole in the wall, mama and papa establishment look (but it is not dirty!). My one warning is that you must call ahead and give them the quoted time so you don't have to wait. I am not someone who typically goes back to restuarants, because I like trying new places, but the Coach's Box delivers so well every time I visit that I feel like I have to keep coming back! I went for the burger, and added wings to try. I 100% like the burger, but the fries and onion rings could be better. The chicken wings were salty tasting, and had a burnt taste to some of them. The person named SAM at the front answered the phone with a whole attitude and put me on hold while I was trying to order. I had to send my husband in who was near to make the order while I was in the phone and even then she sounded like she had slept on a bed of nails and tacks! Second... Order was made at 11:37a for 4 people and wasn't received until 12:24pm. They item at 11am ‍. That's unacceptable to say the least. There is no lesson like a bought lesson. When a business doesn't see customers' as the reasons you've been able to stay afloat outside of God then it's time for (that customer or customers') to explore other black owned establishments that'll make things right if a customer is disappointed and dissatisfied with their meals. The Coach not making things right as if he didn't care says a lot about him as a businessman. I did have a few good meals here but that ONE BAD experience is all it took to change the whole dynamics of those other six times I visited and made lovely reviews. I think this place is best known for their burgers but today, I had an excellent chef salad and bacon & cheese potato skins from here. I'm always on the look out for a good salad in this area - there aren't many - and this one is the best I've tried so far. You could only get take out today but normally there is plenty of seating. As others have said, it's a little hole in the wall place but it was very clean. The lady at the counter was nice and efficient. My order was ready when they said it would be. My coworker and I agreed that both the salad and the potato skins were fresh and tasty. I thought the toppings to lettuce ratio on the salad leaned heavily to toppings but that's okay. Like she did not want to be at work. Greeted her and ask how her day was going , she just looks at you with a blank face. Some of the best chili cheese fries we have ever had. The spicy fried chicken sandwich was made with a spicy buffalo sauce and was juicy and thicc. Today is the first time I have ever experience rudeness from the owner, Coach! I have been here several times and I have given good reviews but today was not that day. I placed an order at 7 and was told it would be ready it's usually time 15 min. When my son and I arrived, we were greeted with wear a mask or no service... ok cool no problem! However, if you want people to wear a mask in your establishment wear one when cooking customers food and when asked why some workers have one on and some don't you say you can take your business elsewhere. Sir first off, we were not rude when the question was asked, please COACH get out of your feelings, as that is not the way to conduct business. If you want to enforce rules, do it for everyone PERIOD! Secondly when you are taking call in orders, and you tell someone 15 minutes and I have to wait 30 minutes and your excuse is you are too busy, that is not my problem, especially when you never apologized or said hey your order is coming, I am sorry about the longer than usually wait... I mean DAMN... that is not acceptable! In my opinion the way the call should have gone is that we should have been told it would be a wait of 15 - 30 min, and I would have been more understandable. If you are tired and you cannot take the pressure, please exit the kitchen/business coach, you are too much of a reputable person to conduct yourself in the manner that you did. If you cannot respect your customers who are the very ones that make your business, you need a course in people skills. It could be that you even had a bad night but please release your frustration on the correct audience. To the young lady working the counter Thank you for being professional, honest, understanding, and not rude, unlike your boss. Best turkey burgers around!! I'm sure everything else is great and I will definitely get around to trying more items but I'm currently stuck on the turkey burger and fries. The patties are made fresh by hand and seasoned well. The burgers are big too! You can add cheese to it but I find it takes away from the taste of the burger.
