I'm all about supporting great businesses. This happens to be one that serves great food and amazing hospitality. I'm usually right next door getting my hair done and order from the Coaches Box weekly. Then I remember my waistline (lol). But seriously you are missing out. The most flavorful turkey burgers, cheese burgers, hot links, and chicken tacos I've ever tasted. Ever person that I see leave has a smile on their face. The front line workers are nice, knowledgeable and friendly. Fast efficient service and great prices. Make a special trip and stop by and let your taste buds do the talking!! read more

Just delicious! Super impressed at the great customer service, great food and cleanliness of the restaurant and bathroom. I ordered the chicken wings with green beans and potato salad and my friend ordered the chili dog with french fries. If I tell you we were sat-is-fied and happy! I've already told so many people about this joint! I'm six years too late but am happy to have visited with my homie and chowed down on southern home cooking. I must say, that the green beans have a different taste. I'm used to savory green beans but these were sweet. Like while I was eating them I was thinking this could be in a pie. It was throwing me all the way off. I'm not a fan of the green beans because they are sweet. Overall, I will be back with the family! I must introduce everyone to Sam and Coach. Hands down the best restaurant I've been to in the DFW. Actually, literally one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. What do you come to a restaurant for? food; this place has delivered on every food item I have ever tasted from them. One of the first items I sampled was the burger I eventually went back and ordered my own. Well cooked, no frills (not that I am against frills), just tasty burger. But my first true love were the fries, I am a fries fanatic and these fries are perfectly. Golden brown crinkle fries, well seasoned with seasoning salt; I have come here a few times just for the fries. The chicken sandwich: nicely breaded, balanced, perfectly seasoned, wings: perfect crispy to the skin, nice size ( they offer smoked wings that have a great smokiness to them) and nachos: so fresh and spilling over with toppings. The actual restuarant building is nothing to write home about; hole in the wall, mama and papa establishment look (but it is not dirty!). My one warning is that you must call ahead and give them the quoted time so you don't have to wait. I am not someone who typically goes back to restuarants, because I like trying new places, but the Coach's Box delivers so well every time I visit that I feel like I have to keep coming back! God bless the coach (i.e. the chef) and you would be doing yourself a disservice by not going to visit him. read more

I've been to this place multiple times for my dad and every time I go, they're out of potato salad. No big deal. I go to pick up an order for my father, a pork chop dinner with beans and potato salad. I get there and order a second side of it for myself. Cool. I wait for about 25m even though it was supposed to be done by the time I got there. No problem. But things take a turn when they come to tell me they are out of potato salad for the meal. I say, ok give the side you made for me to my dad, the original order, and I'll take a refund. Instead they side bar for 10m and then present me with the scrapped bottom of the potato salad for my dad, and refuse to give us a refund. And when I say the scraped up bottom I mean runny smashed potato salad that was clearly scraped from the sides of the pan. I paid in cash, why can't I have a refund for the thing you said you're out of? Why would you turn around and give us a terrible food experience instead? We will never, I mean, never give this place our money again. Ever. read more

You cannot enter the restaurant if you don't have a MASK. The salad I ordered wasn't intended to be the healthiest, but the salad was great. I ate half of it before I put the dressing on. read more

Well I tried and this is my first and will be my last encounter with this business. One... The person named SAM at the front answered the phone with a whole attitude and put me on hold while I was trying to order. I had to send my husband in who was near to make the order while I was in the phone and even then she sounded like she had slept on a bed of nails and tacks! Second... Order was made at 11:37a for 4 people and wasn't received until 12:24pm. They item at 11am ‍. That's unacceptable to say the least. There is no lesson like a bought lesson. Oh my goodness. The food here is sooo good and the staff are very friendly, engaging, and informative. My friends and I have been twice and have eaten in person and taking it to go. We had burgers, chicken sandwiches, desserts, beverages, and more. When I graduate with my terminal degree, I plan to ask Coaches Box to cater a fun meal for me and my loved ones. This food is literally the best food I've ever tasted I don't know why it's rated low their ribs are so good it's very tender and it falls off the bone easily. I go here with my brother every Saturday or Sunday and I always get the ribs and he gets the beer battered chicken sandwhich and those are like the best thing to get. Their service is also real good as well their very kind and awesome. The ambience is alright for the most part it does look a bit run down but for the most part the food is the best. read more

I think this place is best known for their burgers but today, I had an excellent chef salad and bacon & cheese potato skins from here. I'm always on the look out for a good salad in this area - there aren't many - and this one is the best I've tried so far. You could only get take out today but normally there is plenty of seating. As others have said, it's a little hole in the wall place but it was very clean. The lady at the counter was nice and efficient. My order was ready when they said it would be. My coworker and I agreed that both the salad and the potato skins were fresh and tasty. I thought the toppings to lettuce ratio on the salad leaned heavily to toppings but that's okay. To day my wife and I decided to visit the Coaches Box for a lunch date.We like buying our lunch at good businesses that also means good black businesses in which I hold to a higher standard we often go to the park in Duncanville,TX to enjoy our lunch.Well it wasn't that way today because of the poor service we received today.The food was good but poorly presented (Grilled catfish) and the Consistency in portions was off and poorly planed.My definition of a good restaurant is very basic Friendly,Clean,good service and good products.Then you can ask a price that would normally be considered to high (1st Timothy 5:18) I hope that the coaches box will examine their business from the opening of the door to the closing that includes the full operation between. then hopefully they will become a good business. I'll give you the bad first. The service can be sooooooooo slow. Do not come here for your lunch break unless you've placed an order in advance. I recommended two people to this place and they were late to work. If your reading this, I'm sorry. Even though they were late to work, I knew Coaches Box would have my back. My friend ordered the turkey burger and after her walk of shame, she let me know that her burger was really good. She also loved the seasoned fries and so do I! I've been here multiple times and they never disappoint. They don't play games...the meat is always bigger than the bread. I respect them for that. The fries always fill up the box. Been coming here for 7 years. Was GREAT at one point of time. Came in today With a simple order .. wings , and catfish right after church.. The lady at the register Aura was so BAD. Like she did not want to be at work. Greeted her and ask how her day was going , she just looks at you with a blank face. Asked her "is the catfish a good size " she ignores my statement and says "how many pieces you want ?" Didn't even tell us how long the food will be ... Didn't sound enthusiastic at all, energy low , I understand we go through stuff as people , but I try my BEST. To support black businesses, because I know people put us in a box.... Best turkey burgers around!! I'm sure everything else is great and I will definitely get around to trying more items but I'm currently stuck on the turkey burger and fries. The patties are made fresh by hand and seasoned well. The burgers are big too! You can add cheese to it but I find it takes away from the taste of the burger. The fries are sprinkled with a little seasoning which makes me finish all my fries before touching the burger. My food has always been hot and fresh even with a call in order. Go ahead and try them out you won't be disappointed. read more

Some of the best chili cheese fries we have ever had. The spicy fried chicken sandwich was made with a spicy buffalo sauce and was juicy and thicc. Today is the first time I have ever experience rudeness from the owner, Coach! I have been here several times and I have given good reviews but today was not that day. I placed an order at 7 and was told it would be ready it's usually time 15 min. When my son and I arrived, we were greeted with wear a mask or no service... ok cool no problem! However, if you want people to wear a mask in your establishment wear one when cooking customers food and when asked why some workers have one on and some don't you say you can take your business elsewhere. Sir first off, we were not rude when the question was asked, please COACH get out of your feelings, as that is not the way to conduct business. If you want to enforce rules, do it for everyone PERIOD! Secondly when you are taking call in orders, and you tell someone 15 minutes and I have to wait 30 minutes and your excuse is you are too busy, that is not my problem, especially when you never apologized or said hey your order is coming, I am sorry about the longer than usually wait... I mean DAMN... that is not acceptable! In my opinion the way the call should have gone is that we should have been told it would be a wait of 15 - 30 min, and I would have been more understandable. If you are tired and you cannot take the pressure, please exit the kitchen/business coach, you are too much of a reputable person to conduct yourself in the manner that you did. If you cannot respect your customers who are the very ones that make your business, you need a course in people skills. It could be that you even had a bad night but please release your frustration on the correct audience. To the young lady working the counter Thank you for being professional, honest, understanding, and not rude, unlike your boss. You cannot have good food when you have horrible customers service skills. It is ok to be tired coach take a vacation or the day off... it is called PTO for a reason! read more

Honestly I really wanted to like this place more but the whole experience was lackluster as hell. Idk what I missed or if we came on a bad day. But visiting from out of state and wanting to try some Texas BBQ, it was not what I expected. The cashier seemed to want to get our order in a rush, and I felt like I needed to order right away but I was still going over the menu. She was friendly at the end when she was explaining this app that their restaurant was on but I guess for business purposes. We ordered take out and the other woman seemed bothered that we decided to wait for our order inside. Let me just say, if you're a business and your patrons are going to have to wait 40+ min for their food, you might want to inform them. We easily could've left and came back to pick it up if I would've have known the wait was going to be that long. Just a tip to the business. We ordered to go, which included a full rack of ribs, brisket plate, and added on some sides of baked beans and potatoes salad. Also all the plates don't come with a choice of a side, they come with fries and for an ADDITIONAL charge you can pick?? Why not just have people be able to choose their sides? So let's just get to it, the ribs were okay, meat was tender but fatty. The brisket was tough and just masked in sauce to make up for it being rough to the teeth. The sides were just meh and baked beans had too much sugar, really thick. And the extra sides we ordered, there was no difference of size like if I have to pay $3 might as well make it more than the side you'll put on a regular plate. Lackluster expierence. But I mean, they seem to have people that enjoy this place. Just not me. read more

I arrived at 2:08, and parked in the curbside pickup spot and waited. By 2:26 I began to get a little concerned so I called inside. Someone answered the phone and I asked if my order came through successfully to which the young lady responded, "Yes! I saw your curbside order come through, but I don't see you in the parking lot." I waived my hand to show her I was there and get this, I waited an additional 10 minutes and the food still didn't come out. By this time, my grandson is getting upset. I go ahead and pull up to the drive thru and was greeted by a very kind young lady. I told her my dilemma and she radioed into the restaurant what was happening. She thought she was talking to someone, but when she finished telling them what was happening, no one ever responded with a follow up. I went on and drove around and let the lady know why I was there and gave her my phone to show proof of purchase. This young lady proceeds to ask me, "Did you pay for it already"? At this moment, I'm mortified!!! I still kept my cool, because I didn't want a drink or cane's sauce with a secret spit ingredient. After 30 minutes I finally got my food, and I believe I received it because my facial expression let them know I was extremely angry! I've NEVER been treated so poorly in my entire life! I will never, ever go back to this place again!

If I could give 0 stars I would. The employee refused to serve me because i stood up for myself against being cussed out by the owner. Here's the story, my accountability is there. I have asthma and told them that hoping they would just hurry up and get me out of there, but they were anal asf and the food wasnt for me so I still put it over my face over one ear and covered it with my hand for security, after still being refused i put it over there other. The mask was on. I also decided to call out the fact that the owner was in the back preparing the food with no mask on! But they want to be anal about mine? He cussed at me for that and i cussed at him back, duhhh... but the employee then refused to serve me because i stood up for myself after being cursed out for calling out hypocrisy!! As if i couldn't be it out of there in five seconds avoiding all of this and having another satisfied customer? Your business, your rules, but if im coveringmy face, to where you absolutely cannot be infected by anything I have.. I'm respecting your rules... AND the preparer of the food is over the food with no mask... Your trippin and just want to control ppl with actual power because you lack any power. That's not an opinion. There is no reason to still be this afraid of covid AND be breathing and talking and cussing me out directly over everyone's food with no mask. It makes no logical sense. And how you gonna turn me away because i call out your hypocrisy and you say "I can do that, if i come up and talk to you I'll wear one" make it make sense. Anyone I know will be turned away from spending a dollar with these fear based folks. If You're values are like mine, mannnn don't waste your time and money and then get there to be met with this energy. If you have different values go for it!! Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but I was practically dying of hunger so I popped in. The definition of a hole-in-the-wall. I got the regular hamburger and wow... there are no words. A classic burger done right. Crisp bun, juicy patty, stuffed with all the essentials (ketchup, shredded lettuce, tomato, and pickles). There's about a million options available between the menu board and wall full of specials, so it can get a little overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong. My wife and I had just arrived in town looking for a place to get some good fresh food. We agreed on the Coaches Box. We were greeted by a very nice staff and very clean restaurant. My wife had the bacon cheese burger w/fries and I had catfish. The food was excellent! If you are ever in Duncanville near Dallas you definitely want to eat at the Coaches Box.
