From the moment I was dropped off until I got through security was all of 12 minutes! This airport terminal is bright, clean, spacious. I had two hours to relax in the food court area--lots of natural lighting from the windows, plenty of seating. I ordered an acai bowl and enjoyed people watching and looking at planes.

On a recent flight, delays kept getting pushed back until they reached two hours and then, out of nowhere, the time jumped back to a 15-minute delay/on-time departure. We nearly missed our flight because of this. I rely on email and text updates rather than sitting at the gate for hours. It's 100% on the airline to communicate reliably and give advance notice when a delayed time shifts back to schedule. Great in-flight experience, but the stress makes it tough to rely on them.

Not only was it a way to drastically cut our expenses (domestic flights from within Mexico are obviously way cheaper than international flights from LA), but it was such a calm, streamlined, easy operation. We got to the parking lot early for our 7am flight out of Tijuana, walked to the check in terminal & that's where we encountered our one and only 'hiccup.' Because we had 3 children with us, the Viva desk check-in said we needed to speak to a representative but we were told the only one on duty at that time was in the restroom. Luckily the stand alone kiosk on the other side of the area worked out fine. All of this was more of a Viva issue than a CBX one. We breezed through the bridge over the boarder & customs took no time at all. It was one of the quickest customs experiences I've ever had. We got dumped out right at the bag check area & were on for our trip. Coming home was just as easy. We got our bags and followed the well marked signs to CBX to walk over the boarder & do customs. Customs took a tad bit longer than going to Mexico, but that's more of a US thing than CBX. We still got through in was less time than expected, even when arriving on a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend when I would normally expect huge crowds of people trying to get in to the country. In all, we saved hundreds of dollars even after paying for CBX & parking on location. We will always be using them from here on out for any family trips to Mexico.

I have flown out of the Tijuana airport a few times in my life, the most recent time being last…read moreweek. It was the first time I went to that airport since CBX had been constructed. Hubby and I were headed to Puerto Escondido, which is very expensive and very time-consuming to fly to from the airport in San Diego. However, flight prices and times were much more reasonable from Tijuana. Thanks to CBX, we didn't need to find anyone to cross the border and drive us directly to the airport, especially as our flight departed at 5:40 AM. It was nice to have an easy drop off on this side of the border. Anyway, we were dropped off on the US side, and had pre-purchased CBX tickets online for $50 per person, round trip. I felt that the price was very fair for the staffing and amenities along the way. We had already reserved a rideshare to drive us to CBX, but I saw the secure parking lots and realized that parking there is also a valid, safe option. It appeared that some of the secured parking cost about $30 per day, making it a good option depending how may days you would like to park your car. Anyway, when we entered, there were people guiding us, as it wasn't too crowded at that early hour. You scan your CBX ticket, your boarding pass, and your passport. Then you are able to walk through the barriers. There are escalators and elevators to get to the bridge, and signs stating that there is assistance available for people with disabilities. The bridge was clean and air-conditioned. We walked through customs just prior to entering the Tijuana airport. When I had learned about CBX, I was reluctant. A friend of mine told me that she had walked much further in various airports. It is true. The walk is short and easy Upon coming back to the states, we learned that there were several taco and other food trucks on the US side of CBX, as well as Starbucks and a well-known mall pretzel company. All in all, I am grateful to have a way to access the TJ airoprt in a very easy and affordable way. I plan to continue to use CBX for more affordable flights south of the border.

The security area is in a huge vaulted area so it doesn't feel cramped at all. If anything, it feels warm & inviting due to all of the glass windows. Our trip through it was quick due to it being early in the morning, but I would imagine it would be a nice place to have to stand in a line while waiting to clear the detectors/bag x-rays. Once inside, things are clearly labeled and easily laid out. There are plenty of places to grab some food should you be hungry, but they're mostly chain places. For the kids they even have a few Lego vending machines (as of July 2026) should you want to give them activity to pass time in the airport or the flight itself. I wanted to speak as much Spanish as possible but I found most employees there spoke great English so I wouldn't worry about there being a language barrier that could prevent you from moving about & getting to where you need to be. I also want to say that on our return trip back, by the time we got off the plane, went to the restroom, and got to baggage claim, our bags were not only there, they had been taken off the belt by an employee & put off to the side together with everyone in our party. It was one of the fastest bag retrievals I've ever had in my decades of flying. I was sho happily shocked. If I had one complaint it would be that I wish they had some more restrooms/that they weren't tucked away on other floors or in the corners. We were a family with 3 small kids and having to walk long distances just to use the restroom felt a bit laborious at times. Needless to say, I will have no qualms flying out of, in to, or through the Tijuana airport. It was absolutely pleasant.

Business must be great.. at the expense of having any sanity or peacefulness in the surrounding areas. They need to ban these flight schools NOW before something terrible happens in our neighborhoods beyond the extreme nuisance they are causing to everyone in the area. SHAME ON YOU!

Mohamoud was an excellent driver - he was punctual, promptly reached out to me when I landed and very polite when he picked me up. He was a safe driver and the ride was smooth and plesant. I work in New York City and travel back and forth to San Diego and have used many shutle/sedan companies over the last few years; he was one of the best drivers I have had. I'll be going back in the fugure and definitely requesting him.

The staff on board the plane were friendly and helpful. However, my one major critique was that they only had one staff for general curbside check-in and luggage drop off. Despite using the kiosk to print out our tags ourselves, we still had to wait in a long line to have them weigh our luggage and check our IDs, easily remedied by having at least one more staff. The first class staff did call us over once she was through with her line but I really thought a second economy staff was needed, especially since half the passengers were waiting to check in until they reached the front of the line, old school style, so that the guy had to print out their tags for them and their boarding passes... Thank goodness for TSA precheck which made the security portion of the morning go super fast. In any case my overall impression of Alaska Airlines was improved by the efficiency and comfort of the flight itself.

My last trip was memorable for sure! I suffered a terrible fall and tore my meniscus on the last day of our trip. It was quite the experience! The next day we took a red eye back to San Diego. My wife checked us in and explained that I was going to need a wheel chair. Not only did they provide me with a wheelchair, but they also assisted me and my family with our luggage. With the help of Alaska, they guided us through TSA and directed us to the main gate. They also upgraded my family to business class while upgrading me to first class. From start to finish the process was seamless! Thanks to Alaska Airlines and their superb customer service! I will forever be indebted to them!
