This company just lacks professionalism! Very insensitive and made us feel like the issue was our fault instead of just doing their job and doing what they were there to do. The exterminator that came was rude and seemed as if he was bothered he had to come and do his job. I do not recommend this company. I'm confused as to how there are so many good reviews because this same company has came to my apartment at least 4 times because it's apparent that they are contracted with my property management company. The customer service is horrible and the lady that does the scheduling is just as rude and is in no way a help. If you are searching for an exterminator, I'd steer clear of this company! read more

I recently helped a relative arrange to have the house tented. I won't say that it is a fun process, but Coast Chem people are very good about answering questions. (I was new to this and I had a lot of questions.) Also, the people who came to do the tenting - Salvador and his crew - were very patient - they had to do a good bit to the yard - and I was pleasantly surprised that many of the plants right next to the house were able to survive. (Some did not make it but that is to be expected, I think.) Btw, if you are going through this, know that you may want to ask for extra bags for wrapping up your food. (Things come up at the last moment, such as not being able to remove the dividers in the freezer = more bags. You bag up the food in the refrigerator too - but you don't lose it, because the power stays on. Altogether we used about 16 sets of 2 - you double the bags. Condiments, vitamins, it ends up being a lot. Start a few days ahead - it's not too bad.) read more

Had our house tented told us to leave, next day we get a call saying the house got broken into. When we were there to see the damaged no window was broken as stated they ransacked the rooms and stole a safe out of one of the rooms. These people tented and fumigated my next door neighbor's house last night WITH OUR CAT INSIDE. Isn't it standard protocol and procedure to check the premises and perimeter BEFORE beginning fumigation on a property?!?! I am absolutely heartbroken writing this and outraged! What kind of company could let this happen? We could hear our cat meowing for an hour & essentially dying and we were helpless... We called the "emergency line" on the company's answering message and left multiple messages with an operator and did not receive call back from the owner FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF. Are you kidding me??? What is the point of an emergency line if you don't return the call immediately?! My husband ended up going inside the tent and risking his life and found the cat on the deck, but it was too late. Disgusting customer service. Disgusting lack of competency with their workers. Just had the house tented by Coast Chem. From the estimate (they have a person answering the phones), to billing, I have been satisfied. When I had questions, I called and asked, and they gave me the answers. Blanca was great at the details. On the day-of tenting, Mitchell was great. The group of workers was careful with the shrubs near the walls of the house. It was all done professionally. I have to admit that I had to watch YouTube videos about how to bag up the kitchen items, because I did not have that level of detail provided to me. That's the only reason for not giving 5 stars. Had some challenges when they fumigated my condo complex for termites, as they left 2 small trays that said POISON on my couch, so I was a bit freaked returning home about my safety. Manager called next day and assured me all was well. Irony is, I had opened all my doors to avoid being poisoned...and a HUGE, flying 2" Amercan cockroach flew in and now, after fumigation, I've got a cockroach IN my house where I never had one before! read more

My youngest son (1.5yrs old) was getting flea bites and allergic reaction from flea bites as well. After took him to Dr., I asked my husband to get exterminator. I want you to know, having 2 toddler boys, it's really big deal to move all furnitures in the house away from wall and leave the house for 3~4 hrs. So exterminator from Coast Chem came for 1st time. He seemed nice guy, but FLEAS & ROACHES, SPIDERS, ANTS DID NOT GO AWAY! I called for redo within 2 wks, he came 2nd time. We had to leave house for 4hrs again, and next day, I saw fleas in kids room and patio. My boys are getting new flea bites all over on their body again. I got so frustrated that it didn't work even on 2nd time, I called Coast Chem on Sat, but I guess they are closed on weekend, so I left message that I need call back ASAP, but never got call back yet (it's been 3 days). I have to call them again, and ask for money back. I don't even want them to redo that DOES NOT WORK. Hopefully they will understand and refund money smoothly.... If you are thinking about getting rid of fleas and all pests, CALL ORKIN to save your time. That's what I will do after get money back from Coast Chem. read more

I have never had a issue with Coast Chem Exterminating. I live on a ant hill and have spiders and Coast Chem has been more than accommodating with their services. I have them on a bi-monthly (every 2 months) to come out and spray our yard. Needless to say we don't have fleas, ants, bugs, spiders, or gophers. The previous poster stated it was $140, well mine in never that high. And since it is under warranty, if you need your property sprayed again they come out and do it FREE!!!! read more

My mothers house was just fumigated for termites. WOW what careless workers. They left an expensive planter OUTSIDE the garage even though we put plants where we were supposed to. They left a neighbors houseplant in HER patio? why? They also urinated in the guest bathroom pretty much all over the floor. My experience with Gary and his team was terrific. They were thorough, punctual, fair priced and honest. We have a tile roof, and I have heard horror stories about fumigation companies breaking tons of tiles. Prior to fumigation, Coast Chem guys went up on the roof and told me I already had 30 broken tiles. When the tent came off, they said they broke maybe 5-10 more. Roofers laughed when I told them because they said fumigation companies are notorious for fibbing about how many tiles they break. Sure enough, the roofer went up and said I only have 35 broken tiles. Coast Chem team was honest and careful in doing their work. In addition, Coast Chem does not subcontract out their fumigation. Probably why they take pride in their work. I would highly recommend Gary and his team. read more

We called Coast Chem Exterminating after noticing subterranean termites in our house on the ceiling wood beams! They very promptly came out and did a thorough check of our house, under the house, and attic. They fixed damaged wood, and had to drill through the concrete slab to treat the subterranean termites. They did thorough work and everything was completely patched so that I couldn't even tell where they drilled. We also had our house tented, and they gave us clear instructions. I even loved their tent-it had a big bug on the outside-cute! I would highly recommend them. They gave me peace of mind along with killing all the bugs we had. After having three other termite companies give me bids, Coast Chem gave me a very fair estimate on my two story home. I needed some extensive wood repairs which they completed in December and since the only time frame convenient for me to termite was in March, they said, no problem and would bill me for the entire job after the fumigation. The workers who did the wood repairs were very courteous and very prompt each day and did an outstanding job. After the fumigation, the workers were very attentive to every detail and swept the dirt back into my planters, moved my swing back and put everything back into order. I was very pleased with them. About two weeks later after a brief windstorm, my chimney spark arrester blew off and I contacted them and asked that when they tent my neighbor's home in a couple of weeks, could they please put it back up for me. Well they came out within two hours and had it put back in place. I would highly recommend this company. Their employees from the estimators, the workmen, down to the office employees are very professional, efficient and so courteous. This is a number one business!! read more
