Could not be more pleased with how our backyard turned out! In the back, we had old concrete with orange bricks on the edge, and then various areas of grass (that we kept fighting to keep looking nice). We removed it all, and replaced with beautiful brick pavers, a sitting wall (same bricks) and a small pet turf area for our do. It turned out GORGEOUS!! Besides being beautiful, the workmanship was done really well, and the design actually makes my backyard look much bigger (a plus!) We worked with Karen (owner) to come up with the best layout/plan for our backyard. She worked with me in terms of our budget and ideas I had, and allowed me to have a say in what we selected for sure, but also guided me and gave me advice (which is what I wanted). She provided me samples of the pet turf and bricks, and was available to chat when I needed her. Her guys who did the installation worked really hard and did an excellent job. We got three estimates to redo our backyard. From demolition of the existing concrete, to installing papers, artificial turf and a patio cover. I searched for the highest rated contractors with the best reviews in Orange County. All were within a thousand dollars of each other. So then it came down to who we felt comfortable with. Ultimately, we chose Karen of Coastline Pavers. We are extremely happy with our decision. We showed Karen a rough drawing of what we wanted. She made a few suggestions and tweaks, the end result was a marked improvement. One of Karen's strengths is her design abilities. She then met us at the masonry yard to pick out papers. We showed her what we liked and again she showed us a contrasting paver to mix in it. Again we loved it! She then brought over turf samples. She showed us several pet turfs and she preferred one by Tiger Turf. I looked it up and sure enough they were one of the best. By now we were definitely trusting her decisions! Several days later Maynor and his crew showed up. From start to finish they were fantastic. They were hard working, cleaned up everyday, polite and meticulous to details. We started our search in September 2021. Coastline Pavers was one of five companies from whom we requested and received an estimate on our job. Of the five, we chose Karen for the following reasons: 1) She is a great communicator: not pushy, very responsive, patient with us (remember, we started talking with her in September of 2021 and it's February 2022 as I write this!) 2) Her suggestions for our project were well thought out and helpful. For example, she addressed the drainage issue we had and proposed a great solution (channel drain, drain lines, down spout tie ins and pop-up drain). We are looking forward to no more flooding of our garage when it rains. 3) Her estimate was very detailed, clear and competitive. We went through a number of versions, as we changed the scope a few times. The turnaround time between versions was so quick! 4) She coordinated with and communicated well with other contractors/suppliers that we were having do work. At this point we chose Karen and the next steps went just as smoothly. We never once felt "abandoned" and she never let up on the gas. She saw us through from beginning to end! 1) Once we signed/agreed upon the estimate, she had paver samples delivered to our home the next day. 2) She let us know on a Wednesday that another job had been delayed because of an HOA issue, and if we had our pavers picked out, her team could start the job that Friday. She made it very clear that if we weren't comfortable with accelerating the timeline, that it wasn't an issue. 3) She met with us on Thursday morning and worked through the paver choices with us, allaying certain concerns about the particular color choices we made. 4) The job started on Friday!
