On our most recent visit, however, it was the service that was horrible. We didn't get the server that we often have, but we were willing to give a different server a chance. She. Was. Horrible. It took more than 15 minutes to get our soup and salad! My husband had to flag down the hostess to ask for a refill on my water, TWICE. The server never asked if I would like a refill and my meal was buffalo chicken!! As a matter of fact she never asked me anything, only my husband. "How's your meal?". "Would you like another drink (twice)?". "Do you need a carry out container?". All directed at only him. Then, to top it all off, she didn't come back to the table for a solid 10 minutes once we got our containers. She had us, one table that needed their order taken and a third table that was still looking at menus and she was flustered. Once we finally did see her she asked if we wanted anything else, again speaking directly to my husband! He said "Just the check, please." And here comes the best part, we watched her get drinks for her third table, take orders at the second table and walk by us at least six times. We waited nearly 15 minutes for her to bring the check. It was ridiculous. As I said, the food was good, at best. The service horrendous. Usually the food is nothing to write home about but the service is good. This visit was just BAD. We live less than a mile from this restaurant and still only go 2-3 times a year. That number will go down even more now.

We are not local, we are literally traveling through town to head south back to our home in NC after a 3 week road trip to Maine. We don't know the area at all , so we used Yelp to help find a place to eat a very late lunch. Nothing within an hour of here had great reviews and the ones that had okay reviews all seemed sketchy when we pulled into their parking lots. We then found this place. Yelp claimed it was open until 5. Google said 6. We arrived and saw 2 people sitting inside. I asked the cashier in the restaurant because the sign on the door said they close at 4 and it was 3:45. She said we could still eat. I even asked if she needed us to take it to go, she said no, it would be fine. We felt super uncomfortable the whole time. The young blond hair 20(ish) year old gentleman was very friendly with us. He was also helping the older women sitting by us that were wrapping things up. He gets 5 stars from us, he was fantastic. The young ladies that were working, and there were maybe 4 or 5 of them coming in and out of the kitchen and such, gave a bad vibe to a place that is probably usually really cool. They all acted frustrated and irritated with us. One girl mumbled something to the young gentleman about what we ordered like it was a hassle, but he quickly responded that our Caesar salad and panini were easy peasy and he could go make them. I'm not upset, however, a little irritated because I do understand we went in at closing, but I asked if it was okay to still order, and even told the girl it was not a big deal if they were closing and we could not order because we are typically not the people who do this. She said it was okay, so if those employees were to be irritated with anyone, it should be the girl who told us it was okay to order. Final thoughts, food was great, just don't arrive within 15-20 minutes before closing otherwise you might get glares, feel super uncomfortable, and have to eat fast like we did.

Stood up to the expectation of a wrap from the diner. Wrap was fresh with a lot of chicken, lettuce and tomatoes. Fries were crispy outside lovely soft inside. I didn't care for the slaw, but might be my taste buds. Desserts are available but we did pass on them. Parking lot is spacious enough, staff were pretty nice for being so close to closing and food was good.

Yes, they make their own donuts here, and that's enough reason to stop in, take out, or worship at the front door. We got our donuts to go after the meal...The coffee was GREAT. Too often, coffee, which should be the opening star of a diner experience, can be flavorless, browned water. Here it was good. Bold as I needed it to be, and the perfect foundation for the rest of the meal. My next go-to if they have it brunch experience is biscuits. They have them...you can get a biscuit on its own or, heck, go for a mini biscuit basket! I live for a biscuit-forward establishment. The Full Breakfast (submitting biscuit or potatoes for the meat) would have been my choice, but I decided to roll my own and ended up with a biscuit, fruit cup, and side of Hash Browns. The biscuit was good, large, and perfect with butter and honey. They make the hash browns to order - large hash brown patties - and with 2 different orders of them at the table, one was overcooked, too brown, and not impressive...but the other was perfect and delicious...bordering on potato pancake territory in presentation and flavor. Our server was fantastic...we had a large party encompassing 3 different tables in the middle of a Sunday morning (On Easter no less), which is, of course, the busiest time of the week. She was friendly, enthusiastic, and never made us feel rushed. If I found myself in the Hudson Valley again, Gracie's would be a definite destination for me.

I hate to leave a harsh review but I see others have had the exact same complaints and this isn't my first bad experience here. I had to go to the kitchen after about 45 minutes and they said, oh, it is right here and brought out the bread/ biscuits app someone had asked for. Bread = 45 minutes. The rest of the entrees then trickled out slowly one by one ensuring half the table were done eating before the last salad finally arrived. We had assumed our server's shift had ended because I never saw her again in the restaurant until I went up to get the check form the cashier. She thenpopped out from somewhere to take over printing out my check. I suspect we were auto-gratuitied looking back but she never mentioned it. I failed to check and was just dying to get out of there It seemed like there were lots of staff but where are they and what are they doing?? . People at tables were just rubbernecking around looking for someone. No one was on the floor. No one was out in the tables. No one was watching food, timing, drinks, turning the tables, etc. It was busy when we arrived but almost empty by the time we left. We were there for over 2 hours. I wonder if there are systems in place that were created out of inexperience and are now the sunk cost way of running things. Are there sections? Does the hostess know how to manage pacing? Does the server understand timing and to check the tables? I don't mean to sound pedantic, I just don't think there are people here who understand that the job is to manage the flow, "but was it busy?" Yes, it is supposed to be. If you cannot serve someone, you need to wait to seat them. If you can't handle the tables, close a section. Just filling tables and figuring it out is unfair to diners. Thank god you can go to the front to get your check or we might still be there. :( No owner response needed
