Visited July 17th..see my receipt…read more Really cute shop in Old Sacramento! I had researched them before going in because I was looking for Tuscan herb olive oil and a butter flavored olive oil and they had both! I love to cook and i like to use different oils in my cooking. This is very similar to the Olive Groove in Grass Valley that also carries great olive oils and balsamic vinegars. This place offers free tastings of oils and balsamic vinegar ( you help yourself with disposable containers) and small pieces of bread for dipping. The young lady working was very helpful and gave me suggestions of different oils to utilize. They also carry some salts and jams by the register. They also have coffee available. I am glad I restocked with some yummy olive oils!

We ended up purchasing the butter flavor olive oil as something that I chose to start putting into my morning cup of coffee. Definitely has that hint of butter flavoring that's for sure. Great pricing here as well too. Nice well kept storefront and inside. Small inside, so be careful if there are numerous people as you don't want to be bumping into everyone or into the merchandise. But we will for sure. Be paying a visit again here.

Every time…read morewe visit Calivirgin Winery in Lodi, we always hope Rachelle is there--and that alone says a lot. She has a way of making each visit feel special without trying too hard. She's welcoming, genuine, and incredibly knowledgeable, but never overwhelming. Instead, she creates a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer and come back again. What really sets her apart is her consistency. It's not just one great visit--every time we've been there, she's gone above and beyond with the same positive energy and attention to detail. Because of her, this winery has become our go-to spot. I even celebrated my 50th birthday here, and it was such a memorable experience. All of my guests couldn't stop talking about how amazing Rachelle was--everyone felt taken care of, comfortable, and truly impressed with the service. The winery itself is beautiful, accommodating, and perfect for gatherings, which made the celebration even better. On top of that, the entire team at Calivirgin is fantastic. Everyone we've interacted with has been friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming, which really adds to the overall experience. The wine is excellent, the setting is great, and the people are what truly make this place stand out for us. We'll absolutely keep coming back, and a big reason for that is Rachelle.

Last weekend on a trip to Sacramento, I finally had a chance to stop by their Olive Mill and Winery. There is a nice sparking clean outdoor patio with picnic tables within a few steps from the olive oil grove but it was a bit hot that day so we opted to sit inside. In addition to the olive oil tasting set, there were some brunch items such as a crostini and salad as well as a Mediterranean plate with hummus. We opted for the crostini, olive oil tasting and a cappuccino. The jalapeño olive oil was unique and flavorful enough that we bought a couple bottles of it to take home. The pear vinaigrette was thick and tangy. The waitresses were friendly and helpful when we had a couple questions about the dishes. The shelves in the shop area is full of flavored olive oils and vinaigrette as well as ceramic and a whole slew of items for serving charcuterie. If you are a fan of olive oil and are planning on a trip up to Sacramento or Lake Tahoe, would definitely recommend stopping by to check out Calivirgin.

Getting here was pretty simple except for that turn on Star street - you should really be paying attention. Anyway, upon entering the store I was not sure if it was an office or an actual business but getting past the huge wooden door, I was greeted by a friendly worker and a vast array of selections. These selections included honey, olive oil, vinegar, syrups, mustard just to name a few. The worker, Reva (forgive me if I misspelled that), was attentive and kind. There were samples of specific popular flavors that I asked for and she was not only quick to get the samples, she was happy to help. She also is very knowledgeable when it came to upcoming sales and events that this place would have. I was happy to not only speak to her because she's nice, but she had a good understanding of what was popular, as well as any information that the company could give. I picked up a few items including the lavender infused local honey, honey mustard, and a little bag for my wife. This place is legit! If you're looking for wonderful accents to your kitchen or your dinner table or if you are going to go and visit friends for a little potluck and have no idea what to take, this is a place to visit. The whole place is bright so you can see everything clearly and all my questions were answered regarding gifting as well as pricing. If you are in the area, or if you are a local and have never heard of this place, shoot on over and give them a try. I think you will be happy that you did!

I recall on my first visit (many years ago), they were selling olive oil and tastings only. Fast forward to present day, they have expanded to include wine tastings, and selling balsamic vinegars, wines, honey, beef jerky, and nuts. All local grown from Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation land. Very cool. They also sell kitchen and giftable items; and serve food made to order and also offering prepackaged to go. The staff are always so kind and helpful. The building and brewing facility is a beautiful architectural design. Even the outside landscaping and patio area are thoughtfully designed. The views are gorgeous overlooking the adjoining almond and olive orchards, and the Valley. The kind of scenery they put in sappy Hallmark movie backdrops. So darn lucky to live within driving distance. I have not tasted wine here before. But have tasted their olive oils and vinegars. Mmm. Actually we picked up some bottles since they had a sale and marked down some bottles from the prior year varieties. My favorite flavors of SH olive oil are Arbequina (classic EVOO) and Frantoio (this one has nutty, herby flavors with slight pepperiness). It's right off Route 16 and super close to the Cache Creek casino resort which is also a Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation venture. So if you happen to be at the casino, drive less than five minute to the tasting room. Plus if you need a rest stop for a restroom, Seka Hills tasting room has real nice ones.

I'm from LA but have family in Sacramento, I saw on their website/ alongside google they were located in Lodi and that they were open. I decided to give them a call because of the long drive, the lady I spoke to said they had a private event the day I called and asked if I come over Monday or Tuesday which was really preferred for her. I agreed and went on Tuesday. When I arrived the place was very hard to locate. There is no sign or anything, it seems to be a private house. I called the number provided on their website and spoke to the lady again and she said they aren't open to the public and that they only accept cash and wanted me to leave it under the mat. Then why tell me to come Tuesday and that it was preferred to you?? She then said she would give me a call back to let me know if anyone else is there to help me. She never called me back, I gave her a few calls trying to reach her and it seems like she blocked me or is refusing to answer my calls Is that how you treat costumers? I normally don't write reviews but this was the worse experience I've had. I drove 45 mins plus for nothing and just to gain this experience. Do not tell your costumers to come on a day where you aren't even present and then GHOST them. You lost my business along side multiple family members and friends. I hope you fix this problem and fix your website so it doesn't give FALSE information to future costumers. Please fix yourselves and this problem.

I recently enjoyed my first (and definitely not my last) dining experience at the HIVE tasting room and kitchen in Woodland, CA. I enjoyed it; the food was delicious and customer service on point. I went there with the intent of mead wine tasting but ended up not since I had driving duties. [Fun fact: mead wine has less alcohol content than grape wine.] Instead I ordered lunch and washed it down with their honey ice tea. The iced tea had a prominent honey taste. Hubs luved his, but my tastebuds were confused. Odd though because I luv honey and iced tea. We also ordered a Ruben sandwich $22 and an order of waffles. The sandwich was classic with the familiar flavors. Nice quality cut of meat, thinly shaved. The waffles $17 were topped with blueberries, slivered almonds, and orange blossom whipped ricotta cream which I asked for on the side. The ricotta cream was divine. The waffles tasted pretty darn good. However the pricing for both entrees seemed high for the serving size. But this is a type of place where folks can eat and linger to enjoy the grounds, atmosphere, and each other's company without anyone rushing you out.
