10/10 no notes! Cocha is the truth! Their drinks are high quality and absolutely delicious!! The only downside is the price of course, $10 but they are honestly so addicting! I tried the season drink "Kumori No Mai" and it was fantastic! I usually try a strawberry flavor matcha drink so I was excited to venture out and try something different at Cocoa. The Kumori drink has a miso caramel profile and I topped with a cream cloud. The flavors complement each other so well! I loved how the sweetness of the drink did not overpower the drink and I was still able to appreciate the rich, roasted match flavor. The baristas were all super nice and there's plenty of parking as well. I also love how Cocha keeps the excitement with pop ups, desert pairings and seasonal beverages. I will definitely be back to try more of their menu!
Slowly making my way through their menu :) I wanted to get their Miso Caramel Einspanner again but they didn't have it today even though I came at lunch time, so I tried the Pistachio Butter Matcha. The pistachio cream top was so good and creamy. I loved the pistachio crumbs they had on top since it added a little crunch to the drink. The drink overall was on the sweeter side, and the matcha flavor got overpowered a little bit. Overall it was still a good drink, but I like their Duo Matcha or the Miso Caramel one better. They added more chairs for you to sit at, and completely removed the nail desk they used to have outside. They get so packed everytime so the wait time takes a while, but everyone is very chill :)
I was on the hunt for a good matcha spot since moving to Houston from CA. Came to try out this place and was pleasantly surprised. It's located inside a nail salon, so it was a bit confusing to find since they don't have an obvious sign. The seating is limited, but enough for the amount of space they have. Nicely decorated and was clean/kept. The baristas were nice and helpful in recommending what I should order. I ended up getting the Duo Matcha. It was aesthetic and refreshing. The only downside was the cost! I spent about $10 for this cup of matcha, so definitely on the pricier side. Because of that, I would come here again but only once in awhile as a treat.
Top 3 matcha spot is easily CŌCHA. Situated in an unassuming strip of stores inside a nail salon, CŌCHA does matcha correctly- hand-whisked, high quality matcha with a variety of milks, flavors and soft tops. You can choose your sweetness, preparation and toppings. I haven't had a drink here I didn't like. Definitely check their socials for hours of operations. Right now their main location is closed for renovations but they are on pop up off of west Alabama. I'll be back soon!
I think they have the best diversified matcha menu thus far, I also feel like they offer coffee options but mainly matcha. where as, most places offer mostly coffee, and some matcha. other matcha places also rely heavily on syrups and sweet drinks, where their main focus is matcha and the liquid portions are smaller which I really like. I may say this is the best matcha shop in houston honestly. my biggest concern was that it would smell like a nail shop, but it doesn't. they executed this concept very well. there's tons of small seating inside, but ofc we are going to crowd the door entry area. I got lychee bloom, they do a lychee milk tea, and for the jasmine, a jasmine milk tea topped with matcha. I think they explain the drinks very well when you get there. im still trying out different drinks but, I am sooo close to finding "the one" I have enjoyed duo matcha, that specialty one with toffee and cream, lychee bloom, and matcha jasmine. but my recent one was Isuzu, latte, sweetened with agave 50% sweet. I haven't had one I hated, b=however there was one that came close, which was pistachio, it had a genuine pistachio connection, but I would add a gram of matcha extra bc the pistachio literally took over. other than that, I am coming back weekly to try different drinks. good rec!
There's a reason this place gets so much hype. The matcha shop is located in what I think used to be a nail salon. Parking can get a bit crowded, and I waited around 20 minutes for my drinks. As someone who usually doesn't enjoy the grassy taste of matcha, this place was still incredibly good. The matcha flavor was rich and smooth with barely any sugar, the ice ratio was perfect, and the texture was unbelievably creamy. I've honestly never had a matcha this creamy before. Overall, it was definitely worth the $10/drink, and I'm already looking forward to coming back.
Houston's matcha pop up scene has definitely expanded the last few years. I wanted to try the pistachio butter matcha but they were out that day, so I got the iced hojicha latte instead. The iced hojicha was good. The employees were friendly enough. There's some seating inside, but not really tables to study at. It's more a catch up with friends or get drinks to go place rather than a study spot. It wasn't the easiest to find as there was no sign for Cocha outside, and it was located where the nail shop sign is (Tulipo Nails and Spa).
I got the Isuzu traditional latte and it was decent with a good matcha taste. I wish the price reflected the size of the cup though as it was significantly smaller than what I was expecting. The establishment is inside a nail salon so it may be confusing as the outside does not say Cocha. The space is cozy and super aesthetic; however, there was limited seating so it felt more like a to-go vibe. Our baristas made our drinks quickly after placing our orders and were helpful with the questions we had.
Literally 1000/10!!!! The matcha flavor is so delicious and they use plenty of powder that you're tasting the matcha even over the milk & flavors added. The kumori is SO good, different but so delicious. We loved it so much that we went back 2 days in a row! The service is great, extremely fast for not batching making matcha!!! They are visibly whisking the matcha fresh for every single drink. It's a very cute vibe inside & always busy but quick! Don't let a line deter you because it is worth it!! Will be back!
TO GO, not really a sit down spot. There's a couple of small tables however not the most comfortable lounging situation. Located in TULIPO NAIL SPA this tucked away matcha spot is definitely a must try. PRICING WISE think of pop up matcha spots like Enso & Tomo. A cup will run about $10 but it's high quality tasting. I got the JASMINE MATCHA. Jasmine milk tea with a matcha cloud. Floral with a hint of earthiness & bitterness. I'm for sure coming back to try the coffee. Everything on the menu sounds amazing. I just so happen to be getting my lashes done with my girl who rents a room here. I believe there is also someone who does nails but appointments only.

Holy moly! I think this place has to be my favorite matcha place in HTX. The place is a bit hard to find. It's located on the side of the building with an order window. I don't think there was an inside. The place is right next to waffle bus. There were some seating outdoor as well. I got two drinks for about $20. I tried the lychee bloom matcha and that tasted different. Aesthetically, it was cute it had some pieces of lychee on a stick just like you would see on a cocktail. The flavor is what you would expect from the name. It tasted like you guessed it lychee but subtly and then there was a hint of a floral flavor. You still get the rich creamy smoothness of the matcha. The matcha was well crafted and tasted authentic. The other drink I had was the duo matcha. Out of the two this was my favorite. The highlight of the drink was the smoothness and creaminess. I don't feel like this drink was even too sweet, it tasted just right. Aesthetically, this one had a lady finger biscuit. Had a whipped creamy appearance. I enjoyed the matcha flavor in this one. read more

A top contender in the Houston matcha game. Saw lots of people raving about Cocha on social media and I had to try it out for myself. Entered Tulipo Nails & Spa expecting to be hit by nail salon smells with Cocha as a side setup, but instead I was hit with the pleasant aroma of matcha without a nail operation in sight, just a massive crowd all waiting for their matcha orders. Duo matcha 5/5 - matcha cloud was creamy, the latte portion didn't miss either Kinako matcha 5/5 - soybean cloud offered that nutty note, really pleasant and didn't distract from the underlying matcha itself Prices on the high side, but given the quality I tell myself it's okay to treat myself once in awhile. Will be back to try their other menu items! read more

Alright, maybe i should stop expecting LA level matcha outside of LA. I was excited by the green color and reviews from Cocha but the matcha was just alright. That plus the looooooooong wait and high price tag makes this matcha place a little lower on my list. read more

Cocha is a solid matcha place; tucked inside a nail salon! Glad I finally got a chance to try the drinks. Sad the pistachio butter matcha was sold out! Wasn't too busy so service was quick. Enjoyed both the oreo cheesecake matcha and yuzu tart matcha! Flavors don't overpower each other. I'll be back for more matcha. read more

Upon walking in, the store is full of people waiting for their orders. The layout of the inside was honestly a little strange and didn't make much sense. There was a couch against one wall and a bench against another then just a few stools and chairs scattered throughout. It didn't seem very cohesive and just felt like it was randomly thrown together. The guy manning the register thankfully let us know that it would be a 20 min wait so we knew what to expect. Around 4:30 pm on a Sunday, they were out of the yuzu tart matcha & lychee bloom matcha (bummer since that's what I originally came for). It smelled super fragrant inside and it was nice being able to get an up close view of the process of the staff prepping each drink. We got the kinako matcha & houjicha latte. The kinako matcha had a nutty and earthy taste that blended well with the richness of the matcha. The houjicha latte was light and slow roasted, done just right unlike other houjicha drinks I have tried. The quality of the matcha here is great, very authentic and reminds me of what we had in Japan. Would come back again but earlier on in the day so nothing runs out yet. read more
Cocha can be easy to miss. There's no signage outside but it's located inside a nail salon. The vibe inside is calm and relaxing. They even have a wall of different chawan bowls. I was immediately impressed when I saw their lineup of ceremonial grade matcha. They use Marukyu Koyamaen which is one of my favorite brands. Their menu not only has matcha but hojicha and coffee as well. They incorporate a lot of the classic Asian flavors I love like yuzu, lychee, and pandan. The prices are comparable to some of the other matcha popups out here in Houston. I opted for the yuzu tart matcha and it was absolutely delicious! The matcha was rich and creamy but then you get a nice citrus flavor from the yuzu at the end. I am happy to add Cocha to my lineup of go-to matcha spots in Houston now. Definitely worth stopping by! read more

This is located inside the nail salon. Once you walk right in you are steps away from the counter. In the back is the nail salon. Had I realized it was a shared space with a nail salon I could have planned better and gotten my nails done as well! Cute spot and festive for the Xmas season. Drinks are delicious! I enjoyed the hou coco creamy. If you like hojicha, milk, and coconut water then try this My sister got the yuzu tart matcha and boy this was tasty. Not sure what the crumbles were on top but it came together so well. I wouldn't say this is a place to sit, chat, and mingle for a long period of time. There are a few chairs but really they are good spots to sit while you wait for your order and take a few pictures. read more

Traditional isuzu matcha - 8.5/10 - Had a nutty flavor and was very strong so definitely for those who like grassy matcha Lychee bloom matcha - 8/10 - So creamy and the lychee flavor wasnt overpowering or overly sweet Salted coffee - 10/10 - Super creamy with a perfect amount of saltiness/sweetness, and coffee was strong Another day, another matcha/coffee bar to tryFound a cute hidden gem inside of a nail salon that specializes in both coffee and matcha. I liked both but their salted coffee was my favorite. I liked that they use good quality authentic matcha and know how to make it well. If youre in the area be sure to check them out! read more

Cocha was very good once we found it. It's tucked inside Tulipo nail spa. I ordered the matcha latte with the yuzu soft top. It was super smooth and perfectly balanced. Not too sweet. We will definitely return. read more

Great matcha shop! It's actually in a nail salon and matcha cafe in one. The aesthetic was so cute. They had a good amount of seating too. They had a good size menu of matcha, teas, and coffee. Their matcha was on the nuttier side in my opinion. They matcha foam was so good and mixed with the lychee/jasmine. The drinks were on the expensive side. Each being around $8-10. I recommend giving this place a try! read more

Delicious drinks, beautiful space, just don't come here if you're in a rush! They're tucked inside of Tulipo Nails & Spa & their parking lot seems to fill up quick since it's a shared lot. I came on a Thursday around 3pm & there were about 4-6 orders ahead of me. I ended up waiting 45 mins for two drinks... I ordered a banana coffee & my friend ordered their yuzu tart matcha. The banana cream top reminded me of banana flavored Laffy Taffy; it wasn't overly sweet but it did taste a smiiidge artificial. They use high quality matcha & you can tell. Perfect ratio of sweetness & earthy flavors. Prices for their drinks are around $8-$11 read more

My friend invited me to try out Cocha in Houston. It's nestled inside of a nail salon near the galleria and memorial area. They use ceremonial grade matcha and so create coffee, hojicha, and coco drinks. I got the duo matcha which comes topped with a lady finger. The matcha flavor itself was solid and pretty high quality but for the price I was expecting more from it. I also tried the pistachio butter matcha, lychee bloom matcha, and a hojicha cream cloud. The lychee bloom matcha was soo soo good but I just really liked the jasmine tea that they used as the base of the drink. They top it off with a matcha cloud and lychees. The hojicha cream cloud was also pretty good. It had a good roasted flavor that's very deep and more complex. Their drinks here are not bad and good quality but they are pretty expensive read more
Best matcha i've tried so far. Such a little hidden gem tucked inside a cute nail salon boutique. I got the Lychee Bloom Matcha and it was amazing. Super creamy matcha with refreshing lychee tea. perfectly balanced 10/10. Definitely coming back to try more. read more

The service was pretty good, and the ambiance was as well. I was asked pretty quickly if I knew what I wanted and also if I needed help. I was given advice and chose the Duo Matcha, and the outcome was good. The drink was priced pretty reasonable for the quality that was given. The drink cost $9.75 after taxes. It was really delicious--the Matcha was very high quality, unlike some other places I've bought a latte from. The color was a vibrant green, and it had a good umami flavor, slightly grassy yet semi sweet at the same time, but not overly sweet so that you couldn't taste the Matcha. The Matcha cloud was sweet but not overpowering, so it complemented the Matcha latte well. The only drawback was the ice in the latte. In my opinion, there was a little too much ice, so you need to drink it within the 1 hour mark, or it will dilute the drink quickly which will affect the taste. Also, just a tip (not a criticism of the place): make sure to take the cookie out as soon as possible and eat it on the side, because it will get soggy in the drink and separate, making the drink grainy from the cookie crumbs. Cocha was absolutely delicious and amazing. It is located in the Nail store so don't be confused when looking for the place! I got the lychee bloom matcha which was a lychee and jasmine tea as the base with a matcha cloud on top. This was absolutely incredible and was the perfect amount of sweetness. recommend especially if you don't want to get a latte! We also tried the Saigon coffee which was also delicious! read more
Great place to get Matcha in the Houston area! They have very friendly service and high-quality Matcha that they use! The flavors were on the milk here side, but the Matcha had a good taste to it. Overall, I highly recommend and will come back. read more
