I'm a big fan of Matcha Mia! My local coffee shop unfortunately started batching their matcha and no longer makes it fresh, which is such a bummer! So I've been on a quest trying different matcha drinks around the city. Matcha Mia is very bright and aesthetically pleasing - all pink everything! I've been to Matcha Mia twice and the drinks have been consistent both times! I most recently ordered the strawberry matcha and added a cold foam on top. The barista took their time and whisked the matcha perfectly so it didn't have that grainy, unpleasant taste. I was definitely able to appreciate the umami flavor and would definitely rate my drink a 10/10. The only critique I would say (which has nothing to do with the actual taste of the drink) has to do with the ergonomics of the straws. The straws are too short for the cups which creates a slight awkwardness when drinking and even a bit of a mess when trying to swirl/mix the drink. Nevertheless, I still really enjoy coming here and will definitely be back again!

Located in a fairly nondescript building near Montrose / Midtown. The inside is a lot of pink, but overwhelmingly cartoonish in a way. There's a bunch of drinks and actually some food option. We tried the matcha cloud, which had a milk option and ice level option. Unfortunately there was no sugar option and the drink was super sweet. It was an alright matcha drink that was on the sweet side and was missing some of the bitterness of the higher end ground matcha powder. It seemed like the kids liked the aesthetics and Instagram friendly nature of the interior but the drink was a bit overpriced and under flavored for those touting a more matcha heavy flavor.

Such a cute place! Oh how I just love pink and girly ambience! Me and my cousins came here to kill some time before dropping me off at the airport. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered from their little kiosk. I got the banana matcha latte and it was perfect. My cousin got coconut milk matcha and the other one got a skinny latte. We all enjoyed our drink and had fun taking pics at all the cute little area they had inside and outside.

This spot deserves more hype! While it is on the pricier side, the cups are much larger than other cafes, so the overall value is better. Perhaps offering smaller cup sizes for a lower price is something to consider, though! The barista asked us if we wanted matcha or coffee upon walking in to make the base for the drinks as quickly as possible, which was appreciated. We ordered the bluetiful and matcha mia cloud. Both drinks were extremely yummy! We both like less sugar in our drinks and forgot to ask for adjustments, but the drinks were a good level of sweetness anyways. We came on a Monday afternoon, so we were the only ones there. I can see how it could get crowded, there are about 6 tables. The volume of the music didn't bother me too much, but it is on the louder side. Bring noise cancelling headphones if you're here to work/study, and don't take any virtual meetings!

This place is sooo cute. Very girly pop energy. I literally drove past it and immediately made a u turn because I had to see what it was about. When you walk in, it is pink everywhere. Super aesthetic. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It was raining so I stayed inside, but the patio looked sooo cute too. Definitely a spot you'd want to hang outside on a nice day. They use ordering screens, which I normally don't love but I will say it's nice being able to scroll the full menu without feeling rushed by a cashier especially when its your first time somewhere. What threw me off was that when I walked in, no one greeted me or even looked my way. I guess they don't really have to with that setup...I'm still undecided on this style of service. I think I prefer a little human interaction even just a quick hi. I ordered the banana matcha because I've never tried matcha with banana syrup before. Of course it ended up being the most expensive thing on the menu, I think it was around $11. They made it super fast though, it was in my hands within like three minutes. The matcha itself was just okay. The color was beautiful, very vibrant green, but the flavor didn't hit for me. I like a stronger matcha taste and this one felt kind of watery. Even the banana flavor was pretty subtle. You could only taste a hint of it. Overall, I loved the vibe and the whole concept. It's definitely a cute spot but for me the actual drink just didn't live up to the aesthetic.

It was my first time here, so I ordered the Matcha " beautiful" drink. The Cashier asked if she should fill the cup all the way with milk and I said, "However you make it? I've never been here before?" It tasted weak, probably as a result, but beyond that it is customary to inform the customer if you're charging them extra for something. I was surprised to see I was charged an extra dollar for the milk she said I should do. The drink was weak, but maybe as a result of the extra milk she recommended I add.

Great matcha, but feels like a cash grab. Expect a $10 base price for a drink, keep in mind any customization will be a $1 up charge. Less ice ? $1 for example. The matcha itself was nice and good quality however, $20 for two drinks filled with ice is a rip off. The decoration is nice, tables and chairs are meh, not very cozy. You order at a tablet so customer service is just how well they are at pronouncing your name. It didn't really give a cozy feel, more like pre packaged hype money making machine. Parking is easy, and the drink looks great on camera if that matters to you. One and done for me, much better ways and places to spend $20 imo...

2% Milk strawberry matcha with cold foam. Great drink refreshing with a nice sturdy cup and cute heart drink stopper. I enjoy a delicious matcha when I want something cold and out and about, this one hit the spot. Glad I was able to stop by and try. The music is also good

If you want a good matcha, this place does have good variety of flavors and good quality matcha! I wouldn't say this place is worth the prices though... almost $10 for the cheapest matcha on the menu! Only once size available, and they will charge you for light ice, I've never been charged at any place for light ice before. It does have a cute vibe inside and a nice small area to sit outside as well.

Great place to get Matcha in Houston! A very clean and new spot with friendly service. I highly recommend their Matcha cloud! Overall highly recommend and would come back.

The atmosphere was really cute, but it was kind of a lot because the building is kind of small so there's a lot of people inside and the music is just a little loud. I got the coconut cream Matcha with 2% milk and cold foam and it's really good. The coconut cream is a little bit strong, but it's still really good in my opinion. The price of mine and my girlfriends was $20 and she got the classic Matcha with 2% milk, vanilla syrup and cold foam but they didn't give her cold foam unfortunately. The parking lot was a little small and it's hard to get out of there because there's so many cars and it's just a little bit busy and the workers are nice but we took our order on an iPad so I can't really give too much information on the service, but everyone seemed really nice.

I love this place. Well done and well prepared matcha and bites. Wonderful addition to the neighborhood for sure. My photo is of empty containers because it was quite good. Give it a try if you love matcha or want to grab a delightful healthy bite. I enjoyed the Wellness Matcha with a turkey avocado sandwich on sourdough. Lovely!

First time at matcha Mia! I got the matcha Mia cloud, and the quality was great, especially since I've been to a lot of other matcha places. The service was fast and easy using the front screens. The location was easily accessible, colorful, and spacious, I spent a good amount of hours studying here since it was a clean spot! Will be back again for probably the same drink.

Switching her words back and forth and not believing what we had said. I asked how did we grab our stuff if I still have the device to notify when our food is ready. - Third she completely stopped talking to us and went to go help at other customers. I told her we want our money back and she said, "well I'm not going to refund for the drinks you had". Ma'am, that's not how you run a business. Just admit you messed up and take ownership of your mistakes to help a customer out. - Fourth she mentioned that other tickets have been lost today and other foods have been stolen before. This just shows how disorganized this placed is. We were able to ask for our money back but it was a battle about it. I was disappointed because we wanted to support your business but at this service? Heck no! Do not come here. And from reading other reviews now we did not miss on the food.

Before their recent expansions to Austin, it all began here in Rice Village exactly 15 years ago. The vibes are contemporary and casual, with the kind of space that fits for just about any scenario. Whether it's a solo meal, a lunch date, or a group led affair, the experience is almost always an excellent one. Start by ordering at the counter and find a seat where the food will brought directly to the table. So much of their variety caters to all sorts of dietary restrictions from vegan to gluten free to nut free. Their spicy crispy brussels sprouts ($10) are a nice starter, as is the squash "onion" rings ($12). The local power bowl ($16) is a classic and I've always enjoyed the brown rice and quinoa combo. Their chicken "posolé" is solid, and I love the large hominy bits along with the clear but green tint of a broth. The chicken shawarma bowl ($20) is an interesting mix that includes pickled beets and strawberries, along with their market cheddar burger ($17) and fabulous twice cooked fries. The carrot cupcake is strangely addicting, and I think their gluten free brownie is a bit of a sleeper. Some of their items didn't jive with me previously, such as an underwhelming cashew queso ($9), a semi-laughable Vietnamese steak bowl ($22), and their semi-gringo version of a banh mi ($15). It's not that these items are bad per se, but they definitely don't live up to the same standard that I feel their other dishes do best. Where they hit the biggest home run is their customer service. Everyone working behind the counter does their best to deliver and they almost always do by staying on top of refills, cleanups, and customer greets. I've always enjoyed my experiences here and look forward to every visit.
