    iced Cereal Milk Latte
    Anna S.

I decided to try Siphon to lock in for my midterm. Because it was a Tuesday evening, I was able to find parking and a place to sit, but I can imagine that space can get tight on busier days. Service was fast, and I enjoyed their kiosk option. I ordered an iced Cereal Milk latte, with oat milk and half decaf, since (1) it was 5 pm, and (2) I'm a bit sensitive to caffeine and didn't want to keep myself awake at midnight... my drink was decent, and I loved the creamy consistency of it. The iced Cereal Milk latte wasn't sweet, so I added some Splenda sweetener, which is wild to do as someone who doesn't have much of a sweet tooth! However, I'm fine with the subtle sweetness since adding sugar is easier than taking away sugar. The taste of coffee was subtle, but granted, this is because I ordered half decaf; also, there was not much of a cereal milk flavor, and it tasted like your average iced latte, so nothing too special, truthfully. However, Siphon is still a lovely cafe near my place, so I would return!

Great lattes! Slightly inconsistent but definitely fixable. Vibe here is solid. Come early or battle it out for a seat! This is a nice one!

I genuinely enjoyed this place so much. I got the snickerdoodle latte and it was so buss. My friend got the chai latte and it was so good, if you don't like coffee then I definitely recommend that! The Cereal Milk was okay. LOVE THE STUDY ATMOSPHERE. Genuinely, what a great place to be at.

Absolutely love this cafe. I've come here a few times and their coffee is consistently delicious. I've have not yet tried the actual food but I've grabbed some pastries that are great. Staff is always friendly! There is a good amount of of seating inside and outside. There's good wifi and enough quietness to study or work from there, but also chill enough to just have a good hang out with others. They have a few items like chess on the piano near the restroom. Parking can be tricky as the lot fills up quick but there's usually street parking available. Will absolutely come back!

Don't know why I've never been here, but it might be my new favorite place to study or grab coffee! My friend and I had some modules to finish for our licensure renewal and wanted to find a cool place to do them. After a little search, we decided on this place! Parking is good because it has a lot. We came at the perfect time because it wasn't too packed yet. But after we actually sat down, people started to pour in! I got the snickerdoodle latte and kolaches and my friend got a regular latte! Service was super good and they were very friendly! The lattes were good, not too sweet and the kolaches were cute too! I really like the vibe of the coffee shop and the bustling energy is good for working on things. Definitely will be coming back here!

I've been wanting to check this place out for a while. Finally made it in and ordered their signature siphon coffee and a taco with bacon and chorizo. Let's talk food: The taco was good. Generous portion but for $5 (plus $1.75 extra for bacon and chorizo), it felt a bit steep. Same with the coffee. The siphon was $11 a cup. That's $22 total for just me. A bit pricey for what it was. Taste-wise? Not bad. Nothing mind blowing, but solid. The siphon prep was cool to watch, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Same with the tacos. Now the space itself? Beautiful. Great ambience, lots of people hanging out, and definitely a good vibe overall. My quick breakdown: Ambience: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Pricing: 2/5 Would I come back? Maybe to try their other coffee options. But as far as the siphon experience? Glad I tried it, don't need to do it again.

The coffee is a bit strong for me, and parking can be an issue. However I do love visiting and just chilling out. They have a pretty good menu for food as well, something that's not always reliable at coffee shops, and everything always looks delicious. There's ample seating, and the WiFi is strong. I see plenty of folks working from here.

    Rosemel Latte and Chicken Empanada

Came here to do some remote work with a friend. There's a good amount of seating inside but it was quite packed on a Thursday afternoon. We decided to sit at the outside booths. I ordered a rosemel latte and a chicken empanada. The latte was quite sweet and caramel heavy, I did not detect much rose or cardamom flavor. The empanada was alright, the crust was flaky and buttery while the inside was generously stuffed with chicken. It was a nice little snack to keep me satiated. I did like how there was a decent sized parking lot.

Came during our lunch break and we really enjoyed it! I really liked the snickerdoodle latte it was plenty sweet if you like sweet drinks. I couldn't really taste any coffee really. The honey bee was also good with a good cinnamon flavor. My coworker said they really felt the coffee. They also tried the empanadas and they were really good and had lots of flavor. Parking was a bit crowded and we parked on the side street. Inside is really nice and cozy. I like the feel they have in there. There are a lot of seats to study, but I feel like the seats are a bit tight and crowded. They also have a cute seating area outside. The servers were nice and friendly.

The eggs in this taco were cooked to death. They were so rubbery and chewy that I could barely eat the taco, but I was starving so I forced a little more than halfway. So frustrating. These tacos are too expensive to be this awful. Happened yesterday 8.30.25 around 10 am. Still mad about it.

Came to Siphon Coffee because I was looking for a coffee shop in the area where I could get some work done for a couple of hours, and this place had a lot of seating, both inside and outside, but it was also PACKED! I had to sit outside, which was a very nice and cute area with comfy booth seats. My coffee and empanada was ready within 2-3 minutes of sitting! I ordered one of their holiday/seasonal drinks for Valentine's day, called Cupid Love (can't remember what flavor it was exactly, but I believe it had rose!). The latte was fairly decent, on the sweeter side but could have had a stronger coffee taste. The latte set was really cute too! I also got a beef empanada, which was very flaky and flavorful, but a bit hard to eat because it was really soft and fell apart -- would recommend using a fork next time!

Came here on a random Thursday and it wasn't quite busy, we ordered the Snickerdoodle latte and the Baristas choice, I love how they have multiple milk options and they make sure to ask before making your drink. With the baristas choice they ask you a couple questions before they make your drink and I really enjoyed it! The Snickerdoodle latte was on the sweeter side but it was still very enjoyable. The outside seating area was very nice and it wrapped around one side of the building. They have wifi if you want to come around and study and do homework as well, plenty of tables to set up which I think was very convenient!

Awesome Coffee! Siphon coffee is a process that creates smooth, hot coffee. We didn't try any food, but they offer much more than the average coffee shop! Indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of relaxing spaces. Their baked goods are discounted after 5... Back to the coffee. The water is heated to boiling. Then the water is boiled up, coffee added to steep for 150 seconds. After that the heat is turned off and the coffee is pulled back down. Be careful not to sit close when they add the top piece when the water is hot, it can slash!

Our friend booked a reservation and was able to add a fourth person without any issues. It's on Westheimer where all the restaurants and shops are, so it's pretty busy. One of our friends who arrived early got to switch us to a booth since we'd have a few plates to share for the four of us. My friend and I shared the NA red sangria. I liked that there was a NA option for that, and you can choose either red or white. We ordered a pitcher since we were sharing. It was delicious and refreshing. I think I had about 3 wine glasses of it. Our group shared the red fish à la plancha, patatas bravas, spinach frittata, olive oil pancakes and bacon-wrapped dates. Some of the dishes were bigger than others. Tapas is meant to be small plates, and they were, but it's a little overpriced. For example, the red fish was $15.50 for maybe 2 oz of fish. The stack of olive oil pancakes were small and thin for $8.50. If you're sharing, it's not that much food. I was going to order another personal stack of olive oil pancakes because that cinnamon butter was so good! I decided not to after I let all of what we ordered and drank settle for a bit after. The valdeon whipped blue cheese under the bacon-wrapped dates didn't taste very good and seemed grainy to me. It was my least favorite. The standouts for me were the olive oil pancakes, spinach frittata that was actually loaded with more veggies and bell peppers and the patatas bravas which was piled with potatoes topped with mayo that melted down and looked almost like melted cheese on top. It's a fun place for friends to gather or a cute date spot. You may or may not be hungry after depending what you order. There are larger plates/entrees like paella and branzino to share.

I experienced this side of the business during the early phase of the Covid pandemic back in 2020. At the time, during lockdown, going to a wine bar or wine shop just wasn't top of mind. However, I had researched a Cabernet Franc (red wine) called Nicolas Reau Enlèvement Demandé Anjou [Vintage year: 2017]. Reau is kind of a rebel working in the Loire Valley of France who is interested in producing organic, biodynamic wines that are essentially closer to nature and processed differently--more artisanal, so to speak. I read about this wine and wanted to find a bottle locally, which wasn't an easy task as I recall. This is where Vinology comes in. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but had to have a bottle of this excellent wine. Like many people, I preferred to stay indoors during the early part of the pandemic and was kind of nervous about going out. When I called Vinology, I expressed my dilemma, and the guy on the other end of the phone came up with a great solution. He offered to deliver the bottle of wine I purchased to my address. I actually met him at the edge of the garage entrance to where I live. This was great, exceptional above and beyond service. I've had my fair share of Paulie's but never had the chance to come to Camerata...until now. I had been missing out for so long! We journeyed from white to red wines throughout the night. We started out with the Babylonstoren, a chenin blanc from South Africa. We then moved into pink (rose) with the Ana Beirut - a blend of cab sauv, syrah, and tempranillo grapes with a bit of skin contact to give the wine the pink color. Lastly we ordered the Guelbenzu - a red blend of tempranillo, cab sauv, syrah, and graciano. This full-bodied red was the absolute fan favorite of the table. Food options are on the light side: meat & cheese boards, bread, and small bites. We started out with the warm bread - while it's normally served with butter, there's an option to switch that out with olive oil & herbs which is what we did. We then went for the meat & cheese platter. We couldn't decide on which meats or cheeses, so we did the option of ordering all 8! This came with 4 delicious meats and 4 tasty cheeses (from Houston Dairymaids), also with crispy fava beans, olives, pickles, and bread. This was a good amount for our group of 4 to share. Elena was our server and she was absolutely OUTSTANDING. She vibed with us throughout the night and made sure that we were well-taken care of. I loved her energy along with her vast knowledge of wines. We got plenty of good recommendations from her during our time there. I'm super sad that Houston will be losing this gem permanently at the end of the year (and even more sad that I only discovered it in the last month of its existence). While I know that owner Paulie won't be moving this venture to a new spot, I do hope a descendant of Camerata manifests itself somewhere in Houston in the coming years.

It's part of the Paulie's Restaurant brands, but completely separate from the restaurant from what I could tell. Parking is a bit difficult, but after a bit of circling we were able to find a spot and make our way in what looked like the back entrance. It was very low key, and despite the sign, the door seemed almost hidden in that back little corner. The staff seemed to have a bit of a hipster vibe-- not unexpected given the Montrose area-- but were very friendly. They offered suggestions, but let us go with what we wanted to try. There's a food menu along with the drinks, but we were heading to the restaurant next door, so we passed on grabbing food. We ended up going with a couple of glasses of red and a couple of the specialty chocolates. My wife loved her salted caramel chocolate. I enjoyed my peppermint chocolate. For the glasses of wine, I've got better at home for bottles the same price as those glasses. My wife really enjoyed the vibe, but even if this place wasn't about to close down, I'm not sure I'd be coming back here often. It's just too hard to park.

It was and still is the perfect place to "WINE"-down and grab an delicious appetizer. Perfect to visit if solo, on a date, or with friends or colleagues after work. This quaint lounge setting offers bar seating, high top tables, lounge and booth seating, as well as patio seating overlooking a the beautiful tree-lined street. They also offer a separate room to host meetings or parties. Appetizers are delicious - I ordered their fried pickles and spinach dip. Just enough to hit the spot. For my cocktail, I selected the a classic apple martini (I know, "who still drinks those still?" Lol...I do...nothing wrong with a classic dahling). Great times and worth the check out. Right "upstairs" from Hungry's, this place is a great spot to chill. Self parking is limited, however they do offer valet. No street parking. Enjoy!

The service stood out right away, very welcoming and friendly, and the food came out extremely fast, which was a plus. As for the food, it was decent overall. The wings had good flavor, but the ranch was a bit watery and could definitely use more seasoning. The onion rings were also good, just needed a little extra seasoning to really bring them up a notch. Overall, it's a solid spot for happy hour with good prices, generous portions, and great service.
