Drove over for lunch from Garland today. Was well worth the drive! We each had the 2 fillet lunch plate. 2 very nice fillets, french fries, hush puppies, beans, coleslaw, and green tomato relish. So much good. We brought 2 fillets home. Also bought a quart of the green tomato relish to bring home. Best catfish we have had in a good while. read more

Catfish was dry and tough. Worse I ever had. Fried okra taste like it was fried 2 days ago tough and had to spit it out. Absolutely the worse catfish dinner I've ever had . A waste of my $11.90 read more

While this place won't win any awards for decor or ambience, the food is FANTASTIC! I had the fried chicken, two of us had the chicken tenders, and another had the meatloaf. Cochran's is a really good restaurant. It's cafeteria style on most item's, but they will cook up just about anything fresh for you also. I Love their cat fish and chicken tenders are the best. When you have spent all day in the sun and are starving, you can go in here, walk through the line and make a selection of things that have been cooked that day. Really like all the food choices. Always get more than I can eat. Only one problem is that the woman cashier over charges what I am getting. Since the prices are not shown, not even on the credit card receipt, you don't realize what she is doing. Charged for a drink I didn't get. Next time charged for more tenders than I got. We stopped in today and ordered the chicken strips special. It comes with twenty pieces, six rolls and two large sides. Plus gravy. I figured since we were feeding five adults, we'd get an extra side. The sides were good but nothing special. On the other hand, the chicken strips were excellent and huge. In fact none of us could eat more than two. Mom has a lot of leftovers! The folks at Cochran's are so nice and pleasant. Please leave a nice tip for them in the jar. I caption was excellent and I probably could've got away with just one piece of it it was so big. Love you ability to pick my own sides and there were plenty of options to choose from. This was a cool spot to go to for lunch, it is set up cafeteria style so you just walk along with your tray and choose what you want. There are many options to choose from. I had pot roast and meatloaf which were good. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of foods you get. The only down side was everything needed seasoning and the peach cobbler was doughy and not that sweet and my banana cream pie tasted like flavored foam. read more

After reading the other reviews, it looks like you might need to come here at the right time. We went on a Sunday about 2pm and the food was fine. The space could use an update, but was clean and the food was hot and delicious (my meal could have easily fed two people). Service was fine and I would definitely go again. read more

We live about a mile from this place, and we really like it. The servers are very friendly and helpful. I recently got their chicken and dumplings and it had a lot of chicken in it. It could have used a little more spice like garlic or poultry seasoning, but they won't ever be able to please everyone. Their fried chicken is very good and we like the sides. They have a large variety of entrees and sides including salad. My husband said that their cobbler was good. It's reasonably priced as well. The quart size of chicken and dumplings was 15$$, and st first I thought that was expensive until I saw how much chicken was in it. read more

Food is ok. It gives you a variety that you can't find around here. The portion sizes are big. The main problem is that they wait on the people in the drive thru before you can be seen. It does not matter if you got there first, you have to wait for the drive thru to be cleared. read more
