The seating outside was right next to a bus lane and wasn't the most relaxing, but the indoor seating was well put together. I kept it at 5 stars because the indoor seating is nice, but it was a 4 star for outside. The staff were super friendly and quick with service. Even recommended the chilaquiles verdes to me and let me tell you.. they were SO GOOD! I saw a review say they were bland but I really felt they were flavorful with the perfect combo of everything in the plate. Will be back for this dish specifically

From the food to the drinks, this place was 10/10! We came here on a Saturday afternoon and were seated immediately. All the employees were kind and didn't make us feel rushed or unwelcome. It's a very mellow atmosphere inside, so it's a perfect place to have a relaxing meal and be able to have a nice conversation with friends and family. They have tons of options for brunch, lunch and dinner. Even several vegan options as well! I ordered the beef birria tacos off the dinner menu. They looked so tasty, I couldn't even snap a pic before they were devoured. They're made with the softest blue corn tortillas. Like pillow soft. The meat they used didn't have any gross gristly pieces in it either, and was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I love all the toppings they added too. It's clear they take care with all their dishes. My cocktail was also so good that I regret not getting a second one, but that just gives me an excuse to be back! This restaurant will always be a staple in my recommendations now!

Chilaquiles

This place is absolutely delicious! The chilaquiles are amazing! I've tried both the red and green versions, and you really can't go wrong with either. The portions are huge, and my boyfriend and I have shared an order before and still left satisfied. Their café de olla is also fantastic and pairs perfectly with breakfast. A bonus is that they'll give you a to-go cup if you want to take the rest with you. On top of the great food, the restaurant has a wonderful vibe and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Great food, generous portions, excellent coffee, and outstanding service.

Chilaquiles verdes and mazapan pancakes

I would do the good, the bad, and the ugly, but there's only good about this place. When you drive by and see a crowd, don't be intimidated, the line moves FAST. With a big crowd, we were seated within 10-15 minutes after being told 30-45 minutes. The staff was great! Nice place with subtle music playing and ample seating. The food, the food was amazing. If you're not a big eater, you easily share a plate. We ordered the chilaquiles verdes, and mazapan pancakes, both were so good. Definitely coming back

Green chilaquiles 2.5/5

I really hate that I didn't enjoy this place. I love the overall theme and was excited to see authentic Mexican food. A little disappointed a brunch menu wouldn't include a little more variety for coffee drinks such as a latte or mocha. We were seated right away on a Sunday morning. Ordered the Horchata cold brew and cafe de olla. Both drinks were a miss for us, the horchata cold brew tasted watered down and the cafe de olla was okay. We were told the horchata cold brew is just horchata and cold brew mixed together. Not sure if this was true but would be disappointing to know if this was the case that I can just simply do this at home. Food: Ordered Fresas con Crema French toast and Green chilaquiles. Although there weren't many people when we arrived it took about 35 minutes for our food to arrive. Both dishes were underwhelming. The French toast was over saturated with cream and the actual FT lacked flavor and because of the amount of sauce, most of the toast got very soggy. The chilaquiles were not bad but the green sauce could be better and the birria that came was okay. We were not in love with the dish. Our server checked on us a few times, had to wave other servers from time to time when we didn't see ours for a while. It did get a little crammed after a while and tables for two run a bit small and right next to other tables so someone did bump into our table while getting into their seat due to space. Overall cute atmosphere with a good idea but not great execution per what we experienced. I would probably not return.

Enmoladas

Used my trusty app to find a brunch place and landed here. I found it to be incredibly authentic, delicious and reasonably priced with friendly service. To start, we ordered some adult beverages - white sangria and bloody Maria. Both were served quickly with beautiful presentation, and they were quite tasty. With a group of girlfriends, I could see myself getting the bottomless mimosas (currently $22). For our breakfast, I came in thinking I would get chilaquiles, but I changed my mind after seeing the huevos rancheros were served atop 3 crispy fried corn tortillas (essentially fresh tostadas) AND with lamb birria. Hubby ordered the enmoladas. Minutes later, our entrees arrived. I really enjoyed the crisp of the tostadas, perfectly cooked eggs over medium and the flavorful, tender birria. I've come to realize that I prefer beef birria (birria de res) as lamb does have more gamey taste, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. And the potatoes were just right - nicely seasoned and cooked well. Hubby's dish was just as good. I usually find mole to be overpowering and I tire of the taste quickly, but the mole in his enmoladas had the right amount of sweetness and the short ribs were very tender. Service was very friendly and we were checked on a few times by both our server and a person I believe to be the manager. Hubby gave it 4 stars - said his dish could have been a little hotter. I'd say more like 4.5 stars for that reason, but I rounded up to 5 stars because I enjoyed it that much. I definitely recommend Cocina de Barrio and I'd be happy to return in the near future.

Beautiful - homey interior, with just as good Mexican food! On the outside it seems like it's out of place almost because North Park is heavily saturated with "aesthetic cool bars/restaurants". But if you want a good savory drink, bomb add birria tacos, and a spicy sauce this is a must try! My friends and I came here after we tried going to Sono, (booked for the night), and we were really hungry so we crossed the street over to here. We were sat right away, server was kind and attentive! He got our order in right away and drinks as well. The drinks are so good and pretty! For food, I got the birria tacos, don't let the blue tortillas scare you, they are bomb. The server also brought us a sauce don't remember the name, but it was so spicy but delicious with our food! The manager even stopped by the end to ask how everything went, and told us about how this location is fairly new - especially with dinner service some most of the other restaurants solely do breakfast/brunch. We had a great time here!

Happy hour fish tacos - delicious!

5/5 down the board for the incredible service, food and ambiance! The space is beautiful and so is the food. Every dish was crafted beautifully and tasted even better than they looked. A special shout out to their incredible salsa macha that I'm still thinking about days later - a huge thanks to Eduardo for introducing it to me! The service was so gracious and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Highly recommend and I can't wait to come back!

The food here is amazing. It definitely lives up to the hype. It's beautify on the inside. The service was very quick and efficient. The ambiance is wonderful, super trendy, clean, feels very authentic. A perfect brunch spot.

Huevos rancheros with lamb, portobello tacos, coffee, Bloody Mary, berry cup

Highly recommend! We came for brunch around 1 PM on a Sunday and didn't have to wait for a seat. I recommend the patio. The staff was really kind and our server Maria was a delight! She was welcoming, made excellent recommendations when we were torn between choices, and was able to highlight the Oaxaca cuisine versus more widespread ones. We got the portobello mushroom tacos, and the huevos rancheros with lamb, a Bloody Mary, and the Barrio coffee (sweet, flavorful), which were all delicious and had large portions. The tortillas were fresh, too! As someone who eats plant based, I really appreciated the plant based sections in the menu and the fact that they offer vegan cheese. Will be back!

SO SO SO GOOOOOOD!!!! Ahhh my family and I got to try this WONDERFUL restaurant recently and wow it did not disappoint. From the service, to the decor, to the food - everything was 10/10! The chorizo hash is mouthwatering and perfect. I would recommend it even more on a cold rainy day! The chilaquiles and huevos rancheros were out of this world. Not to mention, the prices - SO REASONABLE! You get so much food with every item. We ordered a kid's eggs and fruit and it could've served two adults! We will be back and HIGHLY recommend!

The best birria tacos I've ever had! Very fun interior setting. Can't wait to try the happy hour! The drinks are made with just as much love as the food. Hospitable and friendly service :)

Most people come here for brunch but I got to try their dinner and it did not disappoint! My friend and I ordered a variety of foods, two of which I have never had before. Mole and cactus. The service is very attentive, we had multiple people check on us during our meal. My favorite thing we got was the ribeye steak but the green mole was super delicious. If you like Mexican food but slightly elevated you will enjoy this place for sure!

I made a reservation (just in case) because on a weekend you never know. Luckily, though, we arrived and there was plenty of available seating. My husband and I had our 10 and 5 year old with us and they easily accommodated us. It's a straightforward, but lovely menu that has a little bit for everyone. We enjoyed sharing a few plates and fresh oysters on the half shell. They do not have a kids menu, which was alright with us. Our daughter, who loves a good steak at 5 years old, enjoyed their pub steak and fries and shared a Mexican Coke with her brother. For my husband and I, we enjoyed sharing their beef tartare and to finish it off, a banana split. What we found so whimsical about Finca is their presentation. My husband and I really enjoyed exploring their menu and leaving room for a return visit soon. I couldn't recommend Finca more for anyone looking for a fun and casual dining experience with a lovely staff and unique take on traditional favorites.

I think we ordered just about everything on the left side of the menu, but the standouts were the beef tartare, the lamb osso buco, and the hamachi. Honestly, there wasn't a single bad bite all night. The wine list is thoughtfully curated, with some unique Spanish selections that were a pleasant surprise. This may have just become my new regular haunt. It's a fantastic neighborhood gem that deserves a place on any foodie's must-visit list. Absolutely love this place!
