TERRIBLE! crappy service, they will lie to you and you will pay for something and not receive what you should receive for the price. called in a large cheese dip for a party and an order of rice and it was $56, they charged for a HALF GALLON of cheese dip and we got back to the party only to realize they gave us 5 bags of chips and 16oz of cheese dip... half a gallon is 64oz... went back and asked if they could give us what we ordered or refund us and we'll just keep what we were given only to receive the nastiest attitude from the hostess. we will not be going back! very nasty environment too, very dirty. the attitudes/nasty looks of the waiters were even dirtier tho. read more

I have passed this place probably 20 or 30 times in the past but decided to try it today. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food that Codina Real delivered. I may be weird, but I often judge a Mexican restaurant not by their chips and salsa as much as I do by things like carnitas, refried beens, shrimp cocktail, and chili rellenos or Mole if the have it on the menu. Today, at Cosina Real (the Royal Kitchen), I tried their carnitas and cocktail de camarones. Both were superb! I will definitely be back to check out other items on their menu soon! read more

Waiter came by in under 2 ready to take the drink and food order. Place is hopping and you can tell the wait staff is very attentive. Chips warm and fresh; salsa good with garlic notes and enough kick to be nice but not spicy (I'm sure they can kick it up if you want) Almost every table full plus some serious take out biz going. My wife orders Hawaiian fajitas and I'm having enchilada supremas. She gets the fajitas in about five minutes (I'm guessing timing and the cool made multiple at once. They come out hot and perfect. In looking at them, I am blown away by the sheer number of shrimp on the plate. I'm guessing 20 medium shrimp! The enchiladas take a little longer so I do sit and watch for a few minutes. Some might not like it, it's no big deal for me as I see it was efficient to get her food quick. The ambiance is nice and the chips and Sala put me in a nice hold pattern. I like a good enchilada and I'm not disappointed. Pure Mexican comfort food! Every one is fresh and the enchilada sauce is perfect. I'm about 1/3 done when the folks down the way have a birthday celebration with all the waiters joining in reminding me why I like mom and pop Mexican restaurants. I'm in Lawrenceburg TN. Pro: Portion is big, service is attentive, ambient is nice. Con: the Long Island ice tea (the premium version) is too sweet, couldn't finish it. The shrimp cocktail sauce is again too sweet, tomato juice only. It looked great and the amount of shrimp is amazing, but I couldn't eat any in that diluted tomato juice. Personally I will not dine there again. But my friends who do not eat spicy food, liked their cactus stone bowl soup, which feeds at least 3 ppl. That is usually my top favorite Mexican dish, but this version just not appealing to me. I guess this is a more Americanized place, more sweet and light than a regular Mexican restaurant. We've eaten here several times. But after a few bad experiences and management refusing to call back and address the issue after this last time, sadly it'll be our last. I ordered take out, one of the items being Mexican egg rolls. I got home to realize they had given us the cream cheese filled dessert not the Mexican rolls. When I called about the issue the person on the phone wanted to argue with me about it and eventually said they would remake it. After driving 15 mins back to get the replacement item while my actual dinner was getting cold at home. They didn't even offer me a refund and barely a sorry. Then the last time we were in there our son didn't receive his kids meal till after my oldest had completely finished hers and we were half done with our meals. I went to pay and realized they had charged us more than double for a cheese dip we ordered. I explained that they have never charged us that much (we've ordered this dip the same way at least 20 times) The person was argumentative and his fellow employee standing off to the side was rolling her eyes and being disrespectful about a situation she wasn't even involved in. (However I'm not surprised as she was serving the table behind us, people she was obviously friends with and had been rather rude and pushy about space (as everything was crowded) with my daughter who's 8) I then mentioned to the gentlemen that I also wasn't happy our sons food came out so long after ours. His response was well did you tell the waiter? I have to tell the waiter to make the situation right? He knew the food came out considerably later than everyone else's, yet choose to do nothing about it. I get things happen but arguing and not correcting things that were clearly your fault isn't a great way to run a business. read more

We visited this restaurant a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon. They weren't extremely busy and the atmosphere was acceptable to the senses. The food was mediocre at best. The service was terrible. Now for the really pathetic part of the visit. I wasn't aware of it until a week later when I was reviewing my debit card transactions. I paid for our meal with it and left a not so well deserved cash tip. Upon reviewing my bank statement I discovered that they had added an additional $5 tip to my card. This is a terribly unacceptable action. You had better believe that I will be notifying management and trust me, I'll never step foot in the place again!! read more

This place was pretty good! I loved that they had fresh house made chips, and the salsa was delicious. They also had a whole vegetarian section on their menu, which I really appreciated. I got the vegetarian fajitas and they were great, a good variety of veggies. The rice and beans were my favorite part. They have a lot of different margarita flavors here too, so if you like margaritas, this is a great place to go! Our waiter was very attentive and the food came out really quick. We came here on a Monday to participate in the trivia night and had a great time! The trivia was really well organized and it was a fun night for us. The food was prompt and decent for the area, nothing to write home about. The service however was terrible. Our waiter was very rude as soon as we sat down. He asked us if we were ready to order and as I was in mid sentence he just walked away. When he came back after taking our order he slammed our drinks on the table and tossed us the silverware. My husband recently lost his wallet along with his drivers license so all he had was a military ID that they refused to accept when he ordered a margarita. I wouldn't come back again.
