Such a great restaurant! I loved the atmosphere, staff were friendly, tasty food, good service and very clean. Authentic feel with the music and the unique paintings. I got the torta de asada and it was one of the best I've had in clt! Desserts also looked great, def save space for one! More of a self-serve style, they have a cute salsa bar on the side, aguas frescas and beverage fridge with jarritos/other drinks. The menu is pretty good with additional specials on the front glass. The parking situation wasn't the best but I asked and there's a space right in front where you can park if the other side parking lot is full. Will def be back!

My girlfriend and I stopped by Salata in South End on the way out of town for a birthday Airbnb…read moretrip and thought the place looked great inside. The space is bright, clean, and feels like a nice addition to the neighborhood. The biggest downside was the parking situation which is obviously more of a South End issue than a Salata issue, but it definitely made the quick stop feel less convenient than we expected. The ordering flow was also a little awkward... after building your order you end up waiting at the register while the food is assembled, which slowed things down more than it needed to. Food-wise, my wrap ended up being really good but there wasn't an option for a plain wrap, so I went with the cucumber wrap instead of whole wheat and it actually worked out great. Overall, it was a good meal, but if I'm choosing between salad spots in Charlotte I'd probably lean toward Chopt most of the time.

I walked in and no one was inside so I was able to order right away. I had a spinach salad with lots of yummy fresh toppings and the spice chipotle lime chicken. It looked as good as it tasted. The pesto chicken looked great too, but I wanted a little heat. I love their options and that you get the cute lil croissant with the salad. I had the ginger lime vinaigrette and REALLY enjoyed this salad.

I opted for the Entree (chicken) with two sides (mixed roasted vegetables and their feta carrots), and a glass of their sparkling white wine. The service was so kind and helpful, and the girl who took our order was the absolute sweetest. Our food came out quickly, and everything was great. The chicken was juicy and lemony; the vegetables were all PERFECTLY roasted and tossed in a variety of seasonings. The carrots were really standout, with a creamy feta sauce and tons of fresh dill. Even the sparkling wine (from a can!) was good! Can't wait to go back and try more.

During my most recent visit, I spent nearly an hour watching a staff member greet and check on every table in my section except mine. She made eye contact with me several times but never acknowledged me or asked if I needed anything. Being completely overlooked while everyone around me received attentive service was frustrating and made me feel unwelcome. I brought my concerns to the manager, hoping the issue would be taken seriously. Instead, I felt that excuses were made for the staff member's behavior rather than acknowledging my experience. That response left me with the impression that this type of service is acceptable and that the issue is unlikely to be addressed. That's disappointing because the food and atmosphere are genuinely enjoyable, but good service should be part of the overall experience as well.

Get Schnitz-faced!!…read more In Yafo Kitchen has become my go-to spot in Charlotte, largely because of one dish: the schnitzel. If you're a schnitzel fan, stop reading and order it. Two generous pieces arrive shatteringly crisp with a beautifully seasoned panko crust that's never greasy. The chicken stays tender and juicy, and the fresh lemon wedges bring everything to life. It's one of those dishes that keeps pulling me back. My favorite side is the shell macaroni and cheese. Rich, creamy, and unapologetically indulgent. Together, the schnitzel and mac and cheese are comfort food perfection. I also love the self-serve organic Tractor beverages, the open kitchen concept, and how consistently clean the restaurant feels. The team is friendly, the food comes out quickly, and you can watch everything being prepared right in front of you. Parking is easy thanks to the shared shopping center lot, the outdoor patio along East Boulevard is pleasant, and the portions are generous for the price. Clean restaurant. Friendly people. Consistently delicious food. Yafo is one of those places that simply gets it right. Life is too short not to eat well, Charlotte.

Food is pretty solid with decent allergy-safe options, but it is overpriced (sandwich with fries was $20). I wouldn't come back for a meal, but willing to revisit to try their drinks. Detailed breakdown: I've been waiting to try Salted Melon for awhile, and it certainly is a cute spot. I loved the retro-ish vibe, the plants all around, the comfy seating, and the overall layout. Definitely the right vibes for catching up with a friend. Their Five Star Steak sandwich was pretty good. Had nice flavors overall and their fries were solid. It was also nice to see plenty of gluten-free options. However, the price point is definitely high. It was $20 for the sandwich plus fries (sandwiches only come with a side of artisan greens, and there's an upcharge for fries). Service was great, though! Very nice group of employees when I went, who were happy to help with any questions. Due to the price, I wouldn't come back for a meal; however, I'd love to try their drinks and just hang out with a friend in their chill space.

I ordered the spicy chicken Caesar wrap and appreciated the option of a gluten-free tortilla--it's always nice to see places offering alternatives like that. That said, the wrap itself was a little underwhelming. The portion felt smaller compared to similar wraps I've had elsewhere, and the filling was inconsistent. About half of it barely had any chicken, while the other half had a decent amount. I really enjoyed the pasta salad and I liked the added touch of arugula--it gave it a fresh, slightly peppery twist that stood out.

The space has this homey, rustic charm that's approachable without trying too hard, the kind of spot where you settle in quickly. The menu is plentiful without being overwhelming, which I appreciate. You can tell they've curated options that feel like elevated home‑cooking rather than restaurant theatrics. My trout and octopus were genuinely good -- fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. I'd love to see the portioning just a touch more generous, especially for dishes that shine as much as these. Service was great throughout, warm and attentive in that easygoing way that fits the restaurant's personality. Overall, Kid Cashew is a solid choice for a quick, comforting meal -- something that feels a little like home‑cook style but with a polished touch. The chicken skewers were especially great during earlier visits -- very moist, flavorful, and something we specifically came back to order again. Unfortunately, our last visit was really disappointing. The chicken was extremely overcooked and very dry compared to prior visits. The brussel sprouts were also undercooked and mostly raw. It's also worth noting they do not take reservations for parties under six, which can make planning ahead difficult during busy times. It was frustrating because we know the food can be much better based on our previous experiences. If the kitchen were more consistent, the rating would be very different.

We started with a few drinks and the dip trio (love the plantain chips!) But what set us off right was the mojito! Asia, our bartender, made an outstanding drink. As former bartenders we can be a bit critical and rarely have a mojito we really like. We got a second one just to see if it was a fluke lol, but she delivered again. Consistency is important. The excellent service continued with our server Tony. He made great suggestions and helped us make sure to guide us through the menu as we aren't familiar with Peruvian cuisine. I had the Plancha Chicken and it was fantastic. My bf had lettuce wraps and the tuna ceviche which he devoured. Great food, excellent service, and kudos to the manager Darnell who checked in with us.
