Delicious food with seafood options. I had the fish tacos which was delicious. The fish is not the usual fried type but diced up and tender. It was full of flavor. This is a colorful Hole-in-The-Wall local Mexican restaurant that offers Sea Food and Mexican food. With Pastel, Flamingo pink; yellow and orange color the restaurant present without any doubts an original taste of the coast of Mexico. Fishes and serapes hanging around you almost have the impression to be on vacation. Le Caldo de Pescado was delicious with a fish broth made from scratch. It is delicious and if you know authentic Mexican food let me tell you this will be your go to place once you've tried it. Menu prices are not bad at all. You always get enough food. With the covid going on they are offering pick up. We picked up some delicious warm pozole Sunday; which came with some buttered francesitos, oregano, red crushed peppers, limes, and the toppings for the pozole (cabbage, radishes). They have authentic Mexican bottled soda. Their in house made limeade is also amazing !! The burritos for breakfast are one of my favorites, as well as the shrimp cocktail and asadero quesadillas. This is a little hidden gem. The food is excellent. Great taste, not heavy. Perfectly seasoned. The chips and salsa are also excellent, the salsa was actually spicy! I also had a shrimp cocktail but it was a bit on the sweet side. I would have preferred it with Clamato than the sauce they used. The plates are served with a half of an avocado. My husband had the shrimp tacos, also very good. I am not a rice fan, but my husband said it was good. Service was quick and food was served quickly and with adequate temperature. The place was busy. Actually -0- Stars! My wife and I pass by this restaurant more than 5 times a week when we take the Montana exit coming south in Hwy. 54. We'd seen a few people go in and out the establishment pretty frequently, so I thought it might be worth our while to stop in and see what types of seafood they may have to offer. We were really looking for fresh fish to have a small family & friend afternoon Fish Fry. This seeming to be an older establishment I thought, maybe they have a fresh seafood side as well. Upon our entry we were greeted by a singer/guitar player soothing the patrons with a nice melodic tune in Spanish. My eyes perked up after glancing over the authentic colorful dining area. I notice that all of the attending patrons were Senior Hispanic attendants that appeared quite comfortable in their wooden and metal seats swaying between the soothing melodic cords of the guitar player. "Oh man..." I thought. "We might be in for a treat!" My wife, who was already a couple of steps ahead of me, stepped inside and went straight to the cashier's register where an elderly gentleman stood reading an invoice or something. Behind him I could see other employees stirring about. A few seconds later, I stood by her side. By this time I know 10-20 seconds went by easily. He still hadn't budge an eyebrow to even look at us. Let alone, me, being a 300 pounder above 6 feet of ground space, I should have grasped a gnat's slightest attention. But to our avail. He still hadn't moved. So we did. We left. At 61 years of age, I'd never experienced an insult from a restaurateur of not wanting or even welcoming me into his/her establishment ever before. As an African Americans, we've felt the string of racism and we know all too well the stench of hate. This was one of those moments. Very subtle. My wife experienced that subtle ignore-freeze, from another Hispanic person while shopping in a Payless store in Barrett Place Mall. Again in a Walmart store in Mesa. But that's okay. We caught the hint. In fact, we welcome that subtle stair off into oblivion of non recognition.. Particularly in restaurants. Because we don't care to consume the hatred you may have for us- literally or figuratively. We don't have a pallet for odd substances in the food and drink you don't want to serve us. So we'll gladly save you the energy and us the time and go to another establishment that don't mind taking our money for food we can cook, season, prepare and serve at home. We can even mask the table settings to look authentic just like your establishment, Timo's Seafood and even go the extra mile and dose it up with some Al Green, The Staple Singers and a little Pete Escovito if'n we want. I've been fans of these performers for 30+ years. Had the pleasure of meeting Pete Escovito back home in a club I worked at in Atlanta in the late 80's. Great guy! But we're good with that. The best time to come for price is probably lunch - especially if you eat with at least one other person. The least crowded time is after 7:30pm. This is -food wise- one of the best values in El Paso. There are actually 2 locations on Montana as it is larger and has several seating areas. We tend to go to the one closer to downtown. Still, the price and delicious food draws us back. At either location, we have experienced days when the staff must of just had a terrible day. The outstanding example was one Sunday when we arrived an hour and a half before closing, but we were not able to go in as the staff said they were closed. My wife called the other location to speak to a manager. She was informed that they were supposed to be open and the owner would be informed. Other times, it always seemed to be a communication error of some sort. Last night was an example of this. My wife order her drink and I ordered a Dr. Pepper. The place is a traditional Mexican establishment that mixes meat and fish dishes. We ordered the queso fundido with rajas and chorizo to get over the anger provided by Firestone. It was a sloppy creation yet ok with some salt. I ordered the carnitas plate and babe tacos. The cheese as stated good portion size yet missing that zest. The tacos were flavorless. The pork bites were dry and needed salsa to get a true taste. The waitress had a total of 4 tables yet seemed It was a full establishment. I would like to thank the owner Jose Gomez for the exceptional customer service from him and his team!! Although they do not have catering services, Mr. Gomez went out of his way to help me with my family event. I ordered 2 pots of Pozole and 1 pot of Menudo. They delivered and set up all the fixings. The worker came back to provide us with a tub of butter after realizing we did not have butter for the bread. The Pozole and the Menudo was THEE BEST EVER!!! The entire party continued to ask throughout the evening "where did you get the pozole and menudo?" Everyone complimented the food the entire night saying it was some of the best they had in El Paso... and I agree!! All 3 pots finished and it was A LOT!!! All I provided were the pots.
