My pedicure started before my manicure and I was starting to enjoy the experience until the manicure. However my feet are still rough, and the polish edges are not clean/even. When I left, the girl at the front didn't say thank you for coming or how was everything, etc., but I stopped and mentioned that the Mgr/Owner woman should consider that some customers, like myself, can understand Korean, so perhaps she shouldn't talk about customers in front of other customers. The girl said, "Oh sorry about that - I don't understand much Korean" Point missed. I think this had the potential to be a decent experience, but I left annoyed and disappointed, with not the color I wanted on my fingernails, and still rough feet vs feeling pampered and uplifted. Was hopeful bc the location is great for me, but will not return. Probably a good spot if you're not at all fussy and like it fast. read more

I come here all the time to get my nails done and it is usually the best. Today however, was the most horrible experience I have ever had there. From the moment i walked in i knew something was off. The lady working in the front rushed us to pick our color. I asked her if they had a regular polish color in gel as well, so my fingers & toes could match. Without even looking at me, she shrugged & told me to ask my tech. Whatever, nbd. Buuuut i had a nail tech named Maria & she did my gel manicure. I thought something was weird when she soaked my entire hands in acetone to get my gel off rather than wrapping my nails. Next, when she was scraping it off, she was scraping towards my nails beds, which I let her know was very uncomfortable. She continued anyway and was extremely rough, throwing my hands around--my sleeves were drenched bc of her. She was stomping all around to grab supplies, idk if she was having a rough day or what. When I asked for a specific color, she brought back a different one, which was fine except she didn't wipe it off before putting the color I actually wanted on my nails--even tho I asked her to. To end my experience, she viciously filed my finished nails & drenched my hands in oil. I was literally dripping oil & I didn't get up because I couldn't touch anything without leaving an oil trail behind so I had to ask for a towel, which seemed like a complete chore to her. Best of the nail salons around. Couple of quirky things; 1. They paint nails and toes at the same time which is great for time, but means you can read a magazine or use the vibrating chair most of the time. 2. They are constantly trying to up sell you to different manicure and pedicure types. 3. If you are inclined to be up sold (yup it happens to the best of us sometimes) honestly it's not worth it. I hate giving bad review like this but sadly this place deserves it. I came in on a Sunday. I was happy because I didn't have to wait and they apparently take credit cards. So far so good. They seated me in this weird back area, but I was happy as they started working on my mani/pedi immediately. They were a little pushy and upselly but usually I don't mind. I like a thorough updated pedi as much as the next girl. I ending up with the mani/pedi combo that was $68.00. Everything was going ok until apparently someone came in and asked for the girl by name who was doing my pedicure. I feel like she rushed to finish so that she could take her regular customer. The manicurist asked me to pay before she painted my nails which was fine. Then it got weird. Once she painted my nails I could see that both my nails and cuticles look the same as when I came in. Not good. When my services were done, both the manicurist and pedicurist left as fast as they could. They left me sitting in the back area by myself. No one offered me a fan for dry my nails or helped me to put my shoes back on or anything. I called for help to no response but after a while I just showed my self to the door. On the way out no one spoke to me at all. Maybe this is a place where you get better service when you're a regular. That's too bad because I live walking distance away but I will never come back here. I've been going here since October and generally have a good experience. However, I was in this morning for a gel pedi and regular manicure. I felt rushed. I added the callus remover to my pedi and left with skin still coming off. The sides of my heels are still rough! She didn't do a thorough job which is frustrating because I left spending $85 after tip. Another interesting thing...they asked me to pay prior to them finishing. I didn't have cash so I added the tip onto my card. I would have left less of a tip after seeing the bottom of my feet but that wasn't an option. read more

I love Coco's! I love the fact it's not one of those creepy places where they have you sit in a broken office chair and put your feet in a plastic bag filled with water. Why do people keep going to those places? I digress.... I rarely have an appointment, and the longest I've had to wait is 15 minutes. I usually get right in. TIP: Don't go on a Friday or Saturday am. BUSY. I have gotten gel, shellack, plain ole manicure, buffed out manicure and tips. The only complaint I have is a few of my tips stayed on one day, BUT I went back the next day. They were so apologetic. They fixed my nails pronto and even offered me a free eyebrow waxing. This is one place where I feel they do a great job on pedis. Occasionally I will have to ask them to work a bit harder on my nasty ass blade toes, but they always do...and do a great job. I have also gotten a facial from them, and thought it was great. However, I don't get facials very often so I don't have much to compare it too. The conversation isn't great, but that's because I don't speak Vietnamese. This review is only for the massage not nails. I LOVE massages and been getting massages pretty regularly so it doesn't take much to figure out the difference from a good one to a bad one. I was given a gift certificate for 1 hour full body massage to CoCo Nail and Spa. So last Friday, to get ready for the long weekend I decided to go give it a try at Coco Nail Spa. I arrived little early but was able to rcv the massage right away. The place is pretty big and the massage area is separated from the nail area. When I walked in, gentleman was finishing up his massage. There were about pretty good numbers of massage beds there but I was told to go to the massage bed that previous customer was just finished up with. I totally don't mind HOWEVER they did not even replace the bed with new towels but only replaced the paper towels of the face area. OK Whatever.. didn't want to make a big deal as long as they offer good massage. The gentleman who gave me a massage obviously thought he can just push me here and there and make easy money. My 5 year old nephew could have given me better massage.... I will not mention his name BUT he was really bad. Usually an hour massage feels VERY short = a good massage does. BUT this was the longest one hour massage I have ever felt... He just pushed down on me from head to toe with barely any pressure. When I asked him I want little harder, still made no difference. In the middle of the massage he left me and went to the bathroom. I heard the toilet flush and him blowing his nose.... I was very disgusted when he came back and started massaging my hair. I told him not to touch my face... As soon as the massage was over I came home and took a VERY VERY LONG shower...then went to my original massage place to actually get a REAL massage that I was unable to rcv from this place. I must say, you'd have thought they'd have been happy to be back. No one in there was happy. Front desk girl wasn't friendly before but now even more crabby if that is even possible. Terrible mani pedi in quality for one. Non existent foot Massage (maybe 2 minutes total, that's being generous). Didn't even touch nail w tool when pushing back cuticles, I don't know if she can't see or what but literally did nothing. Polish uneven and bubbly. Rushed through the entire thing. Pedicure was completed w polish in 25 min max. And they literally expect their tip regardless of the quality of the work they do. It was almost not worth going there before and now it's even worse. Also would've thought they might take advantage of having 3 months to actually clean the place but it's nasty as ever. This place is not worth the money. And to have to deal with their attitudes is beyond not worth it - there's lots of other places with nice people. And w regard to Covid - one girl there walked around the place getting all set up WITHOUT mask (on day two of being open!!). Also there are plexiglass blockers for manicurist but I could tell that they were not cleaned from day prior as I was first saturday customer and there were finger prints and dust from filing all over it. I got a gift card for coco nail spa and while they staff and my manicurist were very nice I found it very expensive for what you get. My gift card said manicure and pedicure $38. I only got a pedicure and it cost $55 (with callus treatment) and your normal 5 minute massage. I won't go back unless I get another gift card - not going to turn down "almost" free. read more

Do not get a gel polish here. FIrst I got a a gel polish and a pedicure and they over charged me for the pedicure; one lady wrote down on my ticket 32 but the other lady told me it was 37 and when I asked why when it said on the ticket, she told me it's because the ladies doing the work have difference prices from the front desk? That was after trying to cover the price change by telling me she'd made a mistake and my my gel polish was actually $40 when she'd just told me $35. Anyway, I got my gel polish Wednesday morning at 11 and by 8pm the next night 2 of the nails had come off, and by Friday morning another 2. They did fix them no problem, but in the following 4 days 6 more nails peeled off (including 2 that they had already redone.) Not a fan of their quality of work or their prices for the amount they are charging. A mani/pedi with gel polish on my fingers was $77, that's outrageous, even more so considering the gel polish is suppose to last at least 2 weeks and it didn't even last 48 hours. read more

I wandered into to coco's today because I had a coupon and was in the area. The initial $38 mani/pedi price was a bit shocking, but I thought I would try it. Although the manicure was alright, the pedicure was a disaster! I told the lady NOT to cut/file them short and she did the opposite. When I mentioned it she said that I was wrong and proceeded to say that someone else would finish the pedicure. She eventually finished it, but I think that was only because they were so busy. Needless to say I left $37 later, with a pedicure I can't stand to look at and disappointed :( It may have been a one off but I will not be returning as there plenty of other great places (that are more affordable and professional) in the south bay. read more

I have gotten gel here before and it looked great as well as my pedicure. However, the last time i went in there it was different. I went in for a pedicure and a full set of acrylic on my nails. I have had acrylics many times before, but this was my first time getting it done here. Basically, I was not happy. The lady kept missing spots on my nails and I had to keep telling her to fix it. It seemed like she was rushing through it which caused her to mess up a lot. After leaving and heading to work I noticed all the bubbles that were left in them and the spots she missed, which means they didn't cover my whole nail; it looked like they had been on my nails for a week already. Needless to say, I will not be going back to get my nails done there. I only went there because it it two blocks from my house. Not worth it any more. read more

My first Yelp review! Today was my second visit to this salon and I'm impressed once again. First off, I have to admit that I'm super picky when it comes to beauty services and often leave disappointed. My first visit to Coco's was three weeks ago and I got a pedi and gel mani. Hanna did my gel mani and it was fantastic. It lasted two weeks and looked great the entire time. Today, I got a full set of gel nails from Amy. I was very nervous as I've had bad experience with gel nails in other salons, but Amy listened to my concerns. She took her time and the end result was fabulous!!! Overall, the salon is clean and well kept, staff is very courteous and nice. I love this place and give it five stars based on the value / quality combo. The mani/pedi combos are fabulous and reasonably priced. The staff here are awesome. Gemma is my all time favorite, Megen is also incredible, and I honestly have never met anyone here that I didn't like. I usually pop in at the last minute so it's hard to control who I get assigned to, and that doesn't bother me one bit because they really are all good. They are friendly and efficient, regularly offering the same time mani/pedi, which I really appreciate because I usually have to get out of there in less than an hour. They have a huge selection of polishes & gels, comfy chairs & pillows and even a customer loyalty program. There is also a foot massage place downstairs where they give incredible massages. I brought my bridesmaids here to get their nails done for my wedding - some had good experiences, others had bad ones. Pros: It's clean, upscale decor, techs are friendly Cons: If you make an appointment, there's no guarantee anyone actually put it in the books, I had gels put on my nails and the girl who did them (Young) did a pretty bad job. 8 out of 10 of the nails had air bubbles within 24 hours, and 2 were ready to fall off by the wedding (had them done Thursday, wedding was on Saturday), 1 bridesmaids pedicure got destroyed when the tech tried to put on her flipflops for her and when she pointed it out, they basically told her "too bad" (I ended up redoing them for her myself in the kitchen of my apt). First time here today and I was pleased to finally find a place on Artesia Blvd. in Redondo Beach that had reasonable prices and good service. There are so many nail salons on this stretch of boulevard, and I almost went crazy because I couldn't find a decent one out of almost a dozen. That is until I came here! I am 8 months pregnant, and wanted to get a spa pedi before I became a sleep deprived zombie with an infant. Coco Nail Spa was on my long list of places to try, and for only $25 you get a beautiful, meticulous paint job, a decent leg massaged, and foot treatment. I was with Candy and she was just lovely. She tried to up-sell me on the next package up, but she wasn't pushy about it or rude when I declined (I'm on a budget!). She is a saleswoman trying to make a living and that's to be expected. I knocked off one star because the chair I was in was either broken or just not accommodating for a short person like me (I'm 5/2). The chair wouldn't move forward and I had to stretch out my legs and sat uncomfortably in the chair. I didn't realize that it didn't work until she tried to scoot me forward to scrub my feet. This nail salon is fast- which can be great. It looks like you should get the full spa experience here. My polish still looks great. The place looks small, but is set-up nicely, also I like how all the chairs aren't in a row. There are 5-6 next to each other, which would make it great to go with a few girlfriends and not feel like everyone was in on your conversation. It was decorated nicely, looked clean, and was relaxing. I did hear one woman ask for no lotion (she was going to spray tan) and the lady out lotion on anyways. I have been here a handful of times for spa treatments and rate it 5 stars! I always leave feeling refreshed and they get every knot and kink you have! As for today, I decided to try a gel nail manicure. When my mother and I walked in we had a picture of a simple nail design for them to hopefully be able to do. I love trying new designs and was very excited to get a reverse french mani! After about 10min of the receptionist going around asking the nail technicians if they knew how to do this design, she found one named Agnes who said she could do it. Agnes spoke no more than 10 words to me the ENTIRE time. I've been getting my nails done for over 10 years so I know the basic questions they ask to see how you want your nails done. "How short/long do you want them?" "Cut or filed down?" "What kind of shape do you want?" etc. She asked me none of these questions and gave me a rude look when I asked her to make them shorter. Also, I had to ask for her to clean under my nails. When it came to the design, she had no clue how to do it (this is after she re-assured me she did). Finally, Gemma came to the rescue and saved my nails and made them pretty after some direction! She finished up my manicure and did the design for me and I'm very pleased. She was super friendly! Overall, I have mixed feelings about Coco Nails. I love the spa side, but probably will stick to my regular nail shop (Fantastic Nails) in the future!
