I visited Coco Nails for the scalp massage treatment, and I must say I was very impressed. Booking prior to the visit was simple and efficient. The front desk associate will ask you to place a card on file and pay a small hold fee. The facility itself is spacious, clean, and well maintained, with ample off-street parking. The main room of the salon is used for manicures and pedicures, and it has an abundance of seating and a large polish wall. The secondary room at the rear of the main salon is specifically designated for massage therapy. The massage room had multiple beds that were separated by curtains for privacy. The area was clean and very organized. The massage specialist was friendly and walked me through each step of the treatment. The scalp massage also includes a scalp analysis before and after the treatment, as well as a blow-drying session once the treatment is completed. The massage was not good, the worker was talking to her coworker the whole time, I was not impressed... it felt rushed and I was very uncomfortable the whole time, she was not really doing her Best. I usually do not leave one star but for the money they charge I expected better. Maybe the person that did my pedicure was new or she was just lazy. So please don't take my one star to heart maybe I just had bad luck with the person that did my pedicure. I'll try the place down street in a month. Terrible experience! Bad energy & terrible attitude. I asked for gel and emphasized that it's $30 extra like if she was worried I couldn't afford it. The "massage" Felt like I was put in a wrestling hold. I adjusted my foot because i was in pain and tried to move it back in the same position. I asked to just stop 2 mins from into the "massage " and canceled the manicure after so much frustration. They still charged me $50 after only rubbing lotion on my leg for 2 mins I hading her $60 and she tried to keep the $10. I get to the place, first they tell me it is more money even tho I had an email from the day before confirming what I had booked. They said that the website has old prices. I am never one to write a review but I have gone to Coco Nails probably 4-5x now and have had minimal "good" experiences. The first time, someone new (apparently) was working the desk and completely forgot to write down my appointment? I walked in and there was no record of my call (which was 20 mins prior). The second time was fine, as was the third, even though I was given another employee whom I did not book with (again). This time (today) I called and asked to book with a specific employee again. They seat me, and someone else walks up. I said, I'm sorry where is ______? He said oh they are out today. I said "okay, well why did no one tell me that? I called 10 mins ago, and would have booked with another staff whom I have seen before." He did not answer and began my pedi. The pedicure was fine, but in my opinion not worth the price. The professionalism is severely lacking. A women who got a pedi was unhappy with it's quality and while cashing out, she and the owner (I think) began arguing back and forth. It was very loud and disruptive. When I am paying $55 for a basic spa pedi, I don't want to hear arguing. That's also not how you do business or resolve issues. Then when I was drying my pedi, the owner began arguing across the salon with an employee?? It was a very strange experience and as I have repeated frustrating experiences, I don't think I will be returning. Update: Owner replied (see below) and reports that I was making random comments to other clients? I sat quietly and made not one comment. I also did not ask for a foot massage, I asked for a pedi with a specific person. I confirmed this 3x on the phone prior to hanging up. I was nothing but polite and respectful to the worker and for the duration of my service. As you can see based on the owner's reply, this business appears to just want to fight with customers and make false accusations vs. trying to rectify situations. I have been a regular customer here, and the service is generally good. Today, I took my mother for her birthday, having told her how nice it was. While my pedicure was done excellently, the service my mother received was subpar. The technician working on her barely performed the basics, was unkind, made no effort to converse, and seemed distracted by other customers. Her nails were unevenly shaped and poorly polished. I paid $100 in cash for both pedicures to get double reward points and also tipped in cash. The cashier confirmed the points earned. When I expressed our dissatisfaction, the owner gave me a birthday coupon as a gesture. However, as we were leaving, the man (possibly owner) approached us in the parking lot (while I sat in my car), accusing us of not paying the full amount based on the cashier's claim. I insisted they check their cameras. If I were guilty why would we just be sitting there and chatting. I was deeply offended by this accusation, especially as other customers, who were white, were not treated this way. I insisted they check again. The owner apologized, but the damage was done. We were treated as thieves solely because we were the only people of color there. This experience was humiliating and upsetting. So much for a birthday surprise. I will never return to this establishment. If you decide to go, I strongly recommend getting a receipt or paying digitally. This place is the most unprofessional place. The owner and workers are bullies and only care about money and not common decency. My friend left a tip on a table and they didn't see it and accused her of not tipping. They ran after her in the parking lot. The owner has been harassing my friend with calls and texts. Wow, what a fantastic place! Yes, North Providence needs another nail salon! Today was their grand opening. Everything is bright, fresh, and clean. There's plenty of space. We did call ahead to make appointments an hour ahead. The prices seem quite reasonable. We had trouble in the past with people being rough and rushed, which is quite important to my mom who is diabetic with arthritis. They were great here! They are friendly and pay great attention to detail. I got the $45 pedicure package and with a gel mani. I'll update with how long it lasts! *** Update: I confess... I'm pretty new to this whole consistently having my nails done... before this, I'd been to places on a "special occasion" basis. With coco, I've found an excuse to be there now 4 times over the last 7 weeks. Sometimes for a quick mani. Sometimes for pampering with my mom. This last time... Coco treated me with a "Hey, honey!" and a hug. Fiona was my technician this time. I also had some nice chats with the other customers around me. The whole atmosphere is just lovely and friendly. At the end we were all chatting about the man/woman Snapchat filter and then Fiona asked me to show her and we had a good laugh at her filter result. Now I haven't paid full price yet because of all the deals they've pulled out their first month, but even at full price, it's worth the great results and a lovely time. Also, may I note that I've never had such smooth feet from any other place? I've been here many times, typically I get gel done on my nails. This time was for my wedding so I did tips and dip. The lady who did my nails assured me these would last the longest and said typically they last about 3 weeks. When I left on the first day they were beautiful. The next day one of my nails had a crack running through it, I didn't have time to go have it fixed. Over the next week my nails yellowed and continued to crack - these are the photos from 1 week after getting my nails done here. My nails have completely yellowed! I am beyond disappointed and disgusted in the quality of my nails. Especially since this is how they held up for 1 week during all my wedding festivities! I cannot imagine how terrible they would be if I were working or being more active with these nails. I would highly recommend going ANYWHERE else for dip nails. I have many friends who have done dip for years at other salons and have never had this happen in less than one week! read more

I went in for a pedicure, I just got the basic pedi ( I was short on time). The pedicure was so relaxing and Daniel did an excellent job. I had my first visit at CoCo Nails last night. I called to see if I could make an appointment and they has an availability right away. I was greeted immediately and was very happy to see how clean it was and that they even had the plastic barriers at each chair. I was then again greeted by a sweet lady named Summer. She brought me a fresh bottle of water. I was just going to get a regular pedicure but after looking at the various pedicures I decided on one. There was no upsell previously which surprised me. For the next hour me calves and feet were pampered beyond what I had expected. I left feeling amazing, rested and relaxed. Came here today because my usual place couldn't get me in today . My nail tech was named Candy and she was amazing she did my nails super fast but also they came out flawless!!!! She also found a way to add me in to a busy schedule for a pedi which I was grateful for since I asked right before I had finished my dip. I recently just went back to get a pedicure they increased the prices again. Usually not an issue but when you aren't getting quality service it's not worth it. I went back this time and got a pedicure I had to repaint my toes once I got home. The first two toes the nail polish was all bubbly I asked the nail tech to fix them and she just added an extra coat on top. She told me she saw it bubbly. To start with, I could not relax at all during my manicure/pedicure at all. There were random people in suits interviewing the front desk employee a few feet from my chair nearly the entire time. The front desk worker was super dramatic and kept loudly saying "What's going on?!" Making it very clear something was wrong. How do you relax when someone is freaking out for an unknown reason? At one point, the salon owner was yelling at someone outside the salon so loudly it could be heard inside. As far as the quality of service, I had three nails begin to chip within 24 hours of my manicure. I don't do anything extraneous, or clean a lot, so it's odd to me that the polish is falling off after less than a day. I'd been here several times before the pandemic started. I went back for the first, and LAST, time. I walked in and asked to get my nails done. The woman who greeted me walked me to the colors and tried to convince me to get gel over dip. Then she told me where to sit. She, the woman who actually did my nails, and a man all hovered around me to look at the inspiration photo I brought in. I felt rushed through choosing colors, they basically selected them for me, and clearly aren't close to what I asked for. When I asked to see the samples again of the colors that were about to go on my nails, the man (on his phone, mind you) acted like it was a big inconvenience and just handed me all three sets of the binder rings full of samples. With one hand being worked on, I tried to locate the colors with the other but basically couldn't. I just decided to let it go at that point. The lady doing my nails cut me so many times, one time being a gash on my pinky. I actually flinched and pulled back a little out of instinct, she paused, looked up as if she were annoyed that I was moving, and proceeded. When she was done, she told me it was $5 extra for four different colors. I don't know what difference it makes since all 10 fingers need dipped into a color. Relaxing, long, they put all types of lotions and scrubs on your feet and massage is included. Was told no acrylic, just dip powder and UV gel for nails.. which is fine since u usually get UV gel.. but $75..yikes! Tips are CASH ONLY. They do have an ATM machine inside that only charges a $1 fee. All in all is a great place and ties and nails came out great. I'm very satisfied. Parking sucksssss though. read more

I came here once before my negative experience because it was within proximity for a pedicure . And I loved it, the tech I had was great. And the staff seemed to be friendly. I even received a "rewards" card. I made it official this would be my new salon. The very next time, I was so excited to bring my sister along. I told her you'll love it. Just to have such an unpleasant spa day. This time around I ask for a mani/pedi. My usual manicure lady was booked so I was like let me try them out. I instantly regretted cheating on my nail lady. As I was getting my pedicure, a man comes to me in a hurry with supplies to get started on taking off my previous dip. The issue was that he ASSumed I had gel. When he noticed I didn't have gel on. He rolled his eyes and started speaking in his language and huffed and puffed to get the appropriate equipment. I was annoyed by that because how are you going to get upset with me, when you never even asked or even tried to assess my nails prior to grabbing what was needed. But I let it go. He then started to use the (machinery) to get the initial dip removed. I FELT MY NAILS BURNING. That really get me irritated and o couldn't even hide it. I knew my nail was now damaged because in his huff and puff haste he was too aggressive with my nail. Then to add insult over injury, another customer came in & he just walked away. The manager I assume came to my nail and tried to finish it hat that technician initiated but at this point. I was over my nails getting done. They asked how I'd like to proceed and I affirmed I'd rather my nails soak a little longer. The woman tech that was doing my pedi then became obviously irked that I had a problem with the way her male colleague did my nail. When she went to finish my mani. She took off the foil that was helping soak my nail and proceeded to use the (machinery) to get the rest of my dip off. I'll admit , even though I was extremely hesitant at this point , she was slightly gentler and I didn't feel the burn I initially felt . I then said to her, "thank you, it wasn't as rough as the first guy" to which SHE rolled her eyes and scoffed, "it's the same thing! Me and him did the same thing." Taken a back, I stated "no it was not." And she doubled down, " and said "yes it is!" At this point I'm pissed. How the hell you're going to tell me what I felt! My sister was done, with her mani/pedi and I called her over to discuss in front of the tech the situation and how I felt, that the female tech was out of bounds to tell me i didn't feel what I felt. The nail tech didn't say anything after that and I proceeded with my mani, ONLY because I had an event that was evening and desperate time called for desperate measures. The mani was bumpy on sone fingers and my nails not cut evenly on all fingers. However , at that point I think both the tech and I were over each other and just wanted to be done. It's very unfortunate for me that those two ppl ruined my experience at this place. UPDATE: My nails are now breaking, when I hadn't had a broken nail in months!!
