My husband and I felt like dining in tonight & found coconut rabbit on eat24 (our go to place to order take out) and this thai place was amazing! I got the short rib panang curry and it was delicious! The shortribs were soft and tender and the curry was flavorful! My husband enjoyed his chicken pad see ew as he kept saying "mmmmm!....mmmmmm!" In between Bites -- I took a few bites and I have never tried any pad see ew with so so much flavor anywhere ! We also got eggrolls & my kids loved them. It came on a bed of onion straws & a yummy ginger based sweet and sour sauce. They gave it 2 thumbs up. The corn fritters were also yummy & it comes with a sweet and sour sauce that compliments the fritter very well. Lastly, we ordered dessert sweet rice & mango & the taro black rice dessert and that just set the whole meal off! I am now satisfied, full & sleepy! Everything was delicious. Love Thai food and the Coconut Rabbit is the best. The coconut rabbit dumplings (no bunnies!) as an appetizer will make a grown man weep (OK, a slight exaggeration). The dumplings are a killer-good combo of chicken, cucumber, crab, and some Thai basil; you receive five along with a compilation of diced pineapple, red onion, and more cucumber, with sweet and sour sauce on the side. I rarely eat meat, but when I do, it's at the Coconut Rabbit. Also delish: the yellow curry chicken or the grilled shrimp in curry, served with squash. Don 't like curry? There are plenty of non-curry dishes, like the dumplings. (Yes, I'm obsessed with the dumplings!). The C/R folks will gladly serve you extra veggies instead of flesh if you aren't into eating meat. Service is superb, even when busy. Apple is especially attentive. The place is clean. A smaller restaurant, they serve approximately 14 tables. I am so happy I found this place! I walked in to place an order to go and the woman working was very friendly and helpful. I wanted to venture away from my usual items of Pad Thai and coconut chicken soup. She suggested Jungle Noodles and short ribs. Both were fantastic. A server at Benley recommended this place and that's why we came here. Clean, nicely decorated. Food was ... well.. kind of disappointing. We always try chicken larb, green curry and pad thai on a new thai place. They didn't have chicken larb onthe menu, but they made it for us and it was really good. Flavor and spice was spot on. Pad thai, however, was sweet and I actually asked them to make spicy, but it had ZERO heat... so I don't know what went wrong there. Green curry was also very sweet.. and quite salty and soupy... I would go back to eat larb, but would not order the other 2 dishes.. Service seems to be little slow too. read more

I was swayed to come here due to the 4.5 star rating, so maybe my expectations were too high. Someone said the Tom yum soup was the best they've had. Not my experience. It was too sweet, toooo pepper hot, and not that flavorful. Not sour enough. The pad Thai noodles were kind of soggy, and bland. The curry short ribs were delicious and the sauce was incredibly good, but there were only two smallish pieces of meat for the three of us. There was abundant sauce but what do you do with all that sauce which is almost a soup. The rice was not fluffy and fragrant like jasmine rice I'm used too. So we had a $10.00 off birthday coupon to dine here for my birthday in the month of August. So, I decided to share a papaya salad, shrimp pad thai, and blueberry panna cotta with my wife. I used the yelp check in for a free iced tea and had the coupon on the table. The server never acknowledged the coupon or said Happy Birthday and when the check came there was no discount given. We were the only couple there until another group came in around the time we were done eating and we sat at the table for half an hour after eating our dinner waiting for any one to check on us, but with 4 people working on a slow Wednesday evening they avoided us like the plague. Came here for a girls night out! We sampled their curry at the Taste for Los Al event and loved it so we wanted to come and try their other dishes. We shared 3 dishes... The Tom Kha Gai soup, shrimp Pad Thai and the Tamarind Chicken. The soup was a huge portion and we all had 2-3 bowls of the soup. The flavor of the soup was delicious and was perfect for a cold night out. The Pad Thai was also a generous portion and was exceptional. The Tamarind Chicken were strips of white breast meat lightly fried w/ a sauce that was a bit sweet and a bit sour...topped with small pieces of crispy fried shallots and basil leaves...lots of different flavors and textures...Delicious! Seemed like there was an ownership change. Food and service are no longer the same - unfortunately NOT for the better. Fried rice used was cheaper rice. Yes, we could tell. It was the broken non-aromatic type. Plates smaller. Curry sauce now thinner. Whatever they did to save money was coming across as being CHEAP. What is going on with Coconut Rabbit!? They've been so inconsistent lately! We've been coming here now since they opened & have recommended them to many friends, mainly because of their authenticity & depth of flavor in their dishes. But today, my panang curry tasted like a bunch of extra coconut milk was poured in: so incredibly bland! I just don't get it.....are they too busy at lunch, making them careless in their food prep? Are they catering to the "Thai-food's-too-spicy-for-me" crowd? I don't know, but this is now the second meal in a row that I've had at CB that's been sub-par. Please, guys, put more effort in....bring back those amazing flavors that we so fondly remember! We'd really like to keep coming, but if things keep going the way they are, we won't return.
