Beautiful location and view. I got the grilled salmon and although it was a tad overcooked, it was still great with the tomato relish. Unfortunately, the Mac and cheese fell flat which is disappointing because it was an upcharge. If you go I'd highly recommend the scoobies and the fish dip to start and avoid the Mac and cheese!

Food and service have been consistently good. Paella on Mondays is a must try! Half price wine bottles on Mondays and Tuesdays. Ask for dockside table for extra romantic ambiance during sunsets.

Good food and a great location! We enjoyed sitting outside near the marina and looking over to the water below and seeing all the tarpon swimming. We may have even fed them a little shrimp to get them to jump up ... shhhhhh Service was good considering how busy they were and they brought out the best key lime pie for my birthday - thank you!

Coconuts is a Florida staple and I finally got to give it a try Friday night. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated and got a great table outside on the lower dock, near the water. Service was terrific, our waitress was super kind, knowledgeable about the menu and weekly specials, and quick. It's chill vibes, you feel like everyone is there to have enjoy the outdoors and some good food. We got the scoobies to start of course, which you should most definitely get. It was in a flavorful yet simple melted butter. Each crab claw had a ton of meat on them which I was happily surprised about. I got 3 oysters (I forgot from where) which were fresh and delicious, I could've ordered a dozen of them but didn't want to fill myself up before my main entree arrived: smoked trout toast. Although I've had smoked trout before, this unlike anything I've tasted. It was one of their weekly specials and special it was! The smoked trout was delicious and tender; you could really taste the smokiness. It was packed with flavors of dill and mustard seeds and it all combined together wonderfully. All of that was on top of a piece of nicely toasted challah bread (I think that's what she said). It was a really tasty meal. Overall, I will for sure be back at Coconuts to try the rest of their menu and go back for the cool vibes.

everything we tried was great. lots of dining indoors and out. the fish and chips were fresh. the calamari fries were thick and were ok. I would probably skip it next time as the sauce tasted funny. the comfort bowl was like a big bowl of mac n cheese with some chicken added in. the portions were good good lunch but the bowls are deceivingly large for the portion it contains.

Great location right on the water. You can pull your boat right up to the dock. The parking is very crowded and you have to valet but is on the beach to be expected. It was a last minute stop and only had to wait about 10 minutes for an outdoor table. The service was quick and efficient it is probably always busy but our food came out quick and hot. I'm not a big seafood fan but Mahi is such a great option. So fresh and delicious. The lobster roll had a ton of flavor too.

This place was unreal! the only obvious downfall is the wait time... i wish they took reservations, i get why they dont because they dont need to, but it would be way more enjoyable for the customer. Really appreciated the $5 valet situation, and the view of the water is incredible. We tried the blackberry mojito while we were waiting, it was okay but very strong. The food is incredible! We obviously had to start with the famous scoobies, which are their little crab claws drowned in butter and garlic and served with small toasts. MUST GET. Also their coconut shrimp and dipping sauce is one of the best ive ever had. We also had the clam chowder which was delicious! For mains we had the crab cake salad and the fish tacos. The vinaigrette on the salad is like a fruity dressing and its SO DELICIOUS. THe only time i would maybe return is on a monday or something, even though the food is outstanding, its painful waiting that long. But i get why others love it!

Max and I came here for the Scoobies. We had them at another restaurant and these are superior to the other ones. It's Friday and it's happy hour. The place is crowded and shares space with another restaurant. Wrap around bar was filled with patrons. I would definitely come back during happy hour and order more Scoobies. Fair warning. Do not. I repeat do not come dressed up. Even though the place is air conditioned, it's outside. Not to mention you will need a shower after your Scoobie experience.

They originally told us it would be a 25-minute wait, but we were pleasantly surprised to be seated after only 5! We started with the tuna poke, which was different from what I was expecting but absolutely delicious. Then we split the lobster club, which also caught me by surprise in the best way. Everything was really good, and sitting outside overlooking the water made the experience even better. Such a beautiful spot!

There are restaurants you plan to revisit, and then there are restaurants that turn into a full-blown marital mystery. My wife and I came here years ago and had one of those meals that sticks with you. Great food, killer atmosphere, one of those "we have to come back here" nights. Only problem? We completely forgot the name. For years, this place became our own personal Fort Lauderdale urban legend. We kept telling ourselves it was tucked down some side street away from the beach, hidden like a seafood speakeasy. Meanwhile every map kept insisting it was "at the beach," when what we were really remembering was this perfect spot sitting right on the Intracoastal with a view that makes you want to cancel the rest of your day. Well, mystery solved, and the return visit absolutely delivered. The view is flat-out magnificent. Boats cruising by, water sparkling, that laid-back South Florida energy where nobody should be in a hurry, especially the bar, which occasionally moves at the speed of a manatee on vacation. Honestly, it kind of adds to the charm. We started with the conch and shrimp fritters, and this is where the comedy began. The texture? Perfect. The flavor? Spot on. The actual conch and shrimp? Possibly still out in the ocean somewhere. Delicious fritters, but let's just say the seafood was working remotely. The sausage served with them, though, absolutely understood the assignment. The spinach and artichoke dip was excellent, rich, hot, and exactly the kind of appetizer that makes you accidentally ruin your appetite and not care. My fried snapper sandwich was the star of the table. Absolutely fantastic. Tender fish, fried perfectly, with a crust seasoned so well it felt like somebody in that kitchen actually loves food. Every bite hit. This is the kind of sandwich that makes conversation stop. The fish tacos, unfortunately, didn't get the same memo. Overcooked, underseasoned, and just kind of there. Not offensive, just forgettable, which in a place this memorable stands out even more. The burger, I'm told, was perfect. The tuna burger, on the other hand, got hit with what sounded like topping overload, to the point where the tuna itself got lost in the shuffle. If tuna is the headliner, let it sing. Now let's talk dessert, because this is the part that deserves its own standing ovation. The key lime pie is in a class by itself. Pro tip: save room. Seriously. This isn't one of those key lime pies that punches you in the face with fake tartness. It's balanced, subtle, fresh, and ridiculously good. The kind of dessert that makes everyone at the table suddenly become "just one bite" thieves. Pair that with a very well-made espresso martini, and suddenly all flaws are forgiven. Service was excellent throughout, and the whole experience reminded us exactly why this place haunted our memory for years. Four stars because a few dishes missed the boat, literally and figuratively, but I'd absolutely recommend it. Go for the fried snapper, the stronger appetizers, the mac and cheese, and above all else, that key lime pie. Some restaurants are worth finding once. This one was worth solving a years-long cold case.

If you're anywhere near Fort Lauderdale and don't make it to Coconuts, you're doing it wrong. Set right on the Intracoastal, this place nails that rare balance of laid-back coastal vibe and legitimately top-tier food. Boats drifting by, sun hitting the water just right--it's the kind of setting that makes you slow down whether you planned to or not. Now the food. The coconut shrimp? Absolute knockout. Perfectly crisp on the outside, tender inside, with just the right touch of sweetness--easily some of the best I've had anywhere. The coleslaw was fresh and bright (not drowning in mayo like so many places), and the fries were hot, crisp, and exactly what you want alongside seafood done right. And the Passion 75 cocktails... dangerous in the best way. Light, refreshing, and just strong enough to keep you ordering "one more" without thinking twice. Service was dialed in--friendly, attentive, but never hovering. The kind of team that knows exactly how to match the energy of the place. This isn't just a meal--it's a Fort Lauderdale experience. If you want waterfront dining done right, with food that actually backs it up, Coconuts delivers in every way.

GET THE COCONUT SHRIMP! I totally lucked out and got a waterside view during a gorgeous sunset with a view of some expensive looking boats. The food was delicious-- NY strip, Mac and cheese and asparagus. One of the best places I ate while visiting. Perfect way to end vacation. Highly recommend!

Is this accessible by water taxi?

Technically Yes, you'd need to get off at stop:F7 of the water taxi (Swimming Hall of Fame Fort Lauderdale Beach). Coconuts will be the restaurant directly to the left of the swimming hall of fame.…

    Do they take reservations?

no. they take you down on a list, no call ahead or reservation.

Do you have a happy hour? If yes, what's the menu or specials?

Yes they do have happy hour M-F 4-6pm. They offer discounts on drinks and 1/2 off appetizers.

Does this restaurant have a service charge?

There was no service charge on our bill.

When do you have the lobster grilled cheese?

It was a special the day I went.

Do they still offer happy hour? If so, what times, days, and what is offered on the menu? How much are the Scooby Snacks btw?

    Excellent!

What day of the week is the paella night? Or do you guys even do this still?

    Friday for sure

    The average price?

It's not cheap and depends on what you order. I'd say maybe around $30 per item. Of course adding alcohol makes the price tag much higher.

When is happy hour? Called Coconuts this morning. Happy hour is from 4:00 to 6:00.

    No happy hour - unfortunately

Do they serve brunch on Saturday?

    Yes

Do they have a kids menu?

I would assume yes - as we saw families with children dining when we were there over the lunch hour

Just looked at the menu on thier website. Do they still serve Scooby snacks and paella?

I am not sure about the Paella but the Scooby snacks have always been a off menu item that is always available. It is a staple of the restaurant.

NO- They don't need it because it's a lively place.

    Where do you park there?

They have free valet on site. There's also boat parking.

I thought they had a good selection of things, we ordered dinner and it came in 10 mins. I thought was too fast! Of course, I'm never in a rush. I rather enjoy my meal and…

Should we make a reservation for Saturday brunch?

    They do not take reservations.

    Do they offer steamed oysters?

G&B Oyster Bar is part of Coconuts. They offer oysters a la cart on weekends. Check out their menu @ http://www.gandboysterbar.com/

One of my favorite Michelin places. We got the tasting menu at the chef's table. I thought we can watch the chef prepare our meal but you're just sitting in the kitchen watching staff prepare food for the restaurant. We couldn't see them making our food. We arrived at 5:25. They seat you at 5:30 so they sent us to the bar for drinks and close out that deal. They sent our bottle of water to the other side after we paid for it and were charged twice for it. They have a huge staff. A different server for every two people being served explaining the plates plus the staff in kitchen talking and yelling over each other. I couldn't hear any of the details for the dishes. That took away from my experience. They give you a menu when it's over. I would have preferred getting that before eating. One other small issue to some but huge to me. I had allergy not a food sensitivity listed on my reservation, on a phone call and confirmed before eating. They served me an allergen! I couldn't hear the server as he was speaking and I happened to hear it and repeated did you say!! Of course! This is a big deal to me but it was brushed off as no problem we can change it to something else. Fabulous meal but the noise level was too much for me.

Our waitress was pleasant, attentive, and made us feel right at home, which always enhances the dining experience. Although we weren't extremely hungry, the menu had so many appealing options that we decided to sample a few items. We started with the Caribbean Tea shots, which were unique, refreshing, and surprisingly enjoyable. For drinks, we ordered a Malbec and a Peanut Butter Old Fashioned. Our first entrée was the Churrasco Frites, featuring marinated skirt steak topped with chimichurri and served with twister fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful, but those fries were the true star of the dish. Still wanting more, we ordered the Garlic Parmesan Twice Cooked Wings. They were nicely prepared and satisfying, though I would have enjoyed a stronger garlic flavor. Not quite finished, we moved on to the Oaxaca Burger, an 8 ounce burger stacked with onion rings, bacon jam, house BBQ sauce, and Oaxaca cheese. This was one of the best burgers I've ever had, and possibly the best. The bun was toasted yet soft, the burger was seasoned perfectly, and it was cooked to a juicy medium temperature. Every bite was packed with flavor. Overall, everything we ordered was excellent, and the service and atmosphere made the experience even better. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning.

I have had several things from the menu, including a hamburger, house salad, wild salmon, chicken Melanesia, empanadas and even a hot dog! Everything is fresh and high quality. The salmon is huge and very fresh. It has a mild blackening/seasoning that forms a nice crust. The chicken reminds me of my mom/grandma/great grandma's chicken cutlets! Very Italian/Sicilian vibe. (Get them with mash potatoes). The patio is always comfortable with a great breeze and a view of the ocean a block away. What really stands out here though is the friendly service. Andres has been there almost every night and has always been great. He is very prompt with bringing drinks and food. You can see them hustling down to the kitchen and keeping things running smoothly. But what I like the most is the friendliness. He is always willing to chat about soccer, music, wine, or anything else (but also knows when to leave you alone so you can eat). Also, the value is pretty good. The wine is $10 or less. They have my favorite Malbec. And even the ribeye, at the beach, for $27 is not bad at all. Some of the appetizers are a bit pricey ($13 french fries) but I think all in all its one of the better values in the area. Note they do not serve liquor, only beer and wine. Also, there are no tables inside. Just a small bar inside and then several tables outside. This is a fairly quiet and unpretentious restaurant. If you want a trendy noisy evening this is not the place. It has never been packed, but there is usually a person or two at the bar. They play music but it does not dominate the atmosphere. Usually something chill like reggae. If you want friendly service, good food, and a relaxing environment, then this is a great choice. Dog friendly patio. This is the type of place you can sit with a book and drink wine, or catch the soccer game and have a beer or three. Definitely worth a visit especially if you are staying at the hotel!

I'm visiting the Foodie & Cocktail BFF and we're looking for a post dinner place in Fr. Lauderdale…read morewhere we can catch up over some cocktails on a weekday night. Sidecar Speakeasy was the play... The speakeasy entrance was hidden in a hallway you can walk right by without even noticing. I dig it. Once inside, it's dark. Most of the light is coming from the light showcasing the bottles in the bar. The seating is a little tight as they're trying to maximize space for such a small area. We visited here twice during my visit: We sat at a table and a bar. You have the perfect amount of space for your party, but you're pretty close to the next table or bar seat. No claustrophobic vibes though. All the mixologists were great during both visits. One visit, we ordered their signature cocktails from the menu. When we sat at the bar, we had the mixologist surprise with a cocktail off the menu. He just asked what kind of liquor vibe we wanted, and he took it from there. He was super creative with every cocktail which made for a great time. They stayed upon until midnight one one visit and until 1 am on the other one. Both my visits were on a weekday. The sidecar speakeasy is easily my favorite bar in Fort Lauderdale and I have a feeling I'll be back. Enjoy!
