My dad's favorite Peruvian chicken spot. I have my own favorite but decided to give this place a try. We ordered a whole chicken and sides of yuca fries, French fries, and black beans. We ended up taking home enough food for another meal. The food was pretty good, it tasted fresh and we did have to wait a bit for our food to come out. There was a decent amount of people there, so they seem to have a good reputation for for their food. They also serve lots of other food items and choices, more than I've ever seen at other Peruvian chicken restaurants. Inside has a fair amount of seating that's all spread out. It's not decorated super nicely but they had signs up that said they were moving to a new location soon. One thing I didn't like is that they charge for extra sauce. I've never been to a Peruvian place that wasn't generous with their sauce. They also only have the green and yellow sauce, whereas some other spots I know have additional flavors (and they won't skimp). read more

This place is always hit or miss for me. The customer service is so so. I wish they weren't so frugal with the yellow sauce. I ordered takeout from them and paid extra for more sauce and never received it. The chicken some days has more flavor then others in my opinion. I got their beef empanadas which is just okay. While the food is consistent; the delivery system (GRUBHUB) is less than awful. Simple order of emapanadas & half chicken with sides. We get half the order. We call the establishment, get blown off and have to call the delivery service which has a delivery charge of nearly half the bill. While we realize we are being MASSIVELY overcharged for the service; we value our time and would simply like the drivers for the delivery system to identify the tickets on THE FRONT OF THE BAGS to be sure the order is correct before leaving the restaurant. Grubhub should hold the driver's to a standard of professionalism which the service is CLEARLY lacking as this is the second time in as many days. FUNNY - The service charges the restaurant and the customer for this service. RECOMMENDATION - Use DOOR DASH if available. Rude comments! Tried Cocorico at a diff location last month...loved their food so decided to try this location as well. Ordered salchipapas and their special of the day: chicken pupusa. At first I was going to eat my food there bc at that point I had time to enjoy it. What was the big deal of putting my food in a to go box when my order wasn't even out yet? Second, I don't know where he comes from, but in the restaurant business you don't treat customers like that...business can change in a heartbeat. This area has many Peruvian chicken options, but Cocorico stands out. Reasonably priced and solid chicken it pains me to think of all those people eating at the stores inside the mall who don't know what is right outside. This might sound like a small thing to some, but the white sauce that comes with the chicken can make or break a Peruvian chicken place. Cocorico nails this sauce and also makes a quality spicy green sauce. For those who have never been to Cocorico or another Peruvian chicken place, I would recommend trying a classic quarter chicken with yuca and plantains before branching out. I ordered delivery , via Uber eats, 2 1/2 white with slaw and fries , it was pretty good , the chicken especially the skin had lots of flavor , the fries portion was pretty good. The slaw had a bit too much of a vinegar tang for me but my wife liked it . The only downside was the Uber delivery ,it was fairly late when I ordered and once picked up I got a decent estimated arrival time , but after 5-10 minutes it suddenly jumped 20 minutes longer , and the app showed him going further from my house , apparently making another delivery before coming to me , after awhile he was heading back in my direction but a couple miles away he yet again pulled into another development , I can't fault the restaurant for Uber errors though. read more

We've ordered from this restaurant frequently but I've never been 100% satisfied, either the chicken is okay but the sides are not or vice versa. Tonight the chicken was bland and extremely dried out and grainy; not even the sauce could help add juiciness to the meat. The fries were stale as well, yucca and plantains were not tasteful. As I type my husband said "let's just get through this." Tonight was the last straw for my family and we won't be returning. We live too far to even go back to request a refund or replacement. I am trying real hard to hold back on this review. I really am. Largely because I do not like giving 1 star reviews. For a good deal of time I tried rationalizing why it should only get two stars instead of one, but it comes to reason, why it gets one star. She could not have said, without saying a word, "I wish I were anywhere but here right now." It showed when she brought me my food and didn't even say "you're welcome" after I said "thank you" to her. She just dropped it on my table, and walked away, miserably I might add. So now, the "meat" of the review (I am chock full of it today). The chicken is tasteless. Once you get past the skin the meat is just so bland. There is a lot of meat, so there is a lot of bland. Then I tried the plantains. These are good. Not mushy and a good amount of sweetness. Probably the only good thing I liked. Lastly I tried the beans. Yuck! Watery, tasteless, hot, and just a big mess. I threw the whole cup away, feeling quite dissatisfied with what had just transpired. The menu is all the place. Is it Mexican? Latin American? Greek? Stick to one thing and ride it out. It tries too much to do everything. The location is a nightmare. There is nowhere easy how to get in, and exiting is just a puzzle in it of itself. I don't write a lot of reviews but Cocorico has been my go to restaurant for more than 4 years. When I want to cater big or small events they are always on time even at last minute requests like today for a 50 people event. They didn't let me down. The food was amazing! Perfectly seasoned and fresh. I love Lody she is great at suggesting dishes. The costumer service at Cocorico is very important and I'm always very pleased with the service and the food. The portions here are big, my wife and I always end up sharing a half chicken and 2 sides, which are usually french fries and rice. The chicken here is amazing, you can order a quarter chicken, half chicken, or even a whole chicken. The sides are good, nothing to brag about, but the chicken is definitely amazing. A must Peruvian restaurant to visit. Its very delicious and menu is full of variety items. The chicken is very moist and delicious. Customer service is phenomenal. Folks, this placed used to be in the corner of Franconia Rd but they moved to this new location a few months ago so don't confuse this location with another one that came to its place at the corner of Franconia Rd. the outside of this place is so unassuming and the inside is very homey in terms of decor. it is kept very neat and tidy however. I ordered the half a pound dark meat chicken and sides of black beans and veggies and let me say right off the bat, the chicken was grilled and seasoned to perfection. it was so juicy and the skin added very nice texture. my only regret was i didn't order the whole chicken. the sauces are also very good but the chicken can be throughly enjoyed even without the sauces. My only gripe was that the vegetables were extremely hard to bite into so im assuming they were frozen but thats about it. the black beans were phenomenal and ate that in a blink of an eye. will be coming back often. read more
