Stopped for lunch on the way to the Santa Rita Hills area to do some wine tasting. In a word, AMAZING! Some of the best tacos I've had. Their chili verde was excellent as well. I mean, their beans & rice were the best I've had. Beans & rice of all things. Their salsa served with chips... so good. Such a nondescript place but it was excellent. My husband and I had hiked at Pinnacles and wanted to treat ourselves with Mexican food. This restaurant was a wonderful find. It's in a house and has a large welcoming bar in the center. The owner was there, smiling. There was a lot of neighborly talk. The waitress and the owner were very friendly. The chips were warm and fresh, and the salsa was tasty, but the spiciness kept mounting so I stopped eating it. (I don't eat a lot of spicy food -- this would be nothing to some folks.) My husband got the shrimp fajitas and a beer, and I got the shrimp tacos. The shrimp was well seasoned and a bit overcooked. The corn tortillas under the tacos tasted homemade. They were the best corn tortillas I have had. The tacos had grilled pepper, onion, tomato, cilantro, and came with a chipotle sauce. Really delicious. If we are in Soledad again, we will definitely come to try the other dishes. Fajitas did not show them to their best I don't think, but the quality of the beans, chips, salsa, and tortillas were really outstanding. read more

We ordered the Pastor Sope and if was one of the best ever. The service was really fast as well. The other dish was Chile Relleno. The presentation was beautiful. Driving from Pleasanton down to Santa Barbara we were looking for some lunch. We found this little gem through the yelp reviews and were incredibly pleasantly surprised. We were sitting out on their large patio with a nice breeze contemplating the multiple wonderful choices on the menu. My guest had a Chile Relleno and I had a quesadilla mixed chicken and Carnitas. Probably some of the best Mexican food I have ever had, and I grew up in Southern California. The wait staff was outstanding, attentive, friendly, and even offered to make suggestions if we desired. Needless to say we are incredibly happy with this restaurant, and it will become a part of our trip between the Bay Area and Santa Barbara in the future. read more

Their coffee tastes a little bit watered down, but it comes in a huge styro cup. Glad that they also have vegan options on their menu. Outdoor seating is adequate. We had dinner here on the route to the Central Coast. Cocuyos (engl. Firefly) is a fantastic spot to stop over! Outside dining made it possible to have the meal on site, even during the pandemic. The food was fresh and delicious, the guacamole tasted like it had been made to order, so did the shrimp cocktail. My wife's tacos were delicious and our daughter's chicken tenders were some of the best I've had, with juicy chicken in crispy breading. Authentic and fresh. Highly recommended. read more

So we are on the road from NorCal and SoCal and for once not doing the I-5 straight shot down. We are getting the hungers on the 101 and I look up places to eat on Yelp as it is my go-to resource for eats. I'm seeing this place and I'm seeing the ratings and I'm like "what the heck?" So we aim the motorized steed to this restaurant. It's cute, quaint, and the neighborhood is quiet (we have suitcases in the car, and break-ins are now part of reality so I have to mention the safety feels). Proprietress is very friendly. I order the molcajete as I like seeing what restaurants do with it. First off, complimentary chips and salsa hit the table. The salsa is soooo good. Spicy, hot, flavorful, reeking of home-made. Chips came in thin, hot, crisp. Shoot me if I'm wrong, but those tasted house made too. The molcajete came with rice, beans and tortilla. Chock full and balanced (four proteins, a fried cheese stick, and nopales)....so, so good. Yeah, I see where the ratings come from. Three of us shared this along with two tacos just to get a taste. Both carne asada and pastor were great--and they give a lot of meat for $2,50 a taco. I ordered a super burrito to go. It came with chips so I ask for some salsa. The proprietress (I'm sure she wasn't just a worker) sent me on my way with another bag of chips and also a tub of salsa. Yes, a tub, not just those single use miniscule plastic condiment containers. She wouldn't take payment for those extras. I'm absolutely blown away and if ever, EVER I'm in the area of Soledad (but God forbid not locked up as a prisoner) I will absolutely stop and eat here again. *****FIVE STARS***** for sure. read more

Just ate here with my family. We ordered al pastor tacos, beef tacos, chicken quesadilla, and pastor burrito. All items were delicious, Especially the pastor tacos (best tacos I have ever tasted). This spot is really good! Ordered take out/pick up and my 4 burritos were ready in about 20 min. Not only was it quick but they were delicious. I'm from San Diego and this is the closet burrito I've found to SD quality burritos. Meat is super flavorful and it had a good balance of meat to rice and beans.
