Last night I left a 10-percent tip for the first time in my adult life. The service was just horrid. She was pleasant enough, but so inattentive that it began to feel like we were invisible. We had to ask someone which was our waitress after we sat for a good ten minutes without a greeting. She took our order. Someone else delivered our food. We both had filets. My friend's was done correctly; mine was so overcooked that it was gray inside. So, we asked someone to find our waitress again. She came (long after I'd already finished my side dish) and said, "oh, ok," and took my plate away. Five minutes later she came back and said, "They're going to make you another." Like that was a big favor that she had to have approved before she could offer it. We finished...my friend far sooner than I. We waited and waited for our check. My friend left to wait in the parking lot. I stood up and grabbed my purse. When she finally noticed, she brought our checks and I asked for a to-go box. She cashed us out. It took at least 10 minutes during which time I noticed her chatting with a co-worker rather than counting out change. She brought the change back to the table. I asked again for a to-go box. She just walked away and went back to the place where she'd been counting change. I saw a to-go box on a table near the kitchen and went and got my own. We left. I ate there months ago and thought it was filthy. The bathroom was filthy. The place needed a good cleaning. I just drove by tonight and it has a whole new look. It's covered with a white and yellow EXTERMINATOR TENT. Theres a sign out front for the company thats doing it and says they take care of termites and roaches. I'm not sure how anyone would ever eat in a place that would be so infested that it would need to be wrapped so everything in it could be killed. read more

This location seemed a bit lower quality that the others I've visited. We had ribs, burgers and salads. All were just average. They weren't downright bad, just not really good. Yeasty rolls were hot with cinnamon butter and the unlimited salad bowl that comes with the entrees was cold and fresh with a great dressing. I had the steak chunks with grilled onions, mushrooms and a sweet potato and was pleasantly surprised based on the reviews that I saw. Last night I had Prime Rib. I figured for $18 maybe they could t screw it up. Boy howdy. It came out cold. Cold and over cooked?! I order medium rare.... there was no red at all.... solid pink through the middle and complete cooked to the edge. The actual meat was maybe 4 oz of the steak. Don't get me wrong I love a little tasty fat w my steak , but not when it's cold. Also, the salad was maybe 4 bites. She didn't bring enough and walked away to never return except to give me the bill. Last visit I ordered grilled shrimp and a side of veggies. I got fried shrimp and fries. PISS POOR SERVICE TONIGHT. I'll look past the 40 minute wait to sit, that's typical for a Sunday night. I'll also look past the additional 20 minutes it took our server Sarati, to get our drink order. What I can't get over is the 25 minute visit, after we placed our food order, for our waitress to inform us they were out of one a meal we already placed. After deciding on a new meal for dinner, we were subjected to another wait, over 60 minutes before finally asking for the manager because we haven't received the food we ordered. However, as much as the decor is interesting to look at, the food was just so so. We ordered the mile high onion rings for our appetizer. Now, the onion rings were fried perfectly and there wasn't too much batter on them. The dipping sauce they serve with it...they need to get rid of it. Horseradish type dip that wasn't that great to pair with the onion rings. The bottle of BBQ sauce they had on the table tasted WAY better with them than that mess. Now onto the main food. My friend and I both had their fish sandwich, which was actually pretty good with a good size fish. I ate half of the sandwich with the bun and the rest without. It seemed like they butter the tops of the buns. I don't think it's necessary for taste. Makes it greasy. My son had a regular bacon burger with avocado as an extra topping and fries as his side. Now, I stole a few from his plate and a few of the sweet potato fries from my friend. They both tasted like they had been sitting in the freezer too long and then dropped in the fried. No bueno. All in all, service was good and the place seems to be pretty clean. Would we come here again?? Probably not. But, I am glad we stopped here anyways to give it a try. I went into this Cody's on Tuesday 03-22-2022 and had the worst experience I have ever had, no exaggeration. I wanted to make a to go order so I decided to sit at the bar. This female bartender was all attitude. It took her a good five minutes to turn around and realize I was there. She finally asks me what I want and I tell her a Bud Lite and I would like to make a to go order. "Bud Lite is out and you're gonna have to wait for a menu," Wait for a menu? Why? So I wait. A few more minutes and she brings a Bud Lite and a menu. "She comes back, I'm not ready to order, she's copping an attitude and getting irritated. Another customer sits next to me. She comes back and I ordered two wild caught Atlantic Haddock. I'm trying to explain the sides to her and she's yelling at me in a condescending tone like I'm stupid. Now she's real loud and fast so that I can't talk. She's yelling at me telling me what sides I should get and she had it all screwed up. Finally I yell at her, "Look lady I'm sorry I came in and ruined your day by just wanting to buy some food." I actually had to repeat myself because she wouldn't back off. Finally she puts the order in. The guy that sat next to me says I want to eat so I'm going to try not to upset her. I'm like good luck with that. He orders, gets his dinner, we talk and drink a couple of beers and about 45 minutes goes by, she brings my to go order, he's ready to cash out and so am I. "He says your food took longer than mine and you were here first." "I'll be its cold." I just wanted to get out of there and figured if it is I'll microwave it. I paid her and tipped her. Sure enough I get to my 88 year old mother's house and the food is cold, french fries are like rubber. I inspected it and it didn't seem like anyone messed with it. I'm just willing to bet she left it there to get cold out of spite. I have been going to Cody's for years. I've always been a dedicated Cody's customer. I started at Cody's on 4th Street in St Petersburg probably back in 2009 when it was open and after that Cody's on Park Street N in St. Petersburg. Both those restaurants had awesome staffs and excellent food. I won't tolerate being talked to in a demeaning manner, treat me like I'm stupid and then leaving my food to get cold. Chanda, our server, was very professional. She had the best up beat "can do" attitude. Chanda was attentive and by the way she communicated with us throughout the evening made us feel comfortable and relaxed about our food service. We knew when things were ordered and when they'd be out. We had drinks, the appetizer, our yummy rolls/cinnamon butter and salad followed by our entrees. We had hot wings. Which had great flavor on well cooked meaty wings. The house dressing on the salad was great. Creamy without being overdone. The salad tasted crisp and fresh. The entrees were mixed BBQ plate which had a 1/2 slab ore like full slab of ribs and a large chicken breast. The ribs were fall off the bone type and the breast was moist and done well. So very disappointed! We love most of the Codys and we were excited to stop in today for a late lunch. We were greeted by a very nice woman who sat us at a booth with a bag of peanuts. The place was not very busy, so we were not expecting any service issues. We already knew what we wanted to order and waited for our server. 15 minutes later, we asked the hostess if there was a server there. She told me to wait a minute, then never got back with me. Instead the hostess and the waitress seemed to go into WWE type smackdown. The server pitched a royal hissy fit, that I saw. The hostess and server were fighting with each other and I hear the hostess say then don't tell me to seat you. The server was throwing things- they both walked away and we were left sitting there wondering what to do. After a few more minutes, we just left. No o ne noticed.... nor did they care. Wow! We were pleasantly surprised. It was our first time here. When we got there at 5:00 on a Wednesday it was packed. We were told 55 minute wait. We went to the bar. 2 for 1 drinks. Brian was the only bartender for the whole restaurant and a full bar. He was amazing and efficient. I didn't notice anyone waiting too long for a drink. When we got to our table Rhyanna greeted us. She was pleasant, professional, and very helpful. 3 of us ordered prime rib medium rare. It was delicious! We were all happy! It was tender and cooked perfectly. I don't often leave a review unless I feel strongly about something. I waffled a bit on 1 or 2 stars for this place. We got there around 5p and had about a 25-35 min wait (not a problem as there were a good amount of people there) before we were seated. First (minor) error is that we didn't get our peanuts from the hostess after being seated. Our server, Amica, came by after about 5-7 min and got our beverage order. As it was busy, it was about another 10-12 min before we got our food order in. The time is now around 5:50p. We got our salad and our rolls not too long after this. And then I watched as the table behind my dining companions (who was sat about 10 min after us) get their food and then the table behind them (seated around 30 min after us) get their food. It's now 6:35p. All we've had so far was the house salad, some of the bag of peanuts and the rolls. I then watched as the table behind get the check for their food and are done and away. I checked the time again and now I'm looking at about 6:45p, and we still don't have our order and the next table is probably about midway through their meal. My dining companions and I have other things to do this evening and so we need to leave. The food (finally!) comes out and it is 6:57p. An hour. But we don't have time to eat as we spent all the time we had waiting on the meal to arrive. Manny (the manager for the evening) was disappointing in his handling of the issue. His thousand yard stare as I was telling him that this really wasn't acceptable was not appreciated. I have 20 years of food service experience, 7 of those also in management. Two suggestions, one for Amica and one for Manny; Amica, check in with your customers every 10-15 min until they get their food. Manny, even if you don't really care what your customers are saying, at least try to pretend like you care about what they're saying. I'm willing to give these guys another try, since the food does smell good, but the human element has to step up. read more

As our patience grew weary, we asked to see the manager who was in the kitchen. He sends out an un trained shift leader/ key holder. The most disrespectful customer service lady. As she began to tell us the restaurant was short staffed, the order had only been in for 35 minutes, & they had other customers that to be served. Of course they do, but we had been there way before other tables of guests that had already eaten and left. The nerve of a key holder to stand and argue with the customer. We asked for the number to call the main office, she left the table, came back out and said call tomorrow and speak to the manager. To top all this off, when my food came the top of the burger bun was dropped on the floor, do you think I want to wait anoer hour for a bun top. Cody's Roadhouse has now been scratched off my list to eat. Good riddance Cody's Roadhouse! I can't imagine where your inexperienced key holder got her training, no wonder staff ends up leaving and your short staffed! Let's start out by saying that I was hesitant about the 2.5 stars... Party of 7 and everyone found what they wanted. Great service, BOGO drinks on Wednesday evening was a great perk. I ordered the French onion soup is to die for. Be careful it comes out hot as lava. The bbq wings are large and have light breading, amazing bbq sauce.
