We ordered Sonny's barbecue through the drive-through and brought it home to eat. I had the beef brisket and mac & cheese, and it was very tasty. My wife and daughter really enjoyed their chicken fingers, beans, and cornbread. Sweet tea was very good too. Everything was good overall, except the french fries they got a little soggy in the container. I want to give a shout out to Emilio who was at the drive through window. He gave us really good service, he was very friendly, pleasant, and accommodating. His positive attitude, definitely stood out and made the experience better. read more

3.5 This is such a hard place to review. Over all, this is a good place for food. Sometimes service is a little slow. Sometimes we don't get everything we have ordered in our take our bags. Sometimes we get charged for items we didn't order. Maybe that is why it is not a go to place for food. Had a great dinner with hubby and our twin Grandsons. Food was and service was wonderful as usual when we come here. Enjoyed the 4 meat combo which is always more than enough for me to eat 3 times off. The inconsistency in the food quality is very hit or miss with takeout. A pulled pork dinner had 3/4 black burndt ends but it was mostly burnt skin. There was very little edible meat. The baked beans were skimpy and the sweet potato was ok. The garlic bread was unremarkable at best. I was so disgusted. When I eat in the restaurant the quality is decent. And when I get takeaway I go inside to order. But I can't see it before I get home. Save yourself some money and skip Sonny! read more

Good good, in my opinion it's the best BBQ spot east of the Mississippi. Being from the midwest I know good BBQ and this is the closest. You get a decent amount of food and plenty of sides. My favorite is the St Louis ribs, with the sweet sauce. Garlic toast, baked beans and the sweet potato. My wife quarter chicken, brisket and baked beans. We always have to stop at a Sonny's whenever we are in Florida. We enjoy the ribs and brisket usually. This time we had sliced pork instead of pulled pork. The pulled pork is usually better as the slices were too thin. A thicker slice would be better. The sides are always good. We had beans, sweet potato, and a side salad. My husband and I rarely go out to eat. We transport rescue dogs and decided to stop at Sonny's. We were started quickly for a Saturday night. Our server was great but it was so freaking cold in there that my husband was shaking and his teeth were chattering. He was wearing long pants and long sleeves. The table next to us also complained about the cold. When our food came, neither of us could enjoy it, so we packed it up and left. Wife got a salad with what was supposed to be chopped brisket , what she got was two blobs of fat and grizzle that should have been thrown out when person cooking the meat trimmed it. Childrens grilled cheese was literally one slice of American cheese on toast. Children chicken fingers was two pieces and ten French fries. Also was missing several sides that should have been with adult meals. Note I have eaten at Sonny's BBQ in Spring Hill several times and quality and volume was so much better. SONNYS RIBS corporate has somehow managed dropped the ball again. Increased prices, ended the salad bar, cut all portion sizes, petite size baby back ribs. Now they have the honor of THE WORST COLESLAW of any bbq restaurant. They changed to a cheaper, very course cut cabbage, which my experience it had an odd aftertaste. Almost a metallic flavor. Food was great, nice portions! Had one problem their credit card computer would not work. I had placed my order and waited for some time. Myself and another gentleman were waiting. The manager came out and gave us our orders. I had no cash. I thought the manager said come back and pay later. I went back the next day to pay for my food which again was great. I walked in and the cashier recognized me and said our friend came back. I told them I was there to pay for my food from yesterday. On 08-03-2025 I ate at the Sonny's restaurant at 631 67th St Cir E in Bradenton, FL. This is a family-style BBQ restaurant with a very comfortable and welcoming ambiance. I arrived for dinner and was promptly seated. I had their Big Deal Turkey on a bun with fries, a side order of baked beans, and an unsweet tea. My food arrived in a timely manner and was cooked properly. It came exactly as I ordered it and was very tasty. A variety of sauces were available, and I selected the Sweet sauce. My server during my visit was Danielle. She was very efficient, kept my tea glass filled, and responded to any and all requests I had. I have had Danielle for a server several times before, and I consistently receive superior service from her. She is always friendly and courteous and takes a genuine interest in her customers, making sure that they have a positive dining experience. She is a credit and an asset to the business.
