Enjoyed the 4 meat combo which is always more than enough for me to eat 3 times off. The inconsistency in the food quality is very hit or miss with takeout. A pulled pork dinner had 3/4 black burndt ends but it was mostly burnt skin. There was very little edible meat. The baked beans were skimpy and the sweet potato was ok. The garlic bread was unremarkable at best. I was so disgusted. When I eat in the restaurant the quality is decent. We always have to stop at a Sonny's whenever we are in Florida. We enjoy the ribs and brisket usually. This time we had sliced pork instead of pulled pork. The pulled pork is usually better as the slices were too thin. A thicker slice would be better. The sides are always good. We had beans, sweet potato, and a side salad. Good good, in my opinion it's the best BBQ spot east of the Mississippi. Being from the midwest I know good BBQ and this is the closest. You get a decent amount of food and plenty of sides. My favorite is the St Louis ribs, with the sweet sauce. Garlic toast, baked beans and the sweet potato. My wife quarter chicken, brisket and baked beans. Smells amazing, and usually very good, but they are often stingy on the sliced pork serving ... and this location never seems to offer all you can eat option to get more. On 08-03-2025 I ate at the Sonny's restaurant at 631 67th St Cir E in Bradenton, FL. This is a family-style BBQ restaurant with a very comfortable and welcoming ambiance. I arrived for dinner and was promptly seated. I had their Big Deal Turkey on a bun with fries, a side order of baked beans, and an unsweet tea. My food arrived in a timely manner and was cooked properly. It came exactly as I ordered it and was very tasty. A variety of sauces were available, and I selected the Sweet sauce. My server during my visit was Danielle. She was very efficient, kept my tea glass filled, and responded to any and all requests I had. I have had Danielle for a server several times before, and I consistently receive superior service from her. She is always friendly and courteous and takes a genuine interest in her customers, making sure that they have a positive dining experience. She is a credit and an asset to the business. Not good bbq at all. Wouldn't waste my money here. Not a good representation of American bbq at all. I hand the 3 meat or the sampler to get an understanding of what they were good at. Most bbq places do one or two meats really well while the others are decent. The Ribs were mostly bone with very little meat. The meat that I could fine was dry and chewy. The chicken(dark meat) was similar to the ribs. Very little meat. There meat wasn't smoked or had a Smokey color or flavor. It tasted like baked chicken not bbq. Brisket was probably the most decent item of the dish. Definitely have had worse. I would go back for it but it's 3 stars. Pork slices. Not even sure what this was. It was like deli slices of meat. Pork is traditionally chopped or pulled. I can't even rate it as I am not sure what it was suppose to be. Whatever it was it wasn't bbq. I would asked for chopped or pulled if you ever get it. Called the restaurant and spoke to a very rude manager who blew me off telling me she personally bagged the order so she doesn't know what to tell me but call the driver. (Which I already did). The receipt on the bag was correct but a box of bread and corn doesn't amount to $60/ 3 bbq dinners. Bad enough I didn't get my food but not even so much as an apology.
