Let me start by saying, I am a prime rib snob. I love it. I order it. I cook it myself. Cody's prime rib was awesome!

Have been going here since they originally opened. Shortly after the pandemic started as every where else they had to close for dining in. Which everyone had to get used to. I've ordered through DoorDash during the pandemic and food was either over cooked or under cooked. Since the pandemic their food and service has gone downhill in quality. When they finally reopened understandably because of the short staff situation everywhere, found that service was slow. But the food was not good at all. it was either over cooked or just not edible. Last time I went which was last Saturday, I get everyone is short staffed, but my complaint is this, why would you schedule only 2 waitresses on a busy Saturday lunch time in a holiday season and then proceed to sit every table available knowing there's not enough help to do all those tables efficiently??!!!. They only care about making their money, and is no longer about their customers. Will never set foot there again. read more

We went tonight to start with the silverware was down right dirty nasty took 3 sets to get a clean. Ones then we order ribeyes med well a d a prime rib med rare. Both were vert WELL done sent back the bake potatoe where black in the middle they brought new steaks they was raw just down right nasty we told manager we where leaving and not paying. She was rude. My family met here for dinner this past week. Multiple palmetto bugs ran across our table more than 2 Times. They discounted us $15 off our $150 bill. In my opinion this is terrible. I don't care where you are, no bugs should be running across your table at any time. THe waitress was nice but the establishment is dirty and poor quality. read more

we enjoyed our dinner; the endless salad was fresh with a tasty house dressing; my salmon was lightly blackened per request, moist with a delicious dill sauce; husband's chopped steak was a good-sized portion and cooked as he requested; for dessert, we shared a large slice of carrot cake which we had to take home to finish. This place is pure garbage from the door girl to the horrible service. I have never walked out of a restaurant, Codys makes the first. I love Cody's roadhouse we go there all the time I especially love Kyle the waiter we always ask for he is very good at what he does and is fun and you can tell he loves his job. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I always have The grilled salmon it is fantastic and it was always put on a bed of rice, now they have raised the price taking away the rice so the customer loses in this change. I feel it would benefit Cody's cporate office talk to their customers. read more

Cody's Original Roadhouse in Bradenton is you get what you pay for kind of place. If you enjoy mediocre food and cheap prices, this might be the place for you. We went with friends for their advertised "Customer Appreciation" day specials and there was nothing special about it. The advertised Jumbo Friend Shrimp were not large. They were the tiniest popcorn shrimp we ever had. Two of the entrees were the advertised special steak. The steak was tough and had a lot of gristle. Really terrible experience this past Thursday. In short, crappy service, food quality worse than normal and management was tepid at best. Went in with family at 4:30, barely a person in the place. Tumbleweed blew past our table. :-) just kidding. Started off well, a nice engaging waiter. Then it went downhill. Took forever for our food, our waiter disappeared and other server brought the food and refilled water. Daughter's fried tilapia was so bad it was like a plate of fried batter, no fish to be found. Eventually hailed another waiter asking for replacement. Were told our waiter was now working in the kitchen, so new person took over. By the time yet another waiter brought the replacement tilapia we had all finished eating. So we ordered dessert, which took forever. When my wife talked to a manager, she got lectured that they had had two people walk out of the kitchen and quit, so we actually should appreciate her 'good management'. She took off and another manager ended up coming over to reward us after a two-hour odyssey with a $7 credit, half of the tilapia. Amazing, never had such a bad experience at Cody's. Regulars but thinking something is amiss with their team nowadays. So utterly disappointed at what would normally be one of our favorite restaurants in the area. Not sure we'll go back. read more

I'm adding my opinion about this crappie hell hole. We went with friends that have been going to this place forever, and we went for St. Patrick's day dinner. The salad was great. The corn beef was horrible and so shredded, it was the consistency of tuna out of the can, salty as a salt block, cabbage was so limp and soggy, you couldn't pick it up with your fork, thinly overcooked slivers of carrots were chewy and the disgusting so called potatoes were dried up and wrinkly from sitting all day under a light. Sent dinner back and was asked if we wanted anything else, we ordered the failed fajitas. Check came and tried ask why we were being charged for the food that was sent back, was told by the sassy assist manager basically to kiss off so we asked for the manager. Well, hi was the biggest, unprofessional dick. Didn't want to take ANYTHING off the bill. As the conversation became a little heated , the manager threw our bill on the table and said, "just pay your bill". He took off 1 salad that came with the dinner that was sent back, asked why we were charged for that, and he said, "you ate the salad didn't you?". So disappointed, we will NEVER go back and we will let everyone we know not to go there. I told the manager that this place was going to get a bad review and he shrugged his shoulder and said, "So". I asked him his name at this point and he said he didn't have to give me his name and asked me MY name. Oh, the so called managers name is Garrett Caulfield. Great place to eat. The happy hour specials were very good. Our waiter, Seth, gave us excellent fast service. Eddie, the manager is absolutely delightful. Nice decor, very cool... the 1953 pickup truck on an auto lift, gives the impression of an old time garage in the center of the restaurant. The peanuts were awesome. Got the filet mignon an it had absolutely no flavor to it. The mashed potatoes with gravy just seemed to be reheated up and were hard in some spots. Our waitress was very nice, but very goofy. Don't plan on ever going back was nothing to get excited about. read more

How I miss living in Florida and getting to eat at Cody's. The bottomless salad bowl with garlic ranch dressing and sweet yeast rolls with cinnamon rolls taste amazing. The rest of the food is decent but just having the entrees is a perfect meal! read more

It quite honestly pains me to give Cody's two starts. Let me start with the positives: the food is a m a z i n g! literally THE best ribs and coconut shrimp around. They also have a pretty sweet happy hour and always have a "daily special drink" that is $5 until 7pm. With every entree, a salad is included. This salad is quite possibly the best part of the meal. They also have warm homemade rolls with cinnamon butter that you will get before your meal-yum! Ok, so why two stars?! Well, although the food is delish, the service is subpar to say the very least. The past two times we have gone, the service has been a nightmare. Time A: we were a table of three...3-not hard to handle. the hostess sat us in a booth situated in a way that we could see into the kitchen. We waited for over 15 minutes just to put a drink order in-we started timing after about 5-8 minutes of sitting there. The waiter took our drink orders but brought us out the wrong drinks (diet instead of regular, iced tea instead of water) but we let that slide as everyone makes mistakes. We then order. It took 10 minutes to get our salad and bread. We finish that part and wait for our food. 1/3 people got their burger. We were still waiting on a chicken entree and coconut shrimp. Another 15 minutes went by before it was delivered. We made a semi-joking comment such as "must be busy back there tonight" and the waiter replied "do you want my job?!" and walked away... He slammed our bill down then walked away again. We chalked this experience up to a bad night. Time B: this time, we were a party of 8-mostly older people who just need a bit more time and patience. We had literally not even sat down yet and a server came over and said "Drinks?!" No one heard him right away so he raised his voice. We asked for just a minute and he muttered "un-f**kin believable" he came back 2 minutes later and said "Drinks?!" We started to go around and say them but before anyone could finish he was on to the next person: "I'll have a co-".."NEXT".."Uhh a wat-".."Next"-it was really annoying. He came back and set everyones drinks down at the very end of the table so that we had to pass them out which was aggravating because some were diet/unsweet and others were not. He then came to get our dinner order and was again super rush-y. The older people a the table were getting very overwhelmed. Before we had even gotten two bites in, he came with the check and said "ok this is here." but before we could ask for extra lemon/drinks/etc. he left the table. A manager came over and asked how things were and I said "well it is ok. the server is a bit harsh." and the MANAGER said "Yeah well ya know we all have days"....are ya kidding me?! Went in on January 3rd just before 9pm. Sign says they close at 10pm. We had eaten there sometime ago and liked the food. This time around, we never ate. A server walked by us 2 while waiting at the hostess station. One of the cooks was just staring at us from the side kitchen. A male server was bs-ing with 2 ladies having dinner. A different male server was walking to the front, sees us says "oh" and turns around and went back. We figured he might have went to get someone. Not the case. They were not crazy packed that they couldn't help, just didn't care too. We waited about 15 or more minutes and just left. Would not go back. read more

Charles at the bar issue super nice! BUT had a terrible experience in the dining room last night with surly waiter. He was pissed that he had to take back one of our drinks and was muttering under his breath as he walked off with it. Then towards the end of the meal he refused to serve anyone in our party another drink even though 3 out of 5 had only had one drink. That was uncalled for and ruined our birthday celebration. I had hoped the management would have been more reasonable but backed up the server who we felt was doing this out of spite. When we finally got service waitress waited on 2 tables at once and they got drinks and food before us evin when we sat first and waited so long. They didn't have a choice but to give Cody's roadhouse one star but if I were up to me they would get no star. lol start with the decor it's cute but DIRTY !!! Service SLOW !!! Food how can you mess up a salad well they did I couldn't even eat it. The rest of the food never made it to the table because after an hour and a half we got tired of waiting and left. Hmm... Not sure what to say about this place except that if you have a ton of time to waste and you have kids that you want to eat free on Mon & Tue's, then go here to do all the above. I enjoyed the company I was with despite eating at Cody's. The service was so-so, and the food was edible; not going back especially if I have to pay for the meal. Would rather go to a good place and pay for the kids. I always go for Quality vs. Quantity, but some people would rather enjoy the 2 for 1 Happy Hour drinks to numb their taste buds then it really doesn't matter how the food turns out. read more

Service was good. Chicken fried chicken with pepper gravy was good as was grilled steak chunks. Sweet tea very weak and definitely not sweet. We ate here on a Saturday night that was not particularly busy. I ordered a steak dinner and my wife got chicken. My steak was badly under collect so I sent it back. My wife's chicken was borderline a past but she ate it. My state came back collect, but overcooked on the outside so basically it was close to inedible. I figured that my dog would love the steak so I gave some to him. this was a bad mistake. My wife and I started feeling queasy later that night. After giving the scraps to my dog, he felt truly sick and was diuretic all over my home for a day and a half. I called management and told them about this and they told me they would call "investigate". It's three weeks later and I haven't heard from them since. Never again read more

We were a party of 4. We were there early in October 2012. It was the first visit for all of us. Cody's was recommended by a good friend. Sure am glad we finally made it. The food was delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection. The Prime rib was wonderful. T-Bone was great too! Our server CJ was very sweet and checked on us often and kept our ice teas full. In fact 2 of our party have already been back a second time and the 4 of us are planning on returning again soon for a birthday along with a 5th person too. WOW! A fun fine place to eat. The staff and food are great. The filet was duper outstanding. Went back and had the prime rib. Another cut of meat that was knocked out of the park. Each of the servers we had were friendly and attentive to their customers' needs. Never had to ask for the manager, Nick, once. The servers write their name on the paper table cover so you knew who to ask for along with the manager's name. Last night I went to Cody's with some of my girlfriends and had a ball. We got delicious mixed drinks and cold beer. I hear they can make Margaronas if you ask too! That will be my next drink I order when I go! The place looks awesome. They put in these crazy high definition TVs all over the place. My husband and his friends now know where they will be going to watch all the games. Seriously, best in town! The food is always good. I got salmon yesterday and it was the best salmon I ever had. It comes with bottomless Cody's salad, of course... so good. I crave it all the time. If you haven't checked this place out, be sure that you do or give it another try if you've ever been disappointed. We love this place. read more

The food here is horrible we both felt sick for a few days after trying the prime rib and salad. The meat was half fat and I usually don't mind a little fat on steaks but the entire meal was sickening we'll never go back there again. E. For effort. It takes effort to hold up the counters instead of working to get the food out in a timely manner. Waitress nice enough in the beginning. Quick on drink order and giant yummy salad bowl being served. Yeast rolls....inside yummy but they were black bottom girls. Cinnamon butter was whipped which made it melt on the inside of the roll like heaven. There were three tables when we came in....the busier it got we were forgotten. She didn't even realize we never got our food. Then brought the wrong food. Husband ordered salmon she brought prime rib. I ordered prime rib medium rare. Tough meat! Sent it back. I know they have more than one loin in the kitchen yet I was served the tough sister to that brother. Husband had to ask 4 times for butter. Diet coke refilled once with regular coke. :( read more
